    Keep the chevy pickup!!! I'm 72 and watch a lot of tv, but I haven't turned the tv on as long as you keep making your vids. They really are enjoyable!!! Thank you.
    P.S. I drive an 82 chevy caprice wagon, that's in great shape.

    REALLY enjoying the C20 Chevy videos. I had an old 1969 C10 farm truck in high school that everyone made fun of ... until one winter day when it was -20F outside and it jumpstarted 4 of my friend's cars which wouldn't start. :) Nobody made fun of Old Blue after that day! Wish I still had it. I do still have the first truck I ever bought - a 1995 Dodge Ram 1500. There's a video of me working on it on my channel from several years ago. These videos are inspiring me to start working on it again!!

    stay safe out there Randy. It was a great video and watching you do this maintenance gives someone who has never done this type of work, so much confidence to at least try to do it when its time for this scheduled maintenance. Thanks!

    *Usually if you go that far into it it's best to take the rotors off and re-grease the bearings inner and outter and check for scoring and burning on the bearings once you have them cleaned off. Yours could have used another shot or two of grease too but it will work with what's there for a while too still yeah if it was higher miles than what you were told, those outter points on the gear would have been worn more to a point and sharp and could have cut you when you ran your finger across it. the fact that they are still rounded lets you know that the truck or at least the gear hasn't been run very much*

  • @777warhero
    @777warhero 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That truck could use some undercoat. All the new shiny stuff going on the truck and a new paint job but the underside shows the surface rust. I think a good looking underbelly will only make the truck look that much better

    Uberman I really enjoy your clips. I am interested in making my own repairs and I would love for you to do a clip on what you recommend as tools. Maybe show us what tools you use the most and where we can get them.

  • @gottatinker3363
    @gottatinker3363 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would recommend that when you wash it, you spray a thin coat of spray wax on those wheels to help protect the clear coat as long as possible. once the clear coat starts to deteriorate they will corrode, then leak. Plus dog urine can stain them.....

    The odometer doesn't have six figures right? It probably has over 100, maybe 200k miles

    Anyone who is obsessive compulsive like myself understands what I am about to say. I sure hope you wiped those dirty fingerprints off that nice shiny new differential cover. I couldn't have slept at night knowing those marks were there, LOL.

  • @allenhoward9826
    @allenhoward9826 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are We snuck the bearings up and loosen it a quarter turn so it doesn't get burnt up from being too tight but the rear end looks good it's in good shape I would have put it in neutral and turn the tires and looked at the gears going around and make sure there is no burs and check the back lashes on the rear end plastigage you could use a plastic gauge

  • @sonnylatchstring
    @sonnylatchstring 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You should tap the Chevy on the back while emptying 3 bottles of oil into the differential

  • @gottatinker3363
    @gottatinker3363 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    some guys would snug those wheel bearings down, spin it, then back it off 1/8 of a turn. puts just enough space to help brake pads back off after braking..........no brake drag

    Hey man what is the center bolt in your new diff cover? I would think the top is fill, center is oil level and bottom for drain. If I'm correct you've got way to much oil in that diff, if I'm wrong, well it won't be the last time.... today. But what is the center bolt for. Thanks brother, I've commented before about how many videos you put out, really remarkable man. UBERMACHINE. And they're pretty good videos to boot so good on ya, appreciate it

    • @AutoAuctionRebuilds

      I've also worked on a ton of stuff. I can see right through the surface rust bullshit. Dude I believe you have a low mile truck, no reason to think you dont. Everything tight, clean diff oil (nobody changes that shit, when they do they pack gasket maker 1/4" thick on the cover). 150k on that truck and things would be a bit loose, not fallin apart, but some loose shit. NOTHIN loose, clean ass body, undercarriage looks like it does, interior is practically mint. Yeah I know the odometer only goes to 99,999 but from what I see I don't believe it's been rolled over. I think you got a really nice low mile truck, congrats on that.

    Look at the break pedal. If it’s worn out , it’s probably over 100k

  • @peternick6
    @peternick6 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    What was the deal with that third bolt from the top right of the diff, looks like it’s missing at the end but before that looks like you put it in?

    • @AutoAuctionRebuilds
      @AutoAuctionRebuilds  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I put it back because the new one wasn't long enough.

  • @magnummotorsports8313
    @magnummotorsports8313 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    What happened to the new bolt for the diff? I saw you used the old bolt in its place, which is fine lol. Just doesn't match.

  • @gottatinker3363
    @gottatinker3363 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    when you re-do front end, are you gonna turn the rotors?..........might help with vibration. lots of age on them.

    • @AutoAuctionRebuilds
      @AutoAuctionRebuilds  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's no vibration from the suspension / brakes. That is coming from the motor.

    • @philipthomas6808
      @philipthomas6808 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Plus, you should only turn the rotors, if necessary, after you change the brake pads...

    • @gottatinker3363
      @gottatinker3363 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      this is true Unless they are really Old and you want to put them on a brake lathe so you can Mic them (and make sure they aren't near "Run-out") .....inspect thousandths out of round to determine Accurately If they need it! :)
