Last week I took a 24 hour train into Pyongyang in North Korea! Ive always wanted to go to North Korea to see it and experience it for myself!

@Billy Ek Comparing North Koreans and the Chinese is like comparing the French to Germans, or the French to the English. They're each Caucasion but are still from different countries and have language and culture differences. Same with Chinese and North Koreans both being of Asian race appearance-wise but having notable culture differences being from 2 different countries, and language differences.

I envy your social skills so much. You can just start conversations with people you have never met before and don’t get awkward. How do you do it? Great editing too.
State of mind
Simon's really good at reading body language and energy of people he approaches.
People like to talk about them selves, ask someone where they're from, what job they do, there hobbies and most importantly show you're genuinely interested in what they do by actively listening and and asking follow up questions, don't judge then if they're hobbies are something you aren't interested in
Simon has alot of experience travelling on his own so his people skills will be better than most people. You generally just ask them more about themselves than you talk about yourself. People like to tell others about who they are and what they do etc
It's about his good energy, curiousity and positive mindset.

I live in China and speak fluent Chinese, so:
1. The Chinese lady on the train did not say your Chinese was good. She said "I teach you Chinese, you teach me English" (you replied "thank you", haha).
2. Chicken feet are quite popular in China. Depending on preparation, I'd say they can be quite enjoyable. From my perspective, your reaction seemed a bit rude towards the culture. Sure you didn't mean to. Welcome to Shenzhen 😊

Scor I’m sure there are things we eat that they find totally disgusting. I don’t think I would eat a chicken foot, possibly take a nibble, lol. I would however be keen on using chicken feet to make broth for soup. 😀
