The way the female protagonist fall complication gets longer with each movie/show review just absolutely sends me every time. You’re doing the lord’s work Jaime
So I was so obsessed with this film as a kid that I wrote into one of those magazines that give you the “address of the star” and I was wrote back a letter and an autographed signed photo of Zenon herself Kirsten Storms. Fast forward to a move to Orlando and years later, I’m in my twenties. I end up becoming friends with her sister, and tell her somewhere in a box I still have this autograph. I show it to her and we have a giggle that she probably was sitting next to her or may have even signed it herself back in the day. Whelp when I finally met Kristen her sister proceeded to drunkenly yell “this is the girl who got your autograph and still has it” in the bar we all we hung out at. Cringe? Yes but still a funny story to come full circle 🤣
I'm actually kinda jealous! I love Kirsten Storms! I babysat for some kids who were into Zenon, then Storms went to Days and now my fave, GH. I didn't really watch her on Days, but on GH? Maxie is one of my favorite characters. Kirsten Storms just adds so much sassy, chaotic energy to the role.
This movie was gospel for tweens. We wore our hair like her, we spoke like her. I accepted the future space talk without questions. Thank you for doing this one 😍
It’s fascinating how much girl power there was in dcoms in the 2000’s. They taught me how to be independent and strong and taught me a lot of lessons :)
It's actually we, not us. The easy way to know, is to just move the 'we' or 'us' to the verb, and whichever one makes sense, is the one you use: is it 'We grew up with the dcoms', or 'Us grew up with the dcoms' that makes sense as a statement? I mean, if you care🤷🏾♀️
Fun fact: I met Zenon. Or rather, the girl who played her. She used to date one of the members of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus in like 2007 and I was at their concert... and so was she! My friend got so star struck by her and got a photo with her 🤣
I'm french and really impressed by Jaime's french accent and how she structures her sentences ! This is really "high" grammar structure like the use of "bien que". 👏 👏 Really good (and kind of flattering to hear my language used that well).
I was probably the perfect age for this movie when it came out, probably 12-13 which is I think roughly the age they were aiming for. I always thought it was nice that they made the language a little complicated, because they didn’t dumb it down for young people but had fun sayings that we did actually say and friends and I still joke about now. She was a smart, assertive, caring friend, and communicative young woman. You also see her experience a completely new world that she’s never experienced and been told her whole life it would be nothing like what she sees it is. So she becomes more open minded. It has fun and goofy music, the feeling that parents aren’t listening to or understanding you which is something that a lot of kids that age could relate to. Not to mention, seeing her aunt overcoming her fears to support her niece because she knew she had to. Overall, for the time and age group it’s for, really a good movie. I still would totally watch. She was like our Nancy Drew of space.
Yeah I loved this movie sooo much. It doesn't hold up well but it meant so much to us as young girls! And that song still gets stuck in my head from time to time!!
Yea that was the most frustrating part of this video for me lol. Like yea it definitely would be a complicated plot flor 3 year olds but it was made fr like 11-13 year old. Which is the age range of the first 2 Harry Potter movies. So if tweens can understand Harry Potter then a low concept sci fi shouldn’t be out of there realm of understanding lol. (I’m still not sure if she means literal 3 year olds or if she’s just saying that to be funny and just thinks it’s too complicated for like any kids in general ?)
I love her African Grey! I had a Blue-fronted Amazon and it brings back good memories whenever Ember is on screen. Like, when they laugh exactly like their favourite person. Lucky laughed just like me.
So I remember when this movie came out. I was a tween, so it was meant for me. I can’t say I was confused by all the information thrown at us. I think that I honestly just wasn’t paying attention to those parts. I was just enthralled with the hair, outfits, and stellar general story.

The clip of the NCIS has me sobbing laughing. NCIS is one of my favorite shows and my fiancé always reminds me of this scene because of its “accuracy”. Seeing it on here such a funny surprise!
This was one of the last children's movies that still played the "You're obviously the main character" trope as a faux bad thing. Like everyone is constantly sighing exasperatedly around Zenon as they talk about how beautiful, fun, adventurous, popular, and beloved she is.
My love of holographic ANYTHING came from watchinf Zenon. 😂 I was 9 years old in 1999 when it came out, it was the collest movie ever and i was obsessed with it! Then i grew up and forgot about everything, until i started watchinf Simply Nailogical and discovered holo nail polish was a thing, memories flooded back and now i have a small tote filled with holo polish 😂❤

You know there is an equivalent to the girl falling in Korean and Chinese dramas, but it is even weirder😊 They always fall backwards the male lead catches them around the waist so they look like they are ballroom dancing.
I'll admit I think this kid is the dorkiest little goober looking guy they could've cast as a love interest, but as someone who's experenced a pretty much verbatim exchange to the "I work in a stable. Y'know, horses... it's.. kinda cool..." scene, they kind of nailed the "young guy who's too self aware to even fake acting cool but doesn't know what else to do" charm lmfao
Zenon and everybody did nothing but complain about how lame earth was but when she got there everything looked so warm and nice. The space station was cold and depressing and probably only had like a mile of area to walk around, it's like being stuck in a Podunk town with a nice view out the window. Now as an adult I'm basically Zenons aunt, keep me away from that crap lol. Please do the movie Quints from 2000.
Zenon was legit my life and style icon (in addition to Lizzie McGuire) and as a 32 year old woman I still find myself singing Supernova Girl on the regular and letting slip an occasional "zetus lepetus" 🤣
Zenon was shockingly accurate for how we live today even all those years ago! It was one of the few awesome Disney original movies that was really good. Even the music was good 😂😂
I was a Disney Mom when Disney was still in its hay day and still good. I loved watching all these movies with my kids and miss them being small everyday still. I sure do miss them all living at home and making the house full of love, laughter, and joy. This brings back so many good memories. Thankyou.
Cetus-Lupeedus!!! Zenon Girl of the 21st Century is my favorite Dcom of all time!! I was like 12 when this first came out and I loved everything about it- the way they dressed and talked but I was especially fascinated with seeing their lives on a space station. It was really my first introduction to sci-fi. Now some 25 years later I'm obsessed with learning about the universe, space time, physics, time dialation- thank you so much for doing this movie!!
Aww, that's cool! Zenon is my absolute favorite, too! The hairstyles and outfits were just so cool as a little girl. And just how confident Zenon was in herself and living out in space.
That was the best, & possibly the ONLY, sponsorship ad I’ve ever watched. I miss having parrots😭 I’ve got cats now, & it’s pretty much an either/or kinda choice lol Still love seeing other ppl’s feather babies, tho!
Not me as a kid wishing Microbe was real 🤣🤣 This and the Zequel were my faves as a kid. I styled myself after Zenon for yearsss. I’m shocked you didn’t notice they threw latin around to form slang 🤣 (worth noting, the rays of light from the ground are out if focus grass, and the disc is evidence of their corruption that’s why the baddies wanted it back) Love your content as always ❤
I was 9 in 1999 and this was my favorite. And I was way too excited for the sequels even when we were too old. Even when the actress was too old, she look embarrassed to be doing the role. I still loved it. Millennium BABY we were so hopeful for this scientific future, we had one jube break through. The smart phone and it will probably bring down civilization.
This movie was my childhood, I actually said "Zeedus Lapedis" lol....also, Brink! There was a show called The Torkelsons which I LOVED🤭 Anyone remember it?🤷♀️
I freaking LOVE Storms. She was Simon's girlfriend on 7th Heaven😂😂😂 But I wanted to say, as a child I could NEVER follow plots of movies and I'm so glad other people felt the same. Like I was so relieved as an adult when plots made clear sense to me, I figured I just miraculously wasn't an idiot anymore 😂
The bits with your bird are actually helping me to not have such a intense fear of birds. Usually, even if through a video I like fold myself into my self as if to hide in a non existent shell.
This is my all time favorite Disney channel original movie! This and all its sequels. Love the clothes, the talk and just plain everything about these moves.
Literally every time you watched Disney movies and you saw that dude do a split at the beginning, you knew it was gonna be a bomb af movie. This movie is a testament to that
I remember watching this movie at a friend’s house when we were in 8th grade. We loved it in all of its ridiculousness. I remember the video phones they had and thinking there was no way that was ever going to happen. Turns out I was very wrong.
I blame and thank this movie for imprinting on 5 year old me to make half of my personality. Also love how it ages well and is all ages friendly, like I got my roommates drunk one night and they forgot it was a kids movie. Also also every new name for Zordon you made and edits had me wheezing
This was my favorite movie back in 99. I was 6. I loved how futuristic everything looked and I loved their funky outfits. I remember singing zoom zoom zoom at school with friends even years after 99. As an adult, it definitely looks cheesy, but I love the nostalgia. Also.... we didn't have tablets back in 99 that could do video calls, I always think of this movie when doing FaceTime calls lol
I liked Zenon a lot as a kid and a sci-fi lover, but my favorite was the very very funny and strange Stepsister From Planet Weird. Angsty teen bubble poetry, bad CG, and a really weird specific water sport that everyone seems to be into?? perfect dcom. 10/10
@@christianhippie711 A bunch of them are on Disney+ ! I made my bf watch Mom's got a Date with a Vampire recently & he loved how silly it was😂 Next up, Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off featuring Bobby Flay lolol
This is insane cosmic alignment. I literally just rewatched this movie and I searched last week to see if you had done a review. I guess I searched one week to early! I’m so happy right now!!!
I came back twice to rewatch Ember imitating your laugh and you laughing back at her for the Babbel Ad. Pure gold. This video was exceptionally funny. The editing 😙👌🏻
I heard BrutalMoose describe what the adults wear (specifically Zenon’s mom or aunt? in one scene) in this movie as “business lingerie” in his review and now I can’t think of that silky early 2000s “business attire” without laughing.
I was obsessed with this movie when I was a kid omg 😭 another DCOM I loved was "Get a Clue" starring Lindsay Lohan omg if you reviewed that one too I'd be so happy 🙏
I was 9 when this came out. I was OBSESSED with it and I still love it now. I watched it a couple of years ago and while it’s definitely cheesy, it’s still a fave. I don’t remember thinking it was too much information or too technical with terminology. But I was a space nerd growing up so I ate it all up. When I rewatched it as a 30 year old I don’t remember coming to any realizations or figuring things out that I hadn’t pieced together at 9.
You’re so correct about the confusion for younger ages. I was born in 1996. Every time I watched this movie over the years I felt like I’d learn something new or understand more 😂
Thank you for always bringing laughter to my life and for lifting up my spirit whenever I'm feeling down. You are the most amazing person on TH-cam, you'll forever have my love and support, wishing you all the happiness in your life, you deserve it. ❤️
I was 10 when the movie came out, I remember watching the premier and rewatching it as soon as it ended, Disney Channel used to play premiers back to back, to this day my DAD still remembers the chorus of "supernovagirl"... three yeasr ago I rewatched the trilogy on Disney+ to "insight some 90's pop culture" to my girls I'm 32 now and still to this day love all these cheesy teen movies.
Aww Jamie so glad you seem to be feeling better. Can't believe you pushed through it feeling as awful as you must have been to sit through the movie then wrote your script for the video and all. Thank you for everything u do providing content and fun entertaining videos to watch 💕 you're loved and appreciated ✨️❤️🙏
This was literally one of my favorite movies as a kid. I thought Zenon was so pretty. I always wished I was her when I was little. 😆. I loved the clothes she wore. I haven't seen it in so long! I think I might watch it later. 🤣🤣🤣
I'm a little surprised you didn't mention how Aunt Judy's car is just a new Volkswagen Beetle that makes subtle jet engine sounds 😂😂😂 I love that you finally reviewed this one, and I'm off to go watch it now lol I have to
I love that you mentioned the random woman shouting "Cetus Lepidus" I still think about that random scene every day since I first saw the film back in 1999
My family couldn't afford Disney so I always watched it during the "free trial" periods. I remember seeing this movie and laughing at the Wingdings font also and the phrase "Ceetus Lupeetus!" or whatever has never left my brain. It is to this day the only Disney Channel original I've ever seen 😅
I rewound (rewind-ed) the “runs funny” clip so many times. That voice over was amazing. Also, please always do those Disney channel commercial break clips in all of your videos.
I can't possibly watch this video and not tell you about a time, in 8th grade, when I attended a boy's birthday party and he sat me down in the middle of an audience and performed "Zoom Zoom Zoom" at me, & professed his crush 😳
The Prince sound bite is hilarious every time 😭🤣🤣. Thank you Jaime for being so generous and kind with your talent, you are funny girl! Hugs from Asia 🌺🌺
Cetus-lepeedus is something that I worked into my every vocabulary as a 33 year old lady and I have ZERO regrets. And yes, Supernova Girl is the best song of 99, no debate. Please review the Zequel!
Maxine Lapiduss was a famous comedian-singer-writer-producer on shows like Roseanne and Dharma n Greg. Her sister Sally Lapiduss wrote on more shows from Home Improvement to Hannah Montana.
I’m still obsessed with this movie , this whole aesthetics never left my spirit and soul and I’m glad it’s come back into trend while we’re adults and I can afford to buy things thst remind me of this movie . Like I love this movie so much y’all just don’t understand haha I feel like people don’t remember it the way I do, but the whole series was incredible . We really need to make the lingo and slang from this movie a thing in 2023! Zenons vocabulary is one of my favorite things about the movie haha
The relationship and connection between you and your feather floof bird baby! Incredible! I genuinely enjoyed your advert so much that I watched it thrice. Jaime, if you see this, I just want you to know that you are f**kin’ awesome, sharp, talented, witty, funny, warm, real, adorable, and rad! Thank you for being you and for the truly brilliant content you create. 🙏🌹
I graduated high school in 1999. I feel so old 🤣🤣🤣. The ad with your bird was so good. Your bird is so smart. And your disney channel "mickey ears" moment was 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved this movie growing up, it was just super fun, and a neat fantasy to dream of living in space! And yes, Supernova girl is and will always be a banger!!
I was about 11-12 when this movie came out and I still love it to this day. I just was talking about it at work so watching this just now was so fun. I didn't find the space words confusing, it was more like, "wow this is so the future major." Also now I have to go watch the music video for Supernova Girl...
Been a big fan of your "makeup through the decades" vids on Facebook for a while now. Just very recently got into your makeup & movies and member that? series too. I've been playing them all day in the background while I do stuff, and your presence really lifts my spirits while I'm depressed and just trying to get out of my head. Thanks!! 💓 Love this new direction too, especially the variety!
I loved these when they came out and I was like 11, and my kiddo loved them when she discovered them later around like 8. They were so ridiculously late 90s. And Supernova Girl still SLAPS.
I remember fan girling on this movie so hard when I was a teen I would imagine myself I was Zenon. We even painted a coin with a silver nail polish and pretend we were Zenon. Also had a big crush in Zenon's love interest
I loved this movie so much as a kid (because Raven, pretty colors and Supernova Girl) but I did NOT understand wtf was happening during most of it. I'm glad to see it was just too many words for my feeble-minded 4 yo brain. 😂
Girl, I'm so here for your videos. The way they are edited is absolute perfection. I almost downloaded babble even though I have Duolingo bc that commercial was so great! 🔥 you're hilarious and you make these bad movies into art.
This is the only channel that I will watch the entire video, even the sponsor part too because your sponsor spots (or whatever you want to call them) are also funny so no skipping them EVER! I know for fact that your channel is the ONLY CHANNEL that I don't skip over that part. ❤❤❤
My son was little when this came out. I remember him trying to say that weird whatever lupedis thing they say. It sounded cute when he said it, but it also sounded naughty and disrespectful to the Lord, so I had to make him stop. 🤣
First, 20:18 was absolute gold AF! It caught me off guard and I couldn't stop laughing for 2 solid minutes. Second, I honestly think Margie just wanted to ride in the trunk to pretend what it feels like to be a stowaway fitting into small spaces- hint hint.
This was one of my favorite movies and I wanted to be like zenon because she was so outgoing and confident. Why did Disney have the absolute best original movies at that time omg
Yesss! She was a good role model for us tweens, confident, assertive, and didn't back down. I couldn't believe someone could have such high self esteem. Loved it!!
Every time you mispronounced her name it got funnier! Thank you for all the hard work you do Jaime, this is by far my favorite series on TH-cam!! Much love from Chicago 😊
I was 4 when this came out and watched it every time they replayed it for years following. Of course I caught the sequel, too! I was enthralled by the hair and fashion. I even wore space bun/twists to school when I was 7 or 8 and there is photographic evidence. It was not cool at that time...lol

I am literally obsessed with the bits when she's chatting with her bird. I love it so much. So funny.
Thankyou.
I LOVEDDDDD this movie as a kid & “SuperNova Girl” is still a bop to this day. I loved the song so much that I named my daughter Nova after it 😂😂😂
Can we all agree how freaky it is that the year 2049 seems so much closer than it should?!
You'll never make it another 24 years, so don't worry!
I'm probably gonna be 6 ft. Under by then lol

Now some 25 years later I'm obsessed with learning about the universe, space time, physics, time dialation- thank you so much for doing this movie!!
same 100%! it IS honestly THEE top dcom 🪐🚀
It's definitely a great one!!
My fave was Rip Girls!!🧜🌺🏄🐠
Yessss! Same! ❤️
Aww, that's cool! Zenon is my absolute favorite, too! The hairstyles and outfits were just so cool as a little girl. And just how confident Zenon was in herself and living out in space.
@@betheroo2397 I loved their slang too! Like the Cetus-Lupeedus was their version of OMG!!! 🤣🤣🤣
The effort that you put into these videos is certainly worth it. The ad alone is award-worthy🥰
I never did know how vulnerable I was to cute birds who can advertise ❤️🩹
That was the best, & possibly the ONLY, sponsorship ad I’ve ever watched. I miss having parrots😭 I’ve got cats now, & it’s pretty much an either/or kinda choice lol Still love seeing other ppl’s feather babies, tho!
Not me as a kid wishing Microbe was real 🤣🤣 This and the Zequel were my faves as a kid. I styled myself after Zenon for yearsss.
I’m shocked you didn’t notice they threw latin around to form slang 🤣 (worth noting, the rays of light from the ground are out if focus grass, and the disc is evidence of their corruption that’s why the baddies wanted it back)
Love your content as always ❤
I was 9 in 1999 and this was my favorite. And I was way too excited for the sequels even when we were too old. Even when the actress was too old, she look embarrassed to be doing the role. I still loved it. Millennium BABY we were so hopeful for this scientific future, we had one jube break through. The smart phone and it will probably bring down civilization.
Can’t believe my Girl Ks made three of them lol
The phrase “…I still successfully hated it” is amazing 😂
Yep, it is!
This movie was my childhood, I actually said "Zeedus Lapedis" lol....also, Brink! There was a show called The Torkelsons which I LOVED🤭 Anyone remember it?🤷♀️
Omg loved Brink! Then I learned I couldn't skate I was 12 and 5'11 lmao
I loved the Torkelsons!
Omg yes to Brink and The Torkelsons! Lol
I loooved Brink!
I loved the Torkelsons!
Okay but honestly I’m a year or two older than you and this movie was a BANGERRRR… even though they dressed like Betty Spaghetti dolls 😂
Unlocked a childhood memory, Betty motherfckin Spaghetti
Betty Spaghetti man that’s something I haven’t heard in years
Betty spaghetti!!!!!! Finally someone else who can validate my weird childhood memories
Loveddd my Betty Spaghettis and their super shiny outfits
@@TheKnallkorper hang out here and they will all be validated!
I freaking LOVE Storms. She was Simon's girlfriend on 7th Heaven😂😂😂
But I wanted to say, as a child I could NEVER follow plots of movies and I'm so glad other people felt the same.
Same!!!
Stoppp I loved this movie so much 😂 my whole childhood right here.
My supernova girl 😂
Also, PLEASE cover the sequel 🙏

There was a part 3 as well!
@carlyst2922 my bad on the spelling lol
🗣️MAKE MY HEART GO BOOM BOOM 😭
Yes to all of this! I was also 6 and I once recorded Zoom Zoom Zoom on a tape and had my teacher play it for me and my friends during snack time. 😂
I liked Zenon a lot as a kid and a sci-fi lover, but my favorite was the very very funny and strange Stepsister From Planet Weird. Angsty teen bubble poetry, bad CG, and a really weird specific water sport that everyone seems to be into?? perfect dcom. 10/10
Please make this a series and do all of the Zenon movies. Also would love to see a bunch of the other DCOMs from this time.
please for the love of god do Luck Of The Irish - I remember it being SO bad 🤣
@@MollyElizabethBrigit oh my god 🤣😂 yall are making me wanna watch disney movies soooo bad now!
@@christianhippie711 A bunch of them are on Disney+ ! I made my bf watch Mom's got a Date with a Vampire recently & he loved how silly it was😂 Next up, Eddie's Million Dollar Cook-Off featuring Bobby Flay lolol
"JESUS CHRIST!" was my reaction when she fell down the stairs!! That fall was GNARLY!!! I couldn't even laugh😢
I legitimately remember the words to that movie’s song 😂 memories are weird
Get a Clue was so good!
thank you so much that was so sweet of you! it means a lot
Crazy to think that when this was created video call didn't actually exist in real life yet. Soooo futuristic!
I'm a little surprised you didn't mention how Aunt Judy's car is just a new Volkswagen Beetle that makes subtle jet engine sounds 😂😂😂 I love that you finally reviewed this one, and I'm off to go watch it now lol I have to
Omg I loved this era of TV Disney movies. You should do confessions of a teenage drama queen, Jaime!
@JaimeFrench
omg yes
I love that you mentioned the random woman shouting "Cetus Lepidus" I still think about that random scene every day since I first saw the film back in 1999
"He be like, 'I'm in'...even more." I'm weak... 😅
that was one of the best sponsor commercial, i even cry cause of how sweet it was! Your parrot is sooo amazing
This just confirms that I didn’t imagine this entire movie, and it’s a pretty big relief, I can’t lie
You are so funny!!!! “Featuring a cheetah girl” and your skit with the bird is perfection
Big saaaame
That's a blessing not a curse
I rewound (rewind-ed) the “runs funny” clip so many times. That voice over was amazing. Also, please always do those Disney channel commercial break clips in all of your videos.
I can't possibly watch this video and not tell you about a time, in 8th grade, when I attended a boy's birthday party and he sat me down in the middle of an audience and performed "Zoom Zoom Zoom" at me, & professed his crush 😳
I would have been so embarrassed 😳
I just got second-hand embarrassment 😂😂
I always randomly sing “Zoom zoom zoom” finally someone’s talking about this iconic trilogy. Absolutely love these movies 😭
I'm so sorry but your bird really pulls at my heart strings and every time she's in your videos, I fall in love every time.
Thanks!! 💓
Love this new direction too, especially the variety!
I loved these when they came out and I was like 11, and my kiddo loved them when she discovered them later around like 8. They were so ridiculously late 90s. And Supernova Girl still SLAPS.
Don't say "slaps" when talking about the 90s.

I loved this movie so much as a kid (because Raven, pretty colors and Supernova Girl) but I did NOT understand wtf was happening during most of it.
I'm glad to see it was just too many words for my feeble-minded 4 yo brain. 😂

I knew one day we'd finally make it here. Thank you for finally doing the best Disney channel film of my childhood outside of Brink 🤩😆
Brink! was such a fantastic movie 🤗
My son was little when this came out. I remember him trying to say that weird whatever lupedis thing they say. It sounded cute when he said it, but it also sounded naughty and disrespectful to the Lord, so I had to make him stop. 🤣
The birdie at the beginning makes me so happy! How cute!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved it!!
