This whole movie RADIATES sunday school church play. Like the staging. The acting. The choreography. The awkward scenes between songs clearly just written to get us from one song to the other with no narrative cohesion. I don't remember when they made the switch to using all kids in their cast but I do remember listening to an older song and recognizing a voice actor who later was in Steven Universe... as Steven's Dad.

I knew I had seen that blonde girl before, so when you mentioned her having some star power I had to look her up. Her name is Spencer Locke, and she seems to have had a pretty decent acting career since. The role I remembered her from was in the Miss Mystic Falls episode of the Vampire Diaries series.
