I appreciate that you contacted Hood before posting this video and included his short video note. Definitely added some context that wasn't obvious to me
Even with the added context though, most of Ze’s criticisms are still relevant, console players probably would like to know why the positions are set the way are and what impact specific instructions have. I might be harsh, but the video barely qualifies as instructive or informational.
I really liked Kevs tutorial actually. I think it's aimed at the sort of player who is new and doesn't need to drill down into the weeds on their first save.
I think it’s great that a larger YT channel like yourself is giving exposure to smaller channels like Lulujo. Charity is a good thing. Giving back to the community. Good on you.
Hey why is there so much gratuitous sexuality on the thumbnail? Putting Lollujo on the thumbnail? What is wrong with you Zealand? There are kids watching!
That FM Base intro brought back some good memories, I was an IT support tech during COVD, had just discovered FM and had to go to the office everyday with no much work to do, so I used to sneak in unused offices and watch your tutorial videos... good times!
Lollujo is probably one of the few that guides that does not care about attributes, but rely entirely on staff for most things which is also how real life football work. But a big part of what makes football manager enjoyable for me is learning of the attributes of the players, staff, team and how that translate to better training, tactic, opposition instructions, set pieces, , mentoring and managing injuries.
@2:30 some agents/players insist on release clauses and these can be quite low especially minimum fee ones. If you go straight into a negotiation and they red padlock it you can do nothing. You can however pre negotiation have them open to discussion over those clauses so they are either dropped entirely or white padlocked meaning you can remove them in the negotiation and exclude them yourself Going in without foreplay is a little dangerous, especially if you have very high potential players at a club they are likely too good for but are willing to potentially join I think kevs example with week wage is perhaps less important than othe factors of a contract dependant on context
One I like is, when managing a non league, semi pro or even amateur team, get the BEST physio you possibly can, you can't afford players. You also can't afford to lose players to long injuries- getting them fit as fast as possible is crucial
@14:30 one tip I would also give is to use the "quick pick settings" tab and put a restriction on squad role to fringe (or emergency backup), this way your assistant will always pick the entire available team and any leftover spot on the bench you can give to some youngsters, this always saves me some time whenever I'm picking the entire team from game to game
Kev always pushes clubs he manages to the brink of bankruptcy which is a high risk strategy that can cripple your club if you fail to get promoted or qualify for European competition. Much as I enjoy Kev's content, I'd always advise people to try to leave a bit of financial headroom.
With respect that's just the game allowing fun. The board should never allow you to spend upwards of £160k per week for wages if the ffp allowance is only £110k. It's not actually the managers job to micro manage finances but to work with what the board say they are allowed
One thing I learned this week was using a same personality player to welcome new signings is the most effective way of integrating them into the team, and to ignore the inbox item, find a senior player in the squad screen and use the ambassadorial duties interaction to get them to do the welcome.
26:00 I actually agree with Tom. It's a rough guide to how good a player is and the attribute screen without an "overall" a la FIFA can be overwhelming
I'm looking forward to seeing the World Cup winning tactic explained. For my latest save, I had a look at some of the most successful tactics online & then used those principles to build my own with a few tweaks to suit my personnel. I figure it's the same as a real life manager looking at Man City, Arsenal, Barcelona etc. & creating a tactic based on what works. I'd love to hear a real breakdown from someone who created a winning tactic though. Can't wait for the masterclass.
lollujo is the only fm creator who makes me think i could probably succeed in the game myself, and that's probably why he's the only one I watch regularly. No offense to you or any of the others, my brain just can't keep all the information I'd need to play around with all the little details.
6:00 I play both ways. I have saves where I'm micromanaging every single thing, coming up with inventive tactics and set plays. Then I have other saves when I put the lads in a 4-4-2 and quick pick the team. Depends on my mood.
At least Kev is funny and its enjoyable watching his posts unlike others where it is forced and cringeworthy... The sort of humour where you still live with your mummy or a virgin
If you're up for doing more tutorial videos, Zealand - exploring the data hub would be an interesting one. I find that opaque and not always that helpful. For example, if we're winning loads of tackles but not keeping the ball, what this stuff means and how you can go about addressing what it brings up.
Honestly started using instalments this year and was able to transform my squad's quality quicker than blowing the budget on a handful of players. When you are competing against the biggest clubs in the world as Bristol City you need to look for any advantage.
15:39 Imagine Zealand - the guy who makes 13 minute long videos about a 90 second twitter clip or just 2 tweets, and always spends the first minute (and a half) trying to hype up the story / describe his emotions before even starting to talk about the actual story - complaining about unnecessarily long intros. 😂❤
i kind of have been living by this i suppose. I seen enough FM youtubers go on about how youth players develop each category at different stages starting with physical first between 15-18 so till my players reach 18 i only schedule them physical training but now can fine tune it abit more
In my experience winning is more important than morale. I have ignored many players and they have gotten very angry but since they are my best players I have continued playing them. Not only did their performance not reduce but they went on to perform incredibly well. Scoring more and assisting more and eventually because we keep winning. They forget their anger. I stopped looking at morale and focused on creating as many chances as possible.
Did you know if you right click on the left sidebar, you get a dropdown from that category? For instance, I always hated how I want to check my coaches and then go to Staff and then Staff Search, but now I just right lick Staff and choose Staff Search from the dropdown.
the thing w installments is the money is added to your debt and affects the future transfer budgets until paid off. So I agree there is absolutely nothing wrong w using them you don’t see it all but you pay every dime haha
I'm sure that the player stars are compared to the other players in your squad rather than the league you play in, if you have a 4 star defender and you buy a better rated defender, the 4 star defender will become 3 1/2 or 3 star rating.
It has been so long I can't remember being new to the game, but I hate the delegation thing. Obviously understand why it would come in handy for a new player, but I've always felt that I can do a better job on basically every aspect of the game than any of my staff could do (& maybe I'm too much of a control freak). I often get directors of football to look for players as long as I have the final say, as that's just free scouting so might as well, but generally I don't delegate. That's probably why all my saves take forever though!
I really think fm would do well to make morale and player issues less important/frequent. It often feels like I'm playing the sims for the most part, let me manage the club how I want. Just a little box to turn it off when i start a save would suffice
I do agree because it can get really annoying. But I also can't help but think of "real" work and collegues. Hell nobody ever shuts the hell up complaining about anything and everything. If I compare it to that it seems pretty realistic😂
I never knew installment were look down upon the comunity :o. I started playing FM in FM22 and ALWAYS used them, even when I didn't knew how to play the game haha
Is this the Kendrick v Drake beef of the FM world? (Kev you're Drake here FYI). In all seriousness, Lollujo's vids got me into the game a long time ago. There's room for a creator focussed on simplicity for those that aren't as hardcore as some of us balls deep FMers.
for the agent wage thing, you very much are able to lower it, i dont think ive ever renewed a contract without speaking to the agent, and they give a range for a reason, it's still negotiable
i just need a tips to stop my players to do crosses every time at the final third. they're just wasting the ball, wasting chances and then getting scored on the counter attack
King Kev is by far the most entertaining FM creator, is he the best probably not but hes up there! He does more than ANYONE does to keep people interested or to keep playing the game as he has a personality which 99.9% others don't have or if they do it is cringeworthy as it is forced...
Question about the contract negotiations. How can I approximate what the player wants if I don’t ask the agent. I’ve only played FM24 for around 500 hours, and have had a few mishaps where I try to sign a player and the entire wage/pw and all other bonuses are empty for me to fill in. How do I avoid cases like these. I have had multiple potential wonderkid signings which fell through because I was terrible at guessing the wage this player wants.
I'm a complete noob but I have one way to do it: trials. It is not consistent but sometimes it does work(by that I mean sometimes it won't show you anything rather than being wrong). At the start or end of the trial in the inbox you will get the message confirming the status of the trial, in it there is a clause: expected wage. PROS: Large pool of players. Free agents will agree to trials, obviously, but sometimes players in clubs will agree too(unhappy with playing time or smth.). Free scouting just with less effect. You can still learn about the player but that means you need to offer a longer trial. CONS: If you found a really good player from an inactive league (in the game that means that the scouting of that league is turned off) you are inviting scouts from your league to offer better contracts.
Any excuse to put me on a thumbnail.
And FM isn’t as complicated as you think it is.
I just needed the raw sex appeal how do you think I did
It's complicated when your national sports are Steroid Rounders/Padded Rugby/Lanky Netball.
Sorry Z, love you really.
@@SteveDFM tbf, American football is not close to rugby, it's also exceedingly complicated

Not only Console players by the way people who plug and play need to learn why a tacitc doesn’t work too
The Deep Lying Playmaker is on another level compared to any other FM tutorials.
Deep Lying Playmaker is the BEST
I really liked Kevs tutorial actually. I think it's aimed at the sort of player who is new and doesn't need to drill down into the weeds on their first save.
Yep he's the first tuber YT recommended me when I started learning the game. I like his style. Z? He was 2nd.
Zealand, balls.

Weird ass comment
You should highlight the work done by MustermannFM and TheDeepLyingPlaymaker, both seriously underrated FM content creators that need the exposure!
Stinger is excellent too. Some of the challenges he does are crazy.
FM Enjoyer : Morale in Football Manager is King
Ten Hag : F that, i won 2 cups in 2 years with only 700 mil pounds🗿
Club: meets up to sack ten Hag
ten Hag: You can't do that. I've won 2 cups with only 700m spent.
Club: OK nvm then.
FM Base. What a throwback, lol.

Zealand talking about oldschool TH-cam intros.. ah the memories of him starting out for FM Base with a similar intro.
Tbf I actually prefer that. But this is coming from someone old enough to remember when shows DIDN'T have a "skip intro" button. 😂
DLP explains player roles so well. Please react to his content Zealand

The teamwork and workrate attributes are essential for your tactic being effective 90% of the time.
I LOVED that you had Hood Gaming interrupt the vid to explain why the breakdown is the way it is. Fair enough!

Clear selection or subs has been a feature of the game for quite a long time actually Zealand.

2:10 Zealand talking about old FM videos as "Pre-me" has insane aura, dude really is the Messiah
Someone had to point that out. I loved it
that 33rd minute cameo was perspective shattering. We just got FM youtuber inceptioned.
Hot take: you talk to agents to reduce playing time demands so you can rotate more, not to nickel and dime on wages.

Pretty rich of Zealand to complain about long intros given what his zealandism videos are like 😅
Tbf the long intros is why I watch Zealandism😂
I'll add to that he has a tendency to ramble so can't really talk about another tuber doing that. 😂
