It's cool to see Brian Shaw's performance on here. He's messed up a lot in the finals but instead of making excuses he learns from it, and has become 4x World's Strongest Man and has his own strongman competition!
Brian Shaw is a hero of mine. He is a champion in strongman and in life. Congrats to Big Z on a great win. Really cool to see Shaw not gripe and complain like has happened with other competitors. He just immediately shows respect and congratulates Z. These guys are legends
Zavickaz was the true champion in this one. Shaw dragged the farmers walk barrels over the finish Line and he didnt lock out the 11th rep in the dead lift.
Marius knew his time was up. When the guy who used to get second place to him finally caught on, it was all over. Big Z got 2nd to this guy 2x and overall 3x in a row before finally slaying the dragon. Marius knew he'd never beat big Z again. And he saw Shaw coming & was like "I'm good". The years he won VS big Z.. I'd only say that one of those was he actually the stronger man. Zydrunas was kind of like the Geoff Capes of the 2000's. It took Capes a while to catch on too, and when he did , he was hard to beat.
@@craigwheeler4760 you are not right. Mariusz went to mma because of a higher prize money! Prize money for 1st place in WSM was only 40.000-60.000 dollars! Mariusz was also injured in 2009. If he wanted to still compete in WSM he would won 1-2 more titles for sure!
@@tomandersson5089 because the bag slipped the final score was tied, the way they did countback was very subjective and thats the only reason Zydrunas won
@@telmolicious Zydrunas literally fell over and didnt finish the event. In my opinion not finishing an event should hurt ya way more than a bag sliding off the platform
@@SouthrnKoala Were the rules upheld? Yes. Was anybody therefore robbed? No. Z got a bad placement cause he didn’t finish and Shaw got the exact time that he secured the bag.
Love Zydrunas he’s awesome. His overhead press is super impressive

Props to this channel for not putting a spoiler in the thumbnail
Not really a spoiler when it happened 14 years ago
@@walk-york a lot of people watching either never saw it or forgot it and want to rewatch it not knowing the outcome. I'm in the 2nd category.

sometimes you drop the bag and it costs you
Good grief Savickas absolutely manhandled those kegs
Big Z was a static monster! He was also extremely athletic and fast for someone who was listed at 375 lbs.
Surely if you have a tie, the faster time should determine the winner?!
Travis is looking jacked......... and Marius decided to call it a day!!!!

Travis ortmyer looks like the guy everyone in your family hates and steps outside to smoke cigs
Хокляев красавчик, везде улыбается, это русский богатырь!
Man if Z could beat Shaw at the stones he would have what.....at least two more titles??
That works both ways though. If Brian had a better overhead press at the start of his career he would have 2 more also
If Z would have stayed with the Fed organizing the WSM he would have a few titles more too
@@YetAnotherRetardedYTUpdateHafthor would have a lot more as well
Uuh he won. And he won 2 wsm titles in IFSA
IFSA was definitely tougher but you’re a fool if you discredit Mariusz. Even just losing on his potential 6 title to Big Z.
Brian Shaw was robbed
how?
@@tomandersson5089 because the bag slipped the final score was tied, the way they did countback was very subjective and thats the only reason Zydrunas won

He fucked up.
Rookie mistake not not secure the bag.

No.

Holland had a very weak mindset. Gave up faster than anyone in the field of competitors.
Not to mention that you had an injury to his bicep that year, so he wasn’t 100% fit either
