I was half expecting them to interview Gordon and have him just stare silently while the camera man awkwardly tries to get him to explain their anomalous materials labs.
Better he opens his mouth but the room distorts to after the resonance cascade before quickly shifting to a different scene.

I love how everyone on Steam is complaining that this costs money. Oh no! These developers spent almost a decade on a huge project and suddenly want to be compensated for their work! How dare they!
OurWoRLd319 The problem is the fact they are charging for an unfinished product with dead multiplayer. Xen has not been added and it's 2019. That is 11 years and no Xen. It's been 6 years with Xen still not released...
Is what I WAS saying, but Xen is here! It’s finally out of beta and a finished product. All the other parts have been enhanced and fixed up to be up to the usual modern game standards (but MSAA is strangely MIA). And the latest patch 1.5 also fixes some gripes I’ve had since the beginning of it being on Steam. You could say it was worth the weight
Xen will be completely different than Half-Life 1, and will be much longer as well, they're taking their time making it, so that Black Mesa's imagining of Xen is the best it can be.

You know what, that would be cool. Maybe the first "season" could be Black Mesa VS. Aperture Laboratories and the Xen experiments, "Season 2" could be the Resonance Cascade and the Seven Hour War and "Season 3" could be the Combine VS. The Rebels.
The closest we have to a HL Analog Horror series is English Japan Media.

I’d love to see a game where you just get to explore a pre-incident Black Mesa, all the tunnels, the mundane labs, etc.
I’ve heard that there are actually pre disaster mods out there, but I’m not exactly sure.
Also it seems we have in common as I also want to do that, especially paired with the VOX announcements in the background.

And since it was shown on tvs (in the half life universe), he was probably angry because he embarrassed him self trying to maintain a smile on his face.

But sadly, time for people on Steam to complain that they have to pay money to obtain something that took 8 years of work.
It's just that the mod was free at first and most of us played it and now that it costs money feels like a light kick in the balls. It's completely fair, they want to make some money. It just sucks I have to pay money =P

I assume you weren't following this game before it was released Free a few years back. They said it was a free mod. It. sure is worth $20, but they kept a promise saying that it was suppose to be free.
I've had this game since the day it came out a few years back, but to pay $20 just for the Xen chapter and the Multiplayer that may never be used, seems a waste.
Gmanmovies09 uuh, supporting content creators for something they've made doesn't sound like a rip off to me. Also, if the multiplayer is anything like HL1 it will last for at least a year.

I love this trailer. I don't know why, but it gives me the feeling of... Nostalgia, horror and everything at the same time. Even at the final part:
"Shut it down!" While G-Man appears and those scientists screaming for that and demostrating the Cascade being destroyed... Is amazing how the creator of this trailer managed to get us in that world...
I love how they added the people laughing in the background of the Marine's clip.

It took me until just this second to realize the voice of the marine is Michael Tsarouhas, the creator and lead developer of the Insurgency series. That's fucking badass.
He's a really good voice actor too

Was this played out to VHS and then recaptured after damaging the tape? It has a similar feel to the Alien isolation trailers which used the same trick in parts. Really lovely work.
If the effect is done in AE or Premiere I'd be very impressed (and be immediately asking for the effects plugins).

Ill add that some of the editing was done with the vhs decks to get the tape tracking noise
It's a simple effect but it comes out very well. Adds a lot of personality to the trailer.

Set the speed to the 2nd lowest and it gets pretty unsettling though. However the hecu guy sounds like he's drunk

People, this is our chance to show Valve, Bethesda, and everyone else, how paid mods are supposed to work. This is how Counterstrike and Day of Defeat and Red Orchestra and so many other epic games went retail, remember? This isn't the Skyrim Workshop fiasco, this is an excellent mod that spent an incredible amount of time in development and was released for free (AND STILL IS FREE FOR THE INITIAL RELEASE, GO DOWNLOAD IT IF YOU DONT BELIEVE ME), and the developers have managed to craft a complete overhaul that turns it into a full fledged retail product with all that implies. If it is broken for any reason, they now do have certain obligations to address those issues with support staff and such as an official Steam release, instead of the vague 24-hour refund periods and Valve telling you to "politely ask the devs" to fix any gamebreaking crashes. They had to get approval through Greenlight, which they did, overwhelmingly so. They are sharing many assets with the mod community. This is not the same as WorkshopGate, please, gamers, lets make this work. Lets restore the status quo. Make this mod a success. Show the companies and modders what we want. A way to truly support the modders who churn out the truly epic cash-worthy projects. This isn't $5 for a reskinned glass sword, third party horse armor, this is BLACK MESA SOURCE. We've known about this mod going retail for some time now. This is not a shot out of the blue.
*THIS. IS. OUR. CHANCE.* Make it work. Now more then ever, it's vital we do.

Well, considering the amount of people complaining about this being sold, I think we are showing the opposite reaction of what you just said.

I think it's obvious who the majority really is, even if they prefer to stick to thumbs rather then comments. Plus there's the whole "Black Mesa being one of the top sellers on Steam as of posting" thing.
Black Mesa isn't a mod any more. It's a standalone game.

(Besides if they don't keep the versions in parity then it's still not really an optional payment to be clear, while it's nice to know the free version WILL be updated it's clearly them incentivizing paying for the game, if anything they should have released the game free then had a "Digital Deluxe" version or something that included extra content or simply stated it was a "donation", I have a strong feeling they'll try to keep the free one hidden.)
