    While no mechanic myself, I agree with the gent that said hydro locked. And if you do get liquid out of the injector or glow plug holes, pay attention to what it is. Water, coolant, oil or diesel. That can show you what to expect.

    Most case engines are sleeved. Which mean you can easily change the pistons and sleeves (the cyclinder liners) and basically have a new engine, the crank shaft and bearings are usually still good. Their is a company called agi kits that sells a low cost rebuild kits on line.

    • @BradenBuildz
      @BradenBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I think they sell a kit for this machine. I believe the 3034T which is the engine the 246 has is sleeveless. So I will have to get .50 over bored most likely but we will see.

    This ain't nothing I bought from the scrap pile in aution two of these one was disassembled no wheels or nothing! All on big pallets and the other had a engine fire! All the plastic and electronics were melted! I reassembled the other one and used the engine out of the burnt one. Apparently the one that was disassembled was stripped down repainted and all new hydraulic hoses and cylinders new tires all 4 was being rebuilt the guy died and the wife sold it all on auction. I paid 400 for both! Got bucket and forks with it and a brush attachment. Best 400 I've spent. Was a pain in the butt to scrape all that melted plastic off the engine

    Before you start just pulling the engine, check that the hydraulic pump or some other accessory isn’t what’s actually locked up. Also pull the injectors or glow plugs(if it has them) and try cracking the engine then. Lots of things could be the issue other than just the engine.

    • @BradenBuildz
      @BradenBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Thanks. I pulled the injectors and there is shiny metal flakes in the cylinders sooo. But I appreciate the comment. Wouldn’t of thought about it being a pump issue. Pump seems to do its think as it built pressure when engine would turn.

    I would recommend using a thread locker instead of torque seal. Torque seal’s purpose is to have a visual identification if the fastener has become loose after final torque. Threadlocker would suit you better in what you are trying to do with it.

    • @BradenBuildz
      @BradenBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly thought that thread seal was just a weaker thread locker. Didn’t realize that was the stuff that people use as visual id to check if something has been loosened. Found it in a project car and figured I’d burn it up lol. Should still make it more difficult for the nuts to come off since it dries hard.

  • @brock50pullingvideos
    @brock50pullingvideos 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    I almost bet it is hydrolocked. Pull the injectors and take a peek down in the cylinders with one of those cameras you hook up to your cell phone. The way that engine was shaking and torqueing when it started up was not good.

    • @BradenBuildz
      @BradenBuildz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s actually a really good idea. But would that explain the reason its hard to start?
      I’m really not experienced with diesels at all so I would have never thought about that. That’s probably the fate of this engine besides the turbo being bad. I’m going to test the injectors before I pull the engine but hopefully I didn’t cause anymore damage running it.

    there was a reason it was torn apart and then sold, the first thing you should have done is at least pulled off the valve cover and see what/s going on inside, and then the head. my guess is it got flooded or water inside and you may have vapor locked it in the least.it was going to cost the last owner too much money in labor to fix so they sold it. as far as don't know what that is" 9:31 it's called a filter wrench.

    At your age, your missteps and extravagant editing are understandable.
    Coming from a retired heavy equipment mechanic, somebody took it apart for a reason. A probable major issue. Before putting it back together and doing a blind startup, while it is already partially disassembled, a compression test is administered, the valve cover comes off, then the head comes off for further inspection to assess for mechanical viability.
    For a kid with $s to spend and time to play with, beginners mistakes are part of growing a resume of experience.
    I think all plugged in music in mechanic and landscaping vids blows goobers. The add-ins ~ . . . comment suppressed.
