    Hey I'm just letting you know that this is what my idle issue was as well. And this is the video that got me to take a look at the fuel injectors. I've cleaned the throttle body changed the MAF sensor the throttle position sensor, EGR valve and solenoid, fuel filter, distributor, spark plugs and wires and I'm probably forgetting some other stuff but after all of that it was the fuel injectors that needed to be changed. Truck now runs better than it ever has since I've had it. So thank you for making this video!

    Started mine and it had a misfire....looked at everything until I realized it was a fuel injector problem.
    Found the trouble maker one and took it out, hooked it up to a battery, blew through it then sprayed some carb cleaner through it and cleared it out...
    Hooked it back up to the rail (remember not to lose any o rings!!) and it fixed the problem

    Also on 1994 D21 KA24E, I learned the hard way that the injectors are hot all the time, straight from the battery. They rely on the ECM to supply ground. #1 shorted internally on mine, spraying continuosly, fouling the plug, filling the crankcase with fuel. It never blew the fusible link at the battery. I had one heck of a time finding the problem. I read the resistance on all four injectors and compared, #1 failed. To make it worse Nissan sent me another shorted one, which I read before installing. I carried it right back to them and explained to their parts dept how to read injectors. They gave me a good one, read it before I left the dealer. FIXED. I am going to rewire my injectors though, from the ignition switch. As it is from the factory, one could short out internally overnight, or anytime really, fill your crankcase with gasoline, destroy the engine when cranking.

      I had the same problem in mine it burnt the ECM, and went ahead and bought Chinese injectors which were a piece of shit, so I ordered OEM Hitachi injectors made in Japan, had them tested at a place in Torrance California, ( because there are some counterfeit ones being swapped by the Nissan dealer employees) I also got the MAF sensor TPS, and IAC valve, all OEM, I will never buy Chinese garbage again,. All while the engine was overhauled at 224K miles, I bought this truck brand new in 1991 and I intend to never buy another truck, this one has put up with me all this years, I only drive 2,000 miles a year now.

    I know this is an old video, but i did notice the injector you pulled out was a single port ( one spray hole). That was an after-market injector. Those after-market injectors are junk. They never last plus they don't work very well to begin with. OEM injectors have 2 port holes and work much better. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for. You are better off buying reconditioned OEM injectors then those after-market ones. I know brand new OEM injectors are about a 100 bucks or so. Reconditioned ones are 40 bucks and work perfect and last a long time.

    Better off changing all of them at the same time, because if one is bad, the rest won’t be far behind... i had the same problem.

    I would have to agree with it most likely being the first injector for everyone. It would be logical to assume anyway. I diagnosed mine before this video but never thought to make a video. I’m sure there are many who are grateful

    Also could be a idle speed control valve. Causes same issues.. erratic idle. Dies when stopp8

    I have this same problem, and I just ordered plugs, wires, maf, iac valve, throttle position sensor, distributor cap, distributor rotor and a new coil... either way it will be nice to change that stuff but I'm going to try the injector first because my dad has the same truck and some extra injectors so I'll let you know tomorrow if this was the fix.       Wasn't the fuel injectors on my 93 hardbody... Also did the maf sensor, throttle position sensor, plugs and wires, distributor cap, rotor and even the ignition coil. Still have a rough idle. Timing is right. Guess I'll do the idle air control valve, I can't think of what else it may be.

      @@mikeyp509 I figured out it was my maf sensor the new one I put on was bad and I purchased a second new one of better quality, or at least more expensive. Running great now

    Dam thanks alot my same spark plug was black i think its a common problem since the fuel hits that injector. First, thanks alot your video was helpful.

    I'm chasing the same problem on my '91 D21 pick up. Runs great past idle. 100 K miles. Real bad idle almost wanting to die at idle, but does not die. This will be another step as well. Any guys find the fix to their particular bad idle please post. I will do the same. Thanks for the video. Too bad all my spark plugs look great. None rich or black. Gonna test the aac(IAC)idle air control off the car , again since it test fine on the car. BAD IDLE! find continues...

      use MAF sensor cleaner on the MAF sensor. you have to remove it from the throttle body(two screws), spray it clean, let it dry , reinstall.

      @@kateh6135 I haven't worked on it but I did test everything and everything checked out. I'm heading towards the fuel injectors and what what can appear to be OK but not is the fuel pressure regulator. I will post my findings.

    Many thanks for posting the video. Mine is a '94 Nissan truck with 155K miles. How much did you pay for the new injector? I have a similar idle issue. My engine stalls when deceleration. If I shift from the 4th/5th gear to neutral, the engine will stall. The idle will just go too low and stall the engine. I read the service manual and it does not suggest it is the TPS (throttle position sensor)? Was your problem similar to mine? Thanks, Tony at Dallas, Texas

    Thanks for that video, I have a 95 d21 just replaced the MAP sensor and I'm getting that crazy surge at dead idle was dropping out trying to bog out I'm going to try this and see I'll come back and let you know how that worked out but seems like you might be onto something there

    Why is my 1995 d21 have the check engine light when it warms up? When im driving and accelerating the light goes off and when i step on the brake it comes back on.

      My still shaking, I think maybe cause it old. It 210000 miles, but start up every time

    My hardbody does this thing where it shakes after releasing the clutch and taking off, feels like revolution drops and want to turn off. Drives good but when I come to stop and have to take off on first gear the whole truck shakes

      Exact same with me , sometimes not so bad but other times it's bad shaking especially when first start riding , and going up hills , thought it was me but it does it to anyone who drives the truck .

      Blake Horton I put some Lucas fuel injector cleaner/gas treatment along with a full tank of the high quality gas and it seems to improve I feel like it doesn’t do it as much so it could be bad fuel injectors

    I can tell you got the wrong plug wires. There not NGK there AutoZone.
    Nissan's run so much better on NGK plugs and wires.

    Hey man, I think I have the same problem when I hit above 55 mph the engine vibrates and the speed goes down and it makes a clicking noise and the check engine pops out saying is cylinder 4 misfires but I already replace spark plugs, wires, distributer is very new. Did yours made a clicking noise ?

    Ok people I need some help with my 93 Nissan d21 2.4L 4wd 5 speed, I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, TPS, MAFs, fuel pressure regulator, all vacuum lines, plugs and plug wires, distributor cap and rotor button, replaced all 4 injectors and checked the timing it was good. It will crank and idle good but will not rev over 3000rpms, if you mash the paddle to the floor it will bog down, like it's not getting enough gas, but has good fuel pressure, any advise would be greatly appreciated

      @@mikeyp509 my 93 does the exact same thing. And I have replaced all the same parts as said above. My mystery is number 3 cylinder is not effected when disconnecting the pigtail from the injector. {(New) stethoscope tells me its clicking fine} cant figure out WT?

      I disconnected the computer and plugged it back in . No change. Still sluggish at acceleration. Only running on 3 cylinders

    Yo today my 1996 truck ran great for 25 miles on the interstate ( no faster than 70), I let it sit for 4 hours and then was heading back home by 2pm. I only got like .5 a mile away from my store and the truck idled really rough and then died and I could not get it back started.. I’ll have to change the injectors and hope i didn’t blow a piston or something more serious. Thank you
