  • This is the first of a two-part series where we ask our friends and family to give us questions to answer. Eva, my oldest daughter and I did a Q&A where we answered 6 specific questions about what life is like now that I'm post surgery and what the next several weeks and months might look like.

Hey Brandon. My name is Owen and I live in St Thomas Ontario. I just had this surgery today after severing my patella trying to play beach volleyball with my son, Sam method and feeling you described.
I am also a believer and my church family here at Faith St Thomas has bee amazing, especially my accountability guys. Thanks for doing these videos, so great to see what I can expect. Also I am so blessed to have an incredible wife to get me through and stay positive. I am really praying God uses this time to strengthen my faith and that I can glorify Him through the injury. Any extra tips or advice would be most welcome. How are the box jumps?

Someone reached out to me today on Facebook asking if I was the guy doing the TH-cam videos. I can’t believe I didn’t have my notifications on and honestly thought these videos died on the vine. Please let me know how your recovery is going / went. Thank you for reaching out. 💪🏻💪🏻

I went for a rebound! Was planting to jump and it blew out in the air. I thought someone hit me in side of knee but no one was a round. How is your pain now? My pain is unbearable day after surgery and feel like my legs being pulled down

@@taxrayne7385 the first 5 days after surgery are horrible but after that you will feel improvement everyday. Hang in there it’s a terrible injury. I’m almost 5 months post opp. I’m able to shoot around with my son but i can’t run still. I am able to to do barbell squats with 115 pounds. Stairs are still an issue. I still have shooting pains thru my knee. My knee keeps buckling still. It takes a while but you should improve. Good luck

It’s been over a year and I’m still buckling at the knee. Basketball isn’t in my future. It has really changed my life.

@@cman7144 how old are you? I’ll be honest at 45 it’s different for me because I already can’t do what I used to do.. but I still snow ski, play pickle ball and tennis, box jump and run / sprint - but it took over 18 months.. it was a PROCESS. Hang in there and keep me posted

Man I’m on day one post surgery and it feels like my knee cap is being pulled on so bad. Pain is unbearable and can’t get comfortable. They have me on norco 7.5 and it’s not helping at all. Which day was the worst pain?
