I think the reason is this trailer was made using half life 2 models, while gordon freeman's model is not present in hl2 game files (if you use a third person view in hl2 you'll just see a black place holder instead of gordon)

I remember when this trailer first came out. It was beautiful for many reasons. Now all the Fortnite zoomers are discovering it with a different context. At least I'm glad they're learning that Epic wasn't the first one to do a parody. And even learning that it IS a parody.
