Hey Mike! The restaurant with the big dumpling head is my dad’s restaurant. Totally did not intend to match dumpling heads, but everyone must love some dumpling. Hopefully you can visit the next time you come here and try some food out, there’s great soup dumplings and braised pork on rice. Love watching your videos!

As a Philly native, I can 100% guarantee that "Chinese Restaurant" is the BEST place for Chinese/ Fuijanese food! I love their peanut noodles and fried taro so much!

I was in Philadelphia with my son and his best friend for a convention. ..pre COVID. I made them walk around Chinatown with me . We would pop in to some of these hole in the wall restaurants to eat. It was the best Chinese food We have ever had. They still talk about it now as one of the best experiences they have had.
I walk by that duck house and “Chinese restaurant” often and think about going there a lot. Think I’m actually gonna go finally. Will be much better when we can sit inside

He cant travel as much right now. Philly is a good option. I know I am biased but philly is a great city for moderately affordable eats. They have some of the best sandwiches of any city in the world, a good variety, and a surprisingly diverse culture.

Hey Mikey Chen I went to half the places you reviewed today. You’re right on the money with all you ordered. So delicious! We even ended with John’s roast pork and their cheesesteak with American cheese and onions was super delicious especially on that nice toasted sesame roll. We didn’t get to go to the noodle place or the dessert place but that’s ok. Definitely mind blown about the savory salty tofu with fried dough. First time having it and was super delicious! Keep the reviews coming and imma try to follow in your footsteps!

go to Dim Sum House, they have like the fifth generation of the person who originally created Xiao Long Bao in China working at their restaurant, and it tastes like it! i loooove them. Tom's Dim Sum is also good, as are all the places i listed in my comment! God Bless!

You were so close to Reading Terminal Market when you were in Chinatown. That place is a food mecca. You must stop there next time. There, Dinic's has a better roast pork sandwich compared to John's but their pulled pork sandwich is a real hidden gem.

I moved around a lot and used to live an hour away from philly. It’s absolutely my favorite city in regards to cleanliness, the people, and the food. Such good memories

im from the caribbean and we eat pig ears all the time and especially in December its like a tradition.
(im from curacao its a caribbean Island about 40 mi north of the Venezuelan coast.) we like to dip in vingar and eat it with red onion!!😍

Not just the meat, the cheese is real cheese and the bread beyond worthy of eating. That bread is on a menu in heaven. I usually have only passed through Chinatown: I'll definitely have to try there though. Always a joy to see you eating. Best wishes.
Philadelphia is my second home, I lived there around three years while I was in college and it is absolutely one of my favorite places ever. Chinatown was like a home away from home while I was there

I’m from Philly but moved to Rome a few years ago, this is making me so homesick! My favorite place in Chinatown is Shanghai 1 (you walked by them at the beginning). Their soup dumplings and toothpick lamb are phenomenal!
This makes me wish I had had the opportunity to go to Chinatown more often when I lived near Philadelphia in my undergraduate years. College students are almost always strapped for cash, and I do so love noodles and tofu dishes.
Go over the bridge into Cherry Hill and go to Korean Dolsot House! The wings are incredible!
The chicken rice at the end was from "Cily Chicken Rice". I've actually gone there a couple times before and really liked their food. I especially like their fried chicken. If your in the area, I recommend trying it!
I don't usually enjoy watching people eat, but mike is just so familiar feeling and has great table manners (😂) that i enjoy it

Just moved out of Philly Chinatown 2 years ago, and watching this video made me miss it for the first time. Plenty of other hidden gems left to visit for next time, Dungeness crab with pork bits at Ken’s seafood, fish maw soup at JAde Harbor, dried scallop fried rice or walnut shrimp at Ocean Harbor, roast duck at the other SK - Sang Kee, spicy tonkatsu ramen at Terakawa, salt pepper wings at David’s noodle house, beef cerviche at “the train”, dry pot at Ba Wei, crispy roast pork at M Kee, dim sum at Nom Wah, Nam noung at Vietnam and the super secret restaurant in the basement of Asia supermarket. 15 years of research right there - Enjoy! Also, Franklin square park is a short walk away, no need to dine in a parking lot.
Shout out to New Harmony Vegan Restaurant in Philly. We miss you. Come back!!! 😫🙏🏾🙌🏾

As a Philly native, I have to tell you that next time you check out Chinatown, you need to try Dim Sum Garden at 10th and Race Street. So good, there's a little bit of everything there I and I know you'll like it. And if you want good Pho, there's a place not too far from John's Roast Pork on Columbus Blvd called Pho Saigon.
I’ve always preferred ocean harbor for dim sum but I’ve been wanting to try Dim Sum Garden for a while now. Love pho Saigon as well. Xi’an Sizzling Woks is a good place too if you haven’t been, I usually go to the one on 9th and Arch

Memories! So when I was in high school (around 2007 or 2008) I was grade in 11 & we took a trip to historic Philadelphia with plans on making our way to Chinatown. It was a very amazing experience. We saw so many different things & became pretty good friends. We had lunch in the park & before we did that we took a homeless man for a nice lunch. We went home with no food, we gave whatever we had left to those with nothing. We did spend a good amount of time in Chinatown. We all tried a little bit of everything😊we didn’t get home till it was dark out! Awesome trip! Couldn’t tell you if we went to the places you did, I honestly can’t recall it’s been so long❤️

I like Nan Zhou but I think actually Spice C is real good even more authenticate, cheaper and also hand drawn/shaved noodles. Their house special soup or dry noodle is incredible lots of spices and flavor! Nan zhou sometimes the meats not the best but I like em too.

As a kid growing up in Philly, my family would go to the Thanksgiving parade & then head over to Chinatown for dinner! Great food there!

I went to Temple from 1977 to 1981. Going to that area of South Philadelphia was epic. Many of my friends were cheese steak fanatics...mine was the roast pork.

I lived in Philadelphia for 40 years, I go to Siu Kee Duck house for BBQ rice every time I am in Chinatown. It is good but seeing what you pay for the same thing in NY, it is expensive. This place and the Heung Fa Chun Sweet House have been around a long time.
The only thing I know about Philly is you can't park anywhere without getting a ticket.

Hey Mike! Next time you come to Philly, you gotta check out this Indian owned Pizza Shop called Little Sicily’s II. They have Indian style Cheesesteaks and pizza. Their Indian Chicken Cheesesteak will blow your mind away!

For the love of God, the next time you’re in Philly, you MUST go to Neighborhood Ramen. It is without a doubt the best food I’ve ever had. They are finally back open for outdoor seating, they’re just SO INCREDIBLE.

I took a trip to Philly on a whim and booked a hotel within walking distance of Chinatown and Reading Terminal Market - best accident of my life! I was in foodie heaven.
I remember reading something about Philly’s Chinatown being either the oldest or the largest on the east coast - truly a gem of a city!
