I'm very surprised you guys didn't eat the Roast Pork w/ Broccoli Rabe sandwich at DiNic's in the Terminal. It's definitely on my list to go visit

It was on the list! If we had more time, it would have been next. Luckily that just means we have to go back!!

DiNic’s must be on your next Reading Terminal stop. You could do three good options: Roast Pork with Rabe and sharp provolone, a brisket sandwich and a roast beef sandwich. Also try the corned beef at Herschel’s.

I am enjoying your channel. I happened to come across it when I was doing my hardwood floors when your hardwood floor video popped up. Great channel. Thank you.

When I lived in Philly the Dutch bros was a everyday thing. Hot open turkey 😋

I have been going to the Reading Terminal Market since the late 1950s.
    Here are your grades:
You did very well at Beiler's. A+
Herschel's? You got a very good tip. Another A+. Ranks with Pastrami Queen and Katz's
@13:27...that is the problem with eating at the Reading Terminal Market. Also, better Asian is in abundance in the next neighborhood over
@26:00...what did you say? DiNics also offers cheesesteaks. They won the award on a cable food channel for best sandwich. No grade here.
@26:57...did you say ketchup? Where ya from?
You didn't get to Bassett's? Incomplete, you will have to retake this course.

That was a decent looking cheesesteak compared to what I was expecting. If you’re in the Reading Terminal market a much better option is DiNic’s for a roast pork. Sharp provolone and rapini or spinach, maybe some long hots.
If you want a great cheesesteak, the general consensus is Angelo’s at 9th and Fitzwater. They are even more known for their pizza. That said, their rolls are spectacular though they won’t be that pillowy soft kind of thing, just outrageously good. My o my beef with them is they push Cooper Sharp over sharp provolone which is the real deal. Whiz is for tourists for the most part. In the same block is Sarcone’s and a Cambodian noodle house Mawn. There’s even an old Italian American restaurant named Ralph’s that’s an icon. That’s all before you even enter the Italian market.
John’s Roast Pork not only has one of the best roast porks in the city, they’ve got a superb cheesesteak.
I love the Reading Terminal, no trip to Philly is complete without visiting for sure, lots of good stuff. The very best, is in the neighborhoods. Chinese food- you’re right around the corner from Chinatown itself if you’re at the Terminal.
Hope you return for another visit, nice video.

@@LauraOnTheMove glad to hear you’re looking forward to a return trip. Getting out of the Center City business district is where things get interesting for sure. Hitting Reading Terminal Market is still the second thing I do when I arrive in Philly is suppose. The first thing I do is walk over from 30th street station in to the Fitler Square, Rittenhouse neighborhoods for an espresso., get my bearings. I look forward to future videos!

Serious question. Is that a card you used to take the train around Philly? If so, do you still have it?

    • @LauraOnTheMove
      @LauraOnTheMove ปีที่แล้ว +1

Yes, that’s the card. They punch it on the train. I’m not sure if I still have it or not. It was a single use ticket. Is this one useful to keep??

I planned to ride up there on Amtrak and get off at the 30th street station ( the big one). Could you suggest an inexpensive hotel within easy walking distance of Amtrak. I wanted to walk to The Reading Market too.
Thanks to anyone that sees this and can help.😊

It’s not hard to find good options around Rittenhouse square. I can walk there from 30th street in under 15 minutes . Just look on something like Expedia and you’ll see a range of options. Club Quarters is where I stay. There’s a DiBruno Brothers a block away, great restaurants nearby and the Terminal is an easy walk. That said, you really should make an effort to explore the neighborhoods, that’s where the magic starts.
