The development on the financial aspect of the game really appeals to me. The financials within FM have always been simplified to the point of being pretty much irrelevent outside of (season) ticket sales, wages, transfers and prize money. There's little other means you have to balance the books and that is especially important in lower league management. You won't make a lot of money off of transfers, tickets and prize money. So I hope that when you have a clearer picture of where the money comes from and goes to, you have more chances of improving on both ends.
I honestly do not understand, why you cannot be more in control of finances. Negotiate new deals, and so on. Would add a bit more depth imo on quite a scale.
I think lower league finances were actually not bad, problem is it's not dynamic enough. If you progress through the leagues sponsorship doesn't keep up, in fact you're probably winning CL multiple times before sponsorship isn't dead last in the league. Or TV deals and reward structure when building a nation. If they make stuff like that more dynamic it'll be huge.
@@Draddar they're not bad, I totally second that. But they're limited in their depth and in which ways you can influence them. Agree they're not dynamic enough, though I do get the approach by SI up to a point in that regard. When you get promoted 2 years straight from League 1 to the Premier League for instance, it's quite logical that sponsors won't immediately flock to you to make multi-year deals for huge amounts of money. What if you'd get relegated again for instance. So the development of finances lagging behind your showings on the pitch is realistic and a good thing overall imo. Though I do agree they tend to lag behind too much in FM for it to still be an enjoyable experience. SI can pretend FM is a simulator all they want, it's still a game that people have to be able to enjoy primarily.

Man, I hope the Saudi League makes it to FM. As a Saudi who has been playing Football Manager since CM 99/00 I'd love to manage my local football club.
Can they get rid of those stupid orange arrows across all trainable attributes that effect 5 players minimum every month? (Players aged under 24.) You know the ones I'm talking about; young players regressing in every significant attribute because of 1 week of training that affects them for the entire month, despite getting the perfect amount of gametime, man-management, form ratings, SOA facilities & elite coaches, development arc & potential etc. A guy tested it in 2018 and basically the reason why this happens is because -- no, contrary to popular belief it's nothing to do with fatigue (which would be stupid considering young players don't regress if they get too much gametime irl,) personality, mentoring, training regimes etc -- the game has a cap on how many players can have a Current Ability of 160 for example at any given time, so if too many players develop into a 160 CA, it randomly nerfs players from around the game with no logical reason. *This is a fundamental flaw in the development system.* It annoys me how the FM community just accepts it like it's not. *There should be no cap.* Players keep getting better & better in higher volumes due to innovations in sports science, nutrition etc. There is no good reason why there can be no more than 5 185+ CA players in the game at any given time unless you're going to account for the inflation of talent into the future. And no, it doesn't simply ''come back after a few months'' or is ''insignificant,'' I've tested that too and a good percentage is permanent -- and even if it was, you could just as easily argue that's development you should have gotten anyway, so you've still lost out because of a lazy, stubborn development engine that everyone just seems to accept (which is probably why it hasn't been fixed in over 5 years.) It ruins the whole game for me & I probably won't buy a copy until it's fixed. It annoys me 10x more than green arrows give me joy. Ruins the game for me.
The problem Z like when you got told you wouldn't pass ffp yet were always going too. If they don't add this negative transfer budget right you could lose players by board sales. Beta testing needs to get this ironed out.
Hopefully, squad building will apply to MLS so it becomes enjoyable past year 1. Kinda tired to see teams signing 10 millions dollars DP player, only to not register him...
Hey that felt way too personal. My team in FM23 did go into administration, I still won the league with the 9 point deduction and the administrators sold my 18 year old wonderkid left back for 45m. I still have 204million left on my teams "Company Voluntary Agreement" worth of debt as well, so that feature was very much in FM23 lol. My dads an accountant as well, and yes I did have fun.
I'm currently struggling with my create-a-club save with being unable to offload players and having been promoted every single season (because I gave the club max reputation), some star players are quickly made redundant when they enter a keague they're clearly not good enough but got to high wages to offload. To make matters worse, the board had to wait only one more season for my finance to be very good and then they said they'll build a 140,000 stadium nearly billion pounds to make... I'm gonna be in soooo much debt until we move into the stadium and pack it out!
I like how they describe the current issues with offloading players as "this is how it goes for real clubs" as if a striker from a mid German league team will demand to move club, then continually will knock back 7x their wages in the premier league over and over again for absolutely no reason whatsoever, while simultaneously destroying your squad morale because your "not doing enough" to sell him. Just admit you messed up FM it's never been this difficult in any of the past games.
I literally have to use the editor to make proper deals and loans. Clubs that could actually the player I am selling/loaning and for a fair price to both of them. Playing the agent is fun to me. I hope the intermediary feature will be of any help, so I don't have to use the editor, but I sincerelly doubt it. Also, they didn't mention if they work for arranging loans.
What needs to be made more realistic is that when you add a player to the development list, the loan manager shouldn't accept offers from clubs one or two leagues lower, especially for fringe playing time. For instance, my 5-star potential ability and 2-star current ability 17-year-old Wonderkid player being sent to League Two seems unrealistic when he is clearly Championship standard. I've tried different loan managers, but the result is the same; around 50% of loan transfers end up like this. Additionally, when we loan someone out or offer contracts to players, the possibility of monthly fees, salary contributions, and other financial aspects should be recommended by financial staff because new players don't know the range, and the same goes for offering contracts to players. These recommended offers may sometimes be too far apart, but having some base is more realistic, as in the real football world.
Most mental stats should develop more after 26. Aggression and work rate might slow down but im sure Modric would say his decision making and leadership improves with age.
Anyone else think that some “tendencies” for a DoF might be added to the game (willing to make late deals” “prefers to conclude transfer business early” type thing?
I'm pumped that set pieces are getting an update. I can't wait to see you cover the ONE SENTENCE that says that in the next video. 😂 Fr though, I was reading the feature blog page and at the end they just casually drop that they're updating set-pieces with one inconspicuous sentence...
If they added all this stuff that's going to create even more player/agent interactions and didn't address the current problems with interactions... I actually wouldn't be even slightly surprised.
FM claiming sales in the game is realistic 😂 Just my last save i had the best player in the Portuguese league by a long shot (Pepê Aquino), with most goals and assists on low wages and it would be almost impossible to get interests after offering him way below market price, after all that i had enough experiences dealing with three-four players in a row rejecting contract offers from other clubs even after asking to be sold. So even by a miracle i can attract clubs to buy some of best bargains around the chances i can offload them seem almost 50/50. Same situation happened with Mathias Olivera after having the fourth-fifth best average in the league as a rotation player and being awarded player of the tournament in the World Cup he got no interest.
Haaland is on 86 goals on my FM23 Achievements save. It's laughable. Played 33 EPL, currently on 57 league goals. Five matches to score 4 goals to beat Dixie Dean. I'm only playing for achievements and reward points, I literally started a new game on day one and haven't even thought of getting the ingame editor. He's a machine. As a Derby fan it's nice to see how the other half live :)
you missed the part about the wages where it says that if you cannot pay your players wages the player association will step in and we will be under a transfer embargo untill we repaid their wages. Well they must have Greek top & lower leagues in mind this happens all the time here ..
eh fm25 will be in unity engine? but with unity fiasco couple weeks ago is it going to be a wise move? understand that unity pull back their decision due to backlash, but there is no guarantee they wont do any shenanigans in the future i think SI need to rethink, investing development in an engine is expensive unless the development phase for fm25 already started then... best of luck to them
I am sure they have started. The SI guys would have been learning about unity, how to use it, planning etc etc. I am considering the time that goes into games etc and the work involved. We are 1 year out from the FM25 alpha.
I think they are preparing the game for serious esports competitions in which real cash will be earned or burnt. FFP seriousness is relevant to that approaching fact.
Generally like this overhaul. But the main thing is making it more difficult to sign players. We all know the game is too easy once you've worked out what generally floats each ME's boat. Making signing players more difficult will help to counter some of that.
Intermediary sounds good on paper but is probably just another way for your players to be pissed off with you for trying to get rid which then means said player upsets the entire squad and call a team meeting to tell you just how upset they are.
Fingers crossed Dynamic Youth Rating will be coming to FM24 or maybe FM25 🤞 I will not be satisfied until I've turned Wales into one of the worlds most competitive international teams with wonderkids out the wazoo.
You remember how in the Taunton save the FFP-calculations was constantly f*ckd? Then consider SIs record of fixing stuff in their games, yeah new FFP will be fine.. Its not like they have a record of not fixing the broken parts of their games, instead focusing on introducing new features to justify the yearly release schedule…
I really hope they improve the playing ability of teams with greyed out players, i recently beat Red Star 5-0 overall in the cl playoffs with a latvian team that (according to the pre season preview) isnt even the best team from latvia, and tbh it kind of ruined the safe for me, beeing flooded with cl cash when my top earner is on 1k euro per week
The entirety of my career successes in FM23 can be atributted solely to squad building. My own and that of the AI, which is poor AT BEST. So I'm glad they're fixing it. Your competitors do always seem to get worse over time. Good players released for no reason and what not. Glad to see it.
I was under the assumption they already are developing the match engine for FM25 on unity. Purely because of time needed. The match engine guys at SI need to learn the system to implement the game to it. Which takes time.
this might seems good for some of us but what about the many who don't understand much now,who know about wonderkids only because some youtubers shows them, how will those manage a harder FM? already without tools that show youth potential is impossible for many, which personally I don't use,I prefer to trust scouts and my flair and if we are wrong,so be it...pretty much every franchize I follow makes games more graphical and more easy...just saying
Not sure why FM doesnt hire you for there trailers i saw the trailer, and even read the FM 24 updates blogs and generally thought - Meh But watching you explain and highlight stuff makes ones reconsider and think ummm 😉
I swear the early developers was already a thing...except it happened to all of my players. My players consistently reach their top potential by the time they're at most 21. As in the white potential star disappears before they reach the age of 22 and they just stop getting better. It has happened to 9 of the 11 players in my current starting line up. Sure, they still turned into players good enough for a CL team, but not into the worldbeaters I thought they could turn into.
White stars always disappear at 22 and potential is kind of "locked in". But the stars are still only compared to your squad and are provided by one of your staff members (probably a coach). So never totally reliable and also influenced by form. And can still change afterwards as well. And the point is, currently early development is the main thing, you don't really have late bloomers, but that's kind of going to change.
@@thargoff i KNOW that the white stars disappear for everyone at 22, that's why I'm making my point that all of my players reach their potential before they're 21, as in the white star disappears. I have a 19 year old with 4 stars current and potential right now for example. Two 21 year olds with the same. It keeps on happening. I am aware that their potential is set, that has nothing to do with my point. I also know that it is in relation to my squad, but that also has nothing to do with my point. My point is that players already reach their potential REALLY quickly, and I don't want to see that even more exaggerated.
@@AdamPersson But the whole point is that now they can develop even later, you don't have to wonderkid hoard and some players will develop later and not when very young. What you describe is the current situation and what changes is that now they can also develop later if they hadn't until 21. You develop your players well but the AI doesn't. Now especially if you are not a top club, you can take the potential more into account for players that are older than 21-22. Until now that wasn't the case. Or you need to be more patient because maybe a not so quickly developing player right now might be a late bloomer and fulfills their potential later.
@@thargoff I know. That's not the part of the information I'm talking about. The way I interpreted what they wrote was that they made it so that some develop early and some later. But that would mean that what they have now is the baseline, and early would be even earlier. That's what I'm reacting to. I don't interpret what they said as "Now people are developing early, so we'll start letting some develop later." I interpret it as "We change development to where some develop early and some late". Maybe that's me misinterpreting what they said, but that's the part I'm talking about here. I know all of the things you've been mentioning, and perhaps it's my fault for not being clear but none of it has been directly related to what I've been talking about.
@@AdamPersson they can’t change to earlier because currently most development is from the time they come through the youth intake until 18/21, they can’t move it to be even earlier. I don’t understand it that way at all.

Let the teasing commence, but I'm quite excited about the new finances aspect of the game
And no, it doesn't simply ''come back after a few months'' or is ''insignificant,'' I've tested that too and a good percentage is permanent -- and even if it was, you could just as easily argue that's development you should have gotten anyway, so you've still lost out because of a lazy, stubborn development engine that everyone just seems to accept (which is probably why it hasn't been fixed in over 5 years.)
It ruins the whole game for me & I probably won't buy a copy until it's fixed. It annoys me 10x more than green arrows give me joy. Ruins the game for me.
The problem Z like when you got told you wouldn't pass ffp yet were always going too. If they don't add this negative transfer budget right you could lose players by board sales. Beta testing needs to get this ironed out.
i'll be interested how it works? how the board sells players that nobody has any interest in whatsoever when i try to sell them or loan them out?
Hopefully, squad building will apply to MLS so it becomes enjoyable past year 1. Kinda tired to see teams signing 10 millions dollars DP player, only to not register him...
Hopefully they will take a look to those unbelievable prices tag too
In before there's a bug where the board thinks you're bankrupt when you're not and starts selling your key players for no reason.
Does anyone else have out of sync audio on this video? If not, can I fix it? (Not exactly a tech-pro)
It would be nice if we could edit the manager career history or choosing a existing manager or choose club U19 club teams to coach
Are AFC Richmond in FM24, just like how Harchester United were in FM06?
Intermediarys have been retiring on us(utd)for years
I'm currently struggling with my create-a-club save with being unable to offload players and having been promoted every single season (because I gave the club max reputation), some star players are quickly made redundant when they enter a keague they're clearly not good enough but got to high wages to offload.
Vardi was drinking Red Bulls and not Monsters Zealand. Missed big money sponsorship deal here :D
I can't wait for Zealand's reaction for when the set piece revamp is announced ;)
You may have to wait a long time...
@@mrtibbs139 it'll be coming sooner than you think :)
EBFM mention, nice 😄
Anyone else think that some “tendencies” for a DoF might be added to the game (willing to make late deals” “prefers to conclude transfer business early” type thing?
Sports Interactive should hire Zealand to present the new features each year 😃
I'm pumped that set pieces are getting an update. I can't wait to see you cover the ONE SENTENCE that says that in the next video. 😂 Fr though, I was reading the feature blog page and at the end they just casually drop that they're updating set-pieces with one inconspicuous sentence...
There will be a separate blogpost this week that will discuss set pieces. It hasn't been released yet.
@@thargoff yo pog
Changes in the way players develop? Oh great, sounds like I have to redo my Training Analysis series all over again 😫
@Zealand @0:10 yes it is dattebayo
you missed the part about the wages where it says that if you cannot pay your players wages the player association will step in and we will be under a transfer embargo untill we repaid their wages. Well they must have Greek top & lower leagues in mind this happens all the time here ..
eh fm25 will be in unity engine?
but with unity fiasco couple weeks ago is it going to be a wise move?
understand that unity pull back their decision due to backlash, but there is no guarantee they wont do any shenanigans in the future
i think SI need to rethink, investing development in an engine is expensive
unless the development phase for fm25 already started then... best of luck to them
I am sure they have started. The SI guys would have been learning about unity, how to use it, planning etc etc. I am considering the time that goes into games etc and the work involved. We are 1 year out from the FM25 alpha.
Squad size limits?? How will I be able to buy all wonderkids from each year
4:33 Those calves I mean
I think they are preparing the game for serious esports competitions in which real cash will be earned or burnt. FFP seriousness is relevant to that approaching fact.
wondering if the recent Unity turmoil could change things in regard to fm
Doubt it, Unity already had 'special' deals with the bigger studios/publishers.
Generally like this overhaul. But the main thing is making it more difficult to sign players. We all know the game is too easy once you've worked out what generally floats each ME's boat. Making signing players more difficult will help to counter some of that.
I hope they add the regional leagues in to fm24! Only being able to go as low as vanarama leagues kind of sucks!
Intermediary sounds good on paper but is probably just another way for your players to be pissed off with you for trying to get rid which then means said player upsets the entire squad and call a team meeting to tell you just how upset they are.
Given what Unity announced with its' cost structure to developers, I doubt they go that way now.
They might go for the Unreal route
Fingers crossed Dynamic Youth Rating will be coming to FM24 or maybe FM25 🤞
I will not be satisfied until I've turned Wales into one of the worlds most competitive international teams with wonderkids out the wazoo.
I would love to be able to make advertiser deals.
I'm absolutely a finance nerd. I'm so hyped.
Intermediearie ? Fabrizio Romano Finally in FM now 😱
I really hope they improve the playing ability of teams with greyed out players, i recently beat Red Star 5-0 overall in the cl playoffs with a latvian team that (according to the pre season preview) isnt even the best team from latvia, and tbh it kind of ruined the safe for me, beeing flooded with cl cash when my top earner is on 1k euro per week
This was uploaded at 6am eastern time and I'm angry i didn't notice until 8am. (I was asleep)
The entirety of my career successes in FM23 can be atributted solely to squad building. My own and that of the AI, which is poor AT BEST. So I'm glad they're fixing it. Your competitors do always seem to get worse over time. Good players released for no reason and what not. Glad to see it.
Anyone knows whether they are going to update the newgens?
I wish they would make the console version closer to the experience of the pc version
CVAs added to the game? my time as a pompey fan is about to come full circle -______-
is FM still going to unity since the whole y'know unity thing??
I was under the assumption they already are developing the match engine for FM25 on unity. Purely because of time needed. The match engine guys at SI need to learn the system to implement the game to it. Which takes time.
So we hire Sven Mislintat and he will get us great players for our team. Cause the AI is smart now!
this might seems good for some of us but what about the many who don't understand much now,who know about wonderkids only because some youtubers shows them, how will those manage a harder FM? already without tools that show youth potential is impossible for many, which personally I don't use,I prefer to trust scouts and my flair and if we are wrong,so be it...pretty much every franchize I follow makes games more graphical and more easy...just saying
After unity has imploded are we sure do will still transfer over.
Fully intend to make my first save Southend United so will
Likely be straight into administration and maybe back out and in again 😂
Will these features also come to Xbox/PlayStation or just PC?
I want to know how they will adjust Saudi Arabia's strength in the transfer market and their endless money for transfers.
Not sure why FM doesnt hire you for there trailers i saw the trailer, and even read the FM 24 updates blogs and generally thought - Meh
But watching you explain and highlight stuff makes ones reconsider and think ummm
😉
Have they announced if substitute Goalkeepers will ever be needed!?
I hope these changes come to Console version too
I alredy pre-ordered it I just had to something was draging me to do it and I just couldnt say no and just clicked buy button 😅😅😅😅 Well at least I got a good deal I pre-ordered it for 30 euros
Zealand your a bit slow on the uptake of the new releases ? There have been 4 new release events and this is all you have done and this particular release in over a week old ? Are you feeling ok !!
"You can now transfer your save from FM23 to FM24"
As somebody who only buys FM every other year: k.
RIP Offer to Clubs button. We had a good run.
Really wondering how the Unity price change will affect FM's move to Unity
Unity huh... We'll see about that.
Tifo has a video about transferroom
I’m an accountant and chose to bankrupt my club Southampton went into CVA and then lost pts of my players and just waited for a takeover them ruin the club again
Your knee was a bad written joke. Shout out FNG one of these days
