We need to go back to making a few goofy movies with ensembled casts from various generations and professions (acting, music, sports, etc.). Cannonball Run seems like the type of movie they should remake every 5-10 years in that spirit. Similar to how the style of "James Bond" movies change over time, it would be fun to see different generations' take on the same corny "illegal car race" premise.
I had no idea Jackie Chan was in Cannonball Run!! Watched it when I was a kid in the 80's and now I'm going to have to back and look for him. My favorite line was "two milks", my 10 year-old brain thought that was the best humor ever!
Jackie didn't have the best time on that one, which is why he didn't work with Hollywood again until Rumble in the Bronx. He does say that this movie gave him the idea to put his bloopers in during the credits.
...until you sit inside one. Only people under 6'2" can sit in it without hitting their head on the roof, there is no seat adjustment, only feet under a size 10 can operate the pedals without hitting two at once, you can't see out of the back window, the door windows only open enough to flick ash from a cigarette, all the interior is made of vinyl-covered right-angled boxes, and the throttle and clutch both take a huge effort to depress. But yes, it LOOKS and SOUNDS amazing.
I got to ride in this car. It was bought many years later from the studio and a friend of mine restored it. It had been painted several times, different colors for other movies. VERY loud and soooo cool. The owner passed away, so I don’t know where the car ended up.
It’s not complicated, there are men that are women, men that identify as women, men that are pre op or post op, gays are now LGTBQ rainbow warriors. See subsection 73a for women
I was probably 7 when this came out and all I knew, was that I wanted the Lamborghini book that year for Christmas and I got it. Loved the brand ever since even if that front wing was questionable ...
Seen this movie dozens of time but just realized that most of that opening was on interstate 8 heading into the Laguna mountains! Driven that stretch a hundred times at least!
This came on tv at 8pm in the UK when I was about 9 yrs old (1987) Begged to stay up to.watch the film but got sent to bed half way through. Had the VHS at school about 3 years later, must have watched the it 10 times. Greatest bad movie ever!!
Love the opening to this movie. That police Firebird card was pretty damn awesome as well for a pursuit car. Love the helicopter pan out scene. I am pretty sure these were stunt drivers driving the car not the 2 supermodel chicks. The Countach is one of the coolest cars ever made although probably a nightmare to own and maintain. The 2nd film had all the basic capri police cars no way in hell would they be able to catchup to that Countach.
I soured on the Lamborghini Countach when I found out about how much of a pain they are. But, damn... This scene reminds me why I wanted one so badly when I was a kid.
Back in the 80s I was still a kid. But I remember my mom taking me to an exotic car dealership that was in the city. I was able to see and sit in all the most famous popular cars of the day. Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche... The dealership disappeared in the 90s...replaced by a FedEx Kinko's😅. But I still have memories of it 41 years later...
Still brings me back to teen-years. Sad that we can’t make a movie today simply for entertainment like this one; instead today it’s all guaranteed profit or regurgitate the same-old ”. 🇨🇦
Filmed in Boulder City, Nevada Sadly none of those roads exist anymore, since the state added interstate 11, in 2017. I used to drive on those roads for years.
Cool af. Proud to have watched this when it was fresh - and that Lambo still holds its own against anything made today. Don’t make ‘em like this anymore.
@@Willy-hs7uu I don’t necessarily disagree but I’m not a fan of Ben Stiller. His sort of humor like Sacha Baron Cohan of Borat fame are too off kilter for me.
They should show this film in film school about how to make an exciting fun movie forget all the diversity equal rights bullshit rainbows and unicorns and focus the movie on having a good time with interesting characters. The cars are the star of the film we want to see A list actors just going for broke not that hard. But there always has to be some message or agenda instead of just a basic plot with some laughs.
I myself find that spoiler sexy as hell, but to each their own. Before you bash it, you should watch the documentary on the car. Its free and on youtube.
To be fair, we also dreamt of owning Magnum's Ferrari 308 GTS, Michael Knight's '82 Firebird w/AI KITT and The A-Team's Van....("I like the paint job!").
You will never see another star studded movie like this. Too many egos in today’s time. Unbelievable cast.
Hearing that V12 open up.... ...what a glorious noise!
A-fucking-men
Yeah...that v12. Love it.
The best scene

Oh, hearing that in the theater????? Goose bumps!!!😂
The Lamborghini Countach still has an incredibly futuristic look today, even though 50 years have passed.
Timeless design. This is, to this day, still my favorite exotic car.
I have the LEGO Speed Champions Countach on my desk :D
Countach ans F40 legend cars
Same with the 917 can am racer
i just bought a 1978 nikko rc lamborghini countach as a shelf queen.
can't find a decent rc countach nowadays.
I was just starting high school when this movie came out. Great time to be alive. I miss the 80's so much.
The 80s were the best.

Really the best. Now I’m 60 and old. 😢
That last blip and downshift is glorious. This movie as a child helped shape my love of cars, comedy, and women.
Shaped my love for speed-limit sign graffiti.
Me too. I still can't get Adrienne Barbeau's big tiddies out of my mind.
Watched this as a kid in the theater. Blown away! RIP Dom DeLuise
Dom, Burt, Dean, Sammy, Roger, Farrah, Jack, Mel, Bert & Hal ... all gone but never forgotten.
Those were great magical time we all lived through.
What an amazing cast! So many great actors, most are gone now :(
I remember when I was a kid, every time this came on HBO or the Movie Channel, I was glued to the TV for 2 hours. Still one of my favorites!

Just the sound alone of that Lambo working is awesome!
As much as I am a car guy, I've never seen this movie! That opening was sick...I'll be watching it before the week's out!
It is a great opening as well the movie gets a little goofy at times but love the opening
The whole cast looked like they were having such a good time making that movie.
Yes, and it began with harvesting the humble cocoa leaf!

That funky bass line "cannon ball." Adrienne Barbeau, say no more

Ooooh the Countach really is the Godfather of Supercars.. Simply beautiful😍👊
This scene sold more posters in 80’s than anything; except maybe Cindy Crawford
Loved this scene and was obsessed by cars but…. Cindy Crawford still wins.
If someone had been smart enough to make a poster of Cindy Crawford on a Countach... 🎤💧
No Suzanna hoffs set Cindy in the dark for me
