Owl with screech is the only AoE threat generator and can save your ass when you're running. Take skinning and mining. Store all your stones and forged metal. Sell all the skins up to medium leather. Once you have enough medium leather (I think it's 20 or 40) to level engineering then switch from skinning to engineering. Stay out of caves and other high density areas until the mobs are green to you. Don't take on Elite mobs or elite quests until they're green to you. And even then, have an escape route. Stay out of instances. Yeah, sure, you could get that bow to drop in BFD. Or, you could end up with a tank or healer who DCs during a fight and lose your toon.
Good points expect the dungeons . I promise you most of the times people in your wow dungeons know what they’re doing. It’s going to be so much better if you get that blue bow from BFD than if you didn’t . Risk is what makes HC fun. You shouldn’t min max everything but you shouldn’t try and get the best gear. Dungeons are easily most fun part of leveling

I didn't notice if you stressed the importance of keeping your defense skill capped so you don't get crit and crushed by every mob that respawns on top of you, or the need to keep mele weapon skills maxed so you can land wingclips when you need them. Hunters die when things go wrong, and they die because their defense and melee skills aren't leveled. There is a reason only 1% of hunters reach 60 on the easiest class, and it isn't because they are only noobs playing it is because they are told "just let your pet tank" which works fine till you get adds.
Great guide and im no hunter pro for sure never played one until yesterday but i really feel like survival is the way to go just from what im reading, almost everything on there is made for a great escape, which i assume will be needed in hc.
you really do not want to get into situations where you need all the utility from Survival. Although it definitely is viable. Beast Mastery takes advantage of always being safe and killing mobs pretty fast and efficiently

Hunter self-found. Which profession? I think herb/alch as you will need raiding pots later (if you make it) But engineering gets you the thorium bullets then again, leatherworking can really help with items (since self found/craft) and keep everything enchanted with more armor not sure though
i would def say Engineering / Mining. it has alot of fun items too. LW is alot less in its utility. Its all preference though, you can make anything work. GL !
This information may help someone... if you need leather but don't have skinning. Fishing from pools along the coast they can drop junk boxes with leather... thats how i got my engi helm.
Can I ask a more detailed question about pets please? I played my fair share of hunter in vanilla and I Love cats with 1.2 AS. It makes frenzy strong. Boars as the charge is nice and it increase the first bite by 50%. Also their stamina and armor is good Gorillas have thunderstomp an aoe nature damage to all enemies within 8 yards on a 1 minute cooldown. The difference Boars and Gorillas have is they use a 2.0 Attack Speed compared to the 1.2 AS on certain cats. Do you feel the 1.2 AS cat is always the better pick even for Hardcore? and why? I wouldn't say cat is the best pick. It might be a little faster in killing because some zones have weaker mobs and cats have sprint which allows you to get to enemies faster. Boar and Gorilla are great for tanking and threat generation. Owl is also super good mix of the fast pets and tanky ones. The Owl's Screech is also super good for threat generation. It really is what you prefer. For what it's worth, the fastest hunter speed leveler used a cat back in Vanilla. But with hardcore other pets might be a little safer.
The rotation I run is HM - send pet - serpent sting - MS if safe - arcane shot - auto until mob dies. You eventually run out of mana but it takes a while. I love the damage on MS!
i use that for bursting down enemies for sure. when grinding on a ton of mobs i use the rotation in the video only for the mana regeneration. definitely try using immolation trap tho, it does surprisingly alot of dmg
@@Western_TVimmolation trap does a lot of damage but I find it can be awkward to utilize it. It generates a lot of threat so a lot of times you end up having run around trying to avoid the mob. I feel like it’s faster to just send your pet in immediately and let it tank the whole time

www.wow-petopia.com/classic/ is a good website to learn the difference. All the pets do the same DPS, but some attack slower which means they do more dmg and others are faster but do less damage. You can play around with the pets it shouldnt make too much of a difference. I like Boar / Owl / Cat mostly.

you shouldn't do auto shot before serpent sting, it just wastes a shot and doesn't start the dot right away, I also prefer the trap that freezes and enemy in place, I use it in case a 2nd mob gets pulled they run into the trap and cant move until first mob is dead. Its safer for hardcore. Also intellect is better than stamina since you shouldn't be using your hps, but you do use a lot of mana. Spirit does not seem to make enough of a difference to prioritize. the regen rate from increased spirit is so minimal.
good points. I like being super cautious w my health. Spirit actually does save a ton of time if you prioritize it and are using it properly to chain pulls (not casting spells for last ~50% of enemy health)
Hardcore. Think of your last regular play through and how many times you died. I guarantee it wasn’t an insignificant amount. I’ve probably died at least 30-50 times getting to 60
It looks like you have to tame that turtle boss in WC to get that 50% shield skill. Maybe that info was wrong or I looked at it wrong. I have been thinking about getting one of the turtles from the oasis in just sw of the crossroads.
Yo! I'll lend like for the work you've done, but I dont like the way you play hunter, brudda I'm plyng Surv hunt w/ roots on traps+ wing clip+counter + kiting. Pet shouldn't tank anysum If u're in MM u have too much dmg and forsed to use FD or disent. to reduse agro, dont rely on your FD!!! and dont waste 2 taent in it. If your pet is dead - you're bad hunter, or even dead hunter. Stay safe out there!

30 hunter 15 druid here… i guess the leveling is the real adventure in hardcore.

That's so true. Most think the hunter is only a ranged fighter but if it comes to close it still dies. Thats what i love about the hunter.

Good guide, Gorillia pet is very underrated, only pet with an AoE and it has saved my life a few times in 40s to 50s.
I have always heard that, never have tried it. I always wanted to test out a AoE SV leveling build tho, sounds like a gorilla is perfect for that.

On a non HC server agi/spi for 1/2 your gear is faster than going agi/sta or int/sta. Check out the testing done here on YT for validation.
Why would I use the googles??
For early stats, then upgrade them when you get a better leather or mail helm

Don't sleep on Turtles Shell Shield. 50% damage reduction for 12 seconds is stupidly good for hardcore.

You went for high animal survival but poor self survival in your build. Should have at least bought up your dodge under the Beast tree.
i play pretty careful and try not to ever have aggro off my pet. so many ways to go about it !
