Yep, good vid..... I just found my coil inside the distributor to have burn't a hole thru it and was leaking spark, shorting out to the inside of the distributor housing,on the side where I could see until I removed it, crazy thing is, it'd only die when I pressed hard on the accelerator, when it sparked it also blinded and confused the cam positioner sensor which is also inside under there too, the cam positioner then told the ECU to cut fuel due to it didn't know what the hell the cam was doing.............. thanks for the vid !
I know this is a older video, but I seem to have the same problem. My 1993 Nissan truck with the 2.4 engine will crank but will not start. If I put some gas in the carb and a small squirt of starting fluid it will startup. and I can keep it running on starting fluid. Also when I turn on the ignition key I do not hear the fuel pump run. I don't know if I would hear it because I just bought the truck not running. If you have any Ideas I would be most appreciative of you.

HELP!! Have same 97 Nissan, but green. Has 382k and no major work ever. Basic stuff wear and tear. Has been missing for about 6 months. Replaced distributor cap and rotor and new plugs which were definitely needed. Helped but not fixed. Recently noticed it was worse when cold outside. Found damaged air temp sensor. Was going to replace last Friday but wife hit a deer with her car and had to get her another car. Left to go to car lot to get car Friday afternoon and about three miles from home began to run rough, backfired a couple times and died. Won't start now Checked spark by pulling plug and holding against block. Spark plug does fire. Checked fuel by pulling line to fuel rail and has fuel dumping out when turned over. Pulled valve cover and timing chain appears tight, virtually no play and all looks good. No obvious broken valves or springs. (Broken chain was my biggest worry) Okay. Checked fuses and all okay Sure of spark and air but fuel could still be an issue. Got a can of starting spray and nothing. Like no change in sound when turning over and won't even try to start or bust off. . Was told to check compression but no obvious gasket issue and even if so wouldn't it still try to fire??? Any help or pointing in the right direction would be greatly appreciated as I love this little truck.

Has power to the dist. But Replacing the dist. Soon. If its not the dist. What else should i look for? There are no codes as well.

I have the same truck, cranks no start, key on, no power going to distributor. Ran fine but throwing a p1320 code, primary ignition signal. Ran jumperwire to resistor to ensure continuity to resistor by valve cover. Now cranks but no start. Ideas?
after that u need to set timing with a timing gun nd know how to dis activate the computer to set the timing sounds like its 2 advanced timing by the sounds of it

Can. You. Dig it?! Nice vid, good stuff. My cousins truck has a ka24e as well, but the ignition coil is separate from the distrib. It's off to the driver side fender. We had a no spark issue. Replace the coil cuz it was the original, no spark. Wires, cap, rotor, fuses... No spark. What gives!?

⭐ Astral Auto Repairs. So it turns out it will start if I mess with the relay box and test light checks. But it never dies while driving. Just no power to injectors after shutdown. Have tried other relays too. Same result.

Had a truck do same thing. Turns out new battery was bad. Replaced. Did it again. Same thing. Third time as was a charm. Apparently O'Reilly had gotten a bad batch.
remove one of the spark plug wires at the spark plug end. Get an old spark plug and connect it to that end of the wire. Lay the spark plug on something metal on the engine. Have someone crank the engine while you are watching the gap at the end of that spark plug. You should see an actual spark jumping between that gap.
@@OnlineAutoRepairVideos yep... Its actually the 16 years old sons..done ordered the parts gonna tackle it this weekend, truck had a brand new head when we got it, but looks like they used a 25 dollar timing chain kit...I order a oem chain and gears this time ..so we will see!!!
@@kevinc9006 I've seen those cheap kits on Ebay, well I did a 2004 Sentra, so I'm guessing they would be somewhat similar, and that one sucked! the pickup seems a little easier because of the way it's set in the engine bay. I just looked up the labor on doing that job, and it say 6.7 hours, so it is almost EXACTLY like the 2004 Sentra. Also that labor I gave you, was for a 2 wheel drive with A/C and power steering. The 4x4 is higher. Good luck, and do keep us updated!!

What happened when you put fuel in the throttle body and you have fuel coming out the filter to the system and still will not stay running?

Sure enough, no spark and tested coil per fsm. Put spare distributor in, retimed, and problem fixed.

The pulse of the injectors is controlled by the distribution or by computer? ??
The distributor sends the signal to the computer, then the computer pulses the injectors.

Mine won't start even with fluid. Has spark and air. Seems would start with fluid or at least bust off even if injectors failed 100%
So what is the reason if no flash on injector side?
You have to check for power and a control signal from the ecm

How can you tell if the distibutor is bad
No spark is a good indication, and a good start. Other than that, you would need a multimeter to test the wiring going to the distributor as well.

My 97 pick up can push start but push in the clutch turn the key and nothing.
No click no noise no anything.
There is a plastic piece that breaks off a lot that is on the clutch pedal, look at that first.
