- In this episode I visit La Rosa Pizza located 2106 S broad street Philadelphia. This small South Philly mom and pop shop is bringing you old school Sicilian slices at an affordable price. I got to try the cheese and sausage slice. I am also hearing that the potato slice is something worth trying to but it was too late for me to try since the video was already shot. I'd say La Rosa is one of those underground pizza shops that only the locals and pizza lovers will know about.

They've been a part of south Philly forever. They've never touched or changed anything for decades and as you found out...they don't need to. They are one of the very few originals that are still great to this day.

The owner is truly a genuine kind person. His daughter use to live in the condo I use to valet for and when he use to come and visit his daughter he would bring a whole pie for the valet guys every time.
I grew up on this!! Especially after school in the 90’s

La Rosa one of the best lowkey Philly spots
Well deserved recognition! I quickly became addicted to their slices while working as a parking enforcement officer in that area. Two slices, 5 days a week for years and never once got tired of it. They also have the nicest staff ever. (by the way, their sausage is homemade)

Lived in south philly for a few years and discovered this hidden gem on my last day in south philly before moving. The old man was not only nice but most of all the sicilian pies are as legit as they come. I'm glad you gave this man his flowers. It's been over 20 yrs since I moved . I plan to visit south philly soon.

Man i remember those slices , the reg cheese has a sweet tomato taste and nice mozzerella bite. The crust crunches.. It never changed I used to go there after school from Southern across the street

La rosa pizza has been apart of my family since I was a little kid I live in the suburbs now but every year for our big family Christmas eve party we put in a huge order and me amd my brother drive down to pick it up its hands down my favorite pizza in the world

I'm a pizza head ( Originally from Hartford, CT, lived in Jersey, lived in Queens , Ny for a summer (Sunnyside)and Chicago for 3yrs). My ex husband is born and raised in SP...he hipped me to this spot in 1991. I don’t live in SP anymore but I still frequent this place for the Sicilian style 🍕. This pizza is unrivaled by any other with the style of pizza they make 🤤 not sure of Merlino’s hoagie shop is still open but try there hoagies. They are at 15th and Federal. There is also a black owned store at 20th and Jackson. If they are still open try their hoagies.

Props to LaRosa pizza I am in my 40s now and they been around since and even before I was a young buck and use to sneak down the shore for the weekend by jumping on the NJ Transit Bus that would scoop you up right at that same exact corner you filmed on B&S and laRosa is right there and we would grab some slices and then jump on the bus 😂

That shot of the pizza at time 1:10, I miss pizza like this. You can't find pizza like this here in Hawaii. It seems that places here need to overdue on the toppings leaving no room for the main ingredient for a pizza, the cheese.
