I saw a video that indicated that the egr solenoid diaphragm vents to the atmosphere until exhaust pressure actuates it to allow full vacuum to the egr. This means that the smoke you see is normal. I did a cigar smoke down the throttle body and also got smoke at the solenoid. Nowhere else though.
As I understand it, the EGRC-BPT should leak a little when not activated. However, I tested mine using the procedure in the service manual and it failed - so I replaced it. This cleared up my EGR flow error code too.
I need a little help please i have 1993 hardbody runs really good but the motor shakes a bit i replace all vaccun hose wires spark plug cooling temperature sensor o2 sensor and i dont know what to look for can anyone help me out please

Is the egr vacuum valve supposed to be enclosed? Does that mean it’s broken?
is the egrc-bpt valve fine if it leaks smoke? I did this smoke test and thats the only place the smoke came out.

@signwavejack Hey Jack, is it possible to add a link of the Procedure to test?
Thank you

Could possibly be bad motor mounts.
