Originally written by Stu Phillips for the Knight Riders TV series. As a kid I loved the series. In the song I always felt some flamenco behind. I made this cover based on that mood...
I love the randomness of the YT algorithm. I would never have guessed I needed to hear a 9 year old flamenco flavored guitar cover of the Knight Rider theme on a Sunday morning but here we are
"A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Miguel Caballero, a young loner on a crusade, to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless. In a world of criminals who operate above the law…”
So am I! I'm always going through bursts of listening to the show's theme, and there's just no way it should have taken this long for me to find this little masterpiece.
I'm Spanish, and I never felt there was even the slightest hint of flamenco in it. 😅 However, you made a truly outstanding cover, making the theme your own, like good covers should do! Music makes us all feel different about it, that's its greatness. I bow to your rendition. 🙇💯
@@riangarianga Tnx. Well it is in phrygian mode which you find mostly in Flamenco tonal mode, of course the synth sound hides that. I am quite sure the tune was written on a guitar. Anyway, cheers and tnx for the comment.
It's the first time I've heard this and I love it. In fact, it would have been a good choice for the actual theme song. Kudos and thanks for sharing this.
Up for 8 years, and I'm just heading this!?!? I've missed out!!! But I'm really happy I'm hearing this because when I clicked on this, I wasn't sure if I would love it or hate it
The lone man on a desert highway imagery with the flamenco style reminds me of Desperado (the original Mexican version, not the Hollywood Antonio Banderas version.)
Not as much a "cover", more of a re-interpretation. It's always amazing how the simple stuff sticks with you. I guess that's why King Crimson and King's X and some of the other prog bands never made it as big as some of their more "pop" counterparts. The knight Rider theme (the guitar part) is a whopping one(?) chord. Three notes?
Thanks. Well regarding the popularity - I don't have a clue how it is done :). I simply like this song because as a guitarist I find it has the andalucian cadence (which is used a lot in flamenco music) and the galloping kind of rhythm pattern (Zorro :)), so I made this song in this 'mode'. The composers Stu Phillips and Glen Albert Larson said they took the idea from one of the Cinderella suites from Sergei Prokofiev but then made something totally different. About the three notes, yes, they are very catchy and they stand on F# phrygian, E minor and G major. The synth sound they used on those three notes fits exactly the futuristic car, and the andalucian scent fits the rebel in the car. I tried to make the three notes sound as much natural as possible on the guitar, but it never is :). This composition is one of those unique 'once in a life time' that our ears cannot neglect.

Listening to that, I now realize: If Micharl Knight had lived in the 1880s instead of the 1980s, he'd basically be Zorro!
K.I.T.T.
a... some kind of special breed talking horse...?
Agreed the horse would be alchemically and magically enhanced to speak like a man and would have magical gadget instead
@@rehdwolfe So that would be Zorro and Mr. Ed (that old tv show with a talking horse).
@@Random_user_8472 Wilbur! ... This is a story of a vaquero that does not exist ...
I now want to see a horse do a turbo boost so badly
how is this possible it just now popped upon my feed 9 years after glad to here this take
"A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Miguel Caballero, a young loner on a crusade, to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless. In a world of criminals who operate above the law…”
😂 Miguel Caballero
🎉😮
😂
I want to watch this show!
Diego DeLa Vega was zorro, Bernardo was his assistant that fixed the horse, Sargent Garcia was his nemesis
Popped up on my feed 8 years late, but I'm glad I found this.
Sane
This cover would work in every Tarantino movie.
It would actually 😅
I suddenly feel like watching Desperado or Once upon a time in Mexico
Brilliant rendition. Surprised that it was only recommended now 😮
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. The show's theme has been in my playlist for ages and Im only just getting this?

Better late than never I guess .... I'm in the same boat .....( or car )

Having watched the show as a kid and a lifelong musician I LOVE THIS
knight rider forever.
Mate, this is spectacular. This had better get the exposure it deserves one day.

de nada. No me canso de escuchar la canción y de ver las imágenes del vídeo. Es una de mis series favoritas
This is what a Knight Rider movie directed by Robert Rodriguez would sound like.
Exactly what I thought, I feel like watching Desperado or Once upon a time in mexico
I encouraged my self to listen this
Wow, making covers is fun and I can hear this one had to be fun, too. Amazing cover with your own flavor peppered in, well done! 👍

Good damnit!. You killed it!. 10/10
Inspired version of an awesome theme!
I just can't stop imagine Michael Knight taking a break to have a siesta nap every time 😴 😅
Hey that’s canon! In the pilot, he’s pulled over by a highway patrol during a siesta ;)
Most Spanish people actually do not take a nap in the middle of the day... Maybe we should get that habit back :)
Yeah, it's a neat cover, makes you imagine the main characthers in a different perspective , espcially in a cultural standpoint
sounds great
