That's cool. I hadn't seen snowflakes before, but I can see them now. I had originally thought it looked like bows tying up a package. and the green part was a wreath.

Hi Brita. This one and your Moroccan Tile pattern are my favorites. For Christmas in July, my vote would be in the minority for Pattern 2. Thanks for all the ideas, Antonia
HI Antonia, You have a good eye spotting the part that looks like the Moroccan tile. My son said that this same design could be created with a Moroccan tile block and a Pinwheel block but this method is so much easier. It does look, so far, like #3 might be the winner. I fell really bad for the people who voted for whichever patterns don't win. If enough people say that they like it, I will keep it in the list of maybe's for a future date. Pattern #3 is the one I would choose. Also, I think it would be really super if you added additional sashing in between a “group of blocks” this would really make a statement.-‘The sashing could be whatever colour you choose. Personally, I would make Pattern #3 quilt in solid Reds/Greens for Christmas on a white background. A bold stripped pattern for the sashing. A solid colour for a stopping border & a pieced piano keyboard. And, last but not least a thin stripped binding in red, green & white. Wow, what a show stopper! I can definitely imagine this quilt laying on my bed.
Hi Deb, I love that you are thinking about different ways to arrange the blocks. A woman after my own heart. I had to take a couple of days to play around and see if there was any way to mock up a sample like you described. The issue with adding sashing around each "group of blocks" is that there is a primary motif (the pieces that look like a ribbon bow) and a secondary motif ( the part that looks a little bit like a wreath). If you put a border around the bow, it will cut the wreath into 4 parts. I use EQ8 to help me figure out what a quilt will look like and I can't figure out how to put sashing around groups of blocks using the program. Once I make all the blocks out of real fabric, I will try what you suggested and see if I can get it to work. Your color suggestions sound great! I just need to see how dividing up the secondary pattern will look. Thanks so much for your suggestion and helping me to think outside the box. Brita

I don't like the total mixed scrappy Harlequin Block. I'd like to see scrappy in the form of each block two colors, then, all blocks put together to make a scrap quilt, more just two-colored "flowers" as they look to me. I can visualize so many options with this! Thank you Brita!
It is so much fun to imagine all the options. I wasn't sure how the Totally mixed scrappy would come out, but I figured that the only way to know for sure was start cutting scraps. Even though I wasn't sure, I wanted to share in case anyone else wondered. Thanks so much for sharing with me.
