    Football Manager throws so much information at you from scouting to tactics to coaches that it is worth making this video on its own. You need to know what information you can ignore on FM so you can focus on the stuff that matters. The wonderkid hunting and the whole beating PSG thing that we talk so much about. Filtering information so you can move along with your save also just helps Football Manager feel better as a game, which is good for you and it’s good for me because then you watch more of my FM videos or something.
    I know it’s almost a surprise that we’re back with Football Manager content after all this time. It is well overdue. It’s almost like coming back to play the hits after making a new album as a band. This is what we do, this is my comfort zone, and I am glad that Football Manager allowed us to finish this list in time to make this video. It took a weirdly long amount of time to actually put the list together, waiting for the answers to come.
    Much Love,
    FM Senpai

    One thing that affect the value of the player is world reputation, everytime I want to find a wonderkid, I will always find players who have 1 to 2 star reputation because they are always on the cheaper end, usually cost less than 10mil for 1 star and 2 star could be around 30mil. That's why EPL usually are a bad league to buy players because even a lot of average players could cost up to 30-40mil because of the reputation of EPL. It's something I randomly find out.

    The whole transfer value thing is true, and if you keep your cool, you'll get the player's actual value, not the "you play in weak league, therefore your player is worth less" value. Had a literal world class player in my Nordsjælland save (21 years, 177 CA, 184 PA - checked after sale), and the big clubs were throwing lowball garbage in the €15-20M range at the start of the transfer window. Doing a Norsjaelland save too...
      I'm really struggling to get good transfer offers. I can't give my best players new contracts because their agents ALWAYS set non-negotiable release clauses even below the estimated current value.
      I don't know if a mod like Daveincid's Increase Realism Megapack affects that so much nowadays...I have done a Nordsjaelland save already a few months ago and I actually got minimum twice as much for the same players. Jakob Christensen, Abu Francis, Adam Nagalo, ... got over 40m for them combined in the previous save after the first year, now I just get like 15m for them combined after the first year. The success in Season 1 was pretty much the same in both saves.

    Here's an idea to test & make a video on: can you use friendlies to increase your fanbase? Every time there are international games on, it's pretty easy to get wins over some big teams with most of their best players unavailable. Does this increase your fanbase & does playing at home or away make a difference? What about pre-season tours - is doing a tour in Asia better than a few home matches?

    Stars actually are pretty accurate, but you need to have the right view on and the staff to interpret it. i.e. if you assistant coach doesn't have 20/20 potential/actual switch to another coach who does. Or you will need to switch to another view with a scouts view. Yes Zealand is right, player foot etc. does use up a players point total. e.g. a 4 star has 250 points and multi footed costs 20 points. However, it means his total points add up to 250 and is worth 4 stars. Yes an inactive player or who's on a crap team, could look like less a star. However, unless he's young and still growing, he's not going to jump up 2 stars. He can quickly regain 10/20 points and jump up a star.

    Normally I found stars did give me a okay estimate of a players ability up until I had one player on my scout report. The player was a striker and had all 16+ stats for AF except for passing which was like 14 or smthn. He was 2.5 stars, no I’m not playing a god tier team, I am 9th in the bundesliga with a Wolfsburg team I just picked up from a manager who got sacked, I would probably struggle to qualify for CL even over a whole season with my team, no way that guy should have ever been 2.5 stars.

    • @alexandereisenbruck672
      @alexandereisenbruck672 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is also affected by the scouts you have.. if their judging of ability is 10/20.. it may at 2/5* mean hes 0.5* but also 5*. If we take 20/20 at everything scout is precise.. 15/20 is like 75%.. so he still could be 4*.

    To the point #1 concerning 100m+ for a player freshly signed for 45m+, the game calculates the estimated value based on multiple factors. I've learnt that too having a 3-5m on top of the price I paid for the players for their first season at the club, then regardless of their and club performances their value dropped because my league is bumping between 10-13th place. It just estimates that this player is absolute star and transfer record for the club hence you are unlikely to get rid off him but next season it will drop. I wonder what do you think about the value estimated by the club staff as an asking price - is it accurate or not? I never know whether I should really sell them below that estimated price or not.

      Some of that is the value of the contract. The base value will be wages (weakly wage x 52) x contract length. Then other things such as form, importance etc add to it. So if they are out of form and unhappy about not playing enough value will tank, and the reverse is true.

Chelsea picked him and and his value immediately skyrocketed to 20m, and he immediately got transfer listed!

      I'm in the Vanarama national and loaned in this guy from Plymouth in league 1 rated at 4.5 to 7.7 million. He's was a decent but not spectacular level player for me. Fast forward on a few years and now he's playing for a Vanarama team with about the same attributes etc and he's a standard 20-50k player which feels about right.
      However it can work in your favour, I had an out of contract premier league kid who I picked up and he only actually played about 15 games for me before Blackburn in the championship came in for him. I negotiated a sell on clause and realised that no one was going to pay his stupid value, my board negotiated a buy out of the clause and I got 1.3 million for him on top for him!

      I’ve found that players perform differently in every save. I think it’s down to circumstances or injuries, game time etc. Some average players unexpectedly go on to be incredible, some incredible players fall short. Nothing seems to be guaranteed save to save

    • @cabageumonky
      @cabageumonky ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At the start of the game every player is assigned a number between 1-200 representing their max potential. For young players in particular they have a preset range that the number will fall between. I don't know exactly but I'm assuming Pedri's range was between 150-180. 150 being a standard premier league player and 180 being world class. Different factors also effect whether or not the player reaches their max potential but yeah, potential is assigned at the start of the game and differs

    Don't know about FM22 but I figured it out in FM21, player performances, how often he makes top 11 in his team, how good has he become or the market thinks he has become and silverware won/relegation affects this value. it makes the value fluctuate. But the biggest factor is how much did he sell for. If a 45M $ player is sold for 75M $, the AI averaged it out in most cases where variables didn't work and make it approx.60m $

    Transfer value estimates making no sense is realistic. Transfermarkt is basically never correct because it doesn't take into account contract time left, importance to the team that owns them, and it lags behind hype.
    Also doesn't attempt to read the general market. If Real Madrid and Man City and Bayern all needed a striker, then top strikers would be worth a lot more. If they all had good CB pairings, then a top CB would be worth less than normal. Etc.
