I saw this live in Kansas City after watching the Melvins on the second stage and they did Stinkfist together! Our version was faster and much more like Nugents!
Getting major 8th grade vibes from this song. Don't run across songs like this as much when I listen to everything on Spotify instead of downloading random-ass mp3s from Kazaa.
@@JamesBondAstonMartin There's no reason to do that when you can use FLAC or another lossless codec. Identical to the WAV file down to every single bit, for half the size.
@belissimel I've never agreed with a comment so much. Breaking Benjamin's tool covers are a disgrace to Tool. But I'd say Tool take on a Nuge classic was excellent. This cover was excellent. It's no Ted Nugent, but it's Tool playing it. Not Nugent. A cover doesn't need to be a verbatim copy. If it is, then it's not a cover, it's just a re-recording done by different people. It's boring.
this has so many riffs from so many tool songs. But I can't identify them all. It sounds like The Patient in one part, but there are other songs in there too. Help anyone?
Think this was off the 98 tour.... So the beginning is definitely not inspired by the Patient. Anyway its just another of the many facets of Tool. Gotta love it, bet it burned live! I was fortunate to be at the recording for No Quater on Salival. If you are ever in Colorado in the summer, see a show at Red Rocks. Life Changing!
@23hourMgrains If TOOL were a colour... it would be the only one there is. and all things would be made out of this colour... and it would be seen on the inside of your eyelids...
sorry to say, but the stones have made an album in the last 20 years. I remembered Bridges to Babylon being out & new when I was in high school. I checked and it was released in September 1997. They also had an album in September 2005, A Bigger Bang. Both were Studio albums in addition to 1994's Voodoo Lounge all in the last 20 years.
@LordAzai might be too fine tuned to his mastery... tool covers have a very unique perspective on them... they are artists after all.. and damn creative ones... if there was one thing about tool that i'm not diehard for it's the vocals are hard to hear, i'm with you there... i'm not sure who did this solo but i wasn't too impressed either, might not be an easy scale to play but it's not that impressive... other songs highlight their talents a lot more... drums rock here tho can't deny that
I think Ben Burnley did a decent job covering aenema. Yea not many bands are even capable of covering tool (BB is not one of those bands), but I think certain tool covers sound alright.
Um........ Some of the added stuff is cool..... However the fact that they completely changed the middle of the song and took out the part that made it Stranglehold.... The SOLO!!!! WTF I love Tool!!!! But this is a shit cover of an Amazing classic! Pantera did More justice with Their cover of Cat Scratch Fever. Starting to think they Are only 1's capable of channeling their inner Nugent!
@Kingsauce119 it's bot that, it's just that this is barely recognisable. I admire that they have put their own spin on the song, but they have ruined most of it. The riff is weak, the vocals aren't particularly clear, and the solo pales in comparison. Santana's whole lotta love cover is a good example of a revamped classic. Oh and I'm also quite a die hard ted nugent fan so my ears are tuned to his mastery of the six string :)
Didn't comment on their ability, just thought Ted's was better, plus if you cover a song, usually the same lyrics and tune are in there somehwere, but not really this :S
1. what plateau? 2. Why does liking something deserve a good on you? 3. Why cant they try to tackle a song from a band that has no relation to their own?
this song kinda sounds like one song from rammsteins first album cant find it in my head wait.... got it sounds like DAS ALTE LEID not the whole song but some notes
A. I just have to say badass username. B. High* didn't*. C. Although Breaking Benjamin & Tool are friends, it doesn't mean they should attempt, and I do mean attempt a song by Tool, not alot of bands can do a Tool song and sound remotely close, the voice is too fucking original and the overall sound is one of a kind. My opinion.
Poor Ted Im sorry BUT I just dont like the guy himself . This might be a song Back in the day And even if you dont like IT You have to give it to Maynard . Lots of BAD comments I kinda like the cover song I didnt care for this 1 Only cuz i Really Dont like Ted !!!! Now A Perfect Circle - Imagine And "Bernie" Taupin / Elton John Rocket Man Thats kinda nice OH and the Twist on Balls to the Wall (Accept cover)
I don't think, and this is just my humble opinion, that the band just sat around and thought endlessly about an image that would fulfill any 'purpose' that their music insinuates..for any album(demo, whatever).. maybe they decided to go the opposite caliber with this, going beyond being non-creative and to the other side of absurdity..just for the sake of being absurd, stupid, whatever..yes, the 'tool' looks like a pair of gonads. take some acid, look at this, and think 'gonads'..it's funny.
A studio version would be deadly
And here I was sitting....thinking....that I have heard every song Tool played. Cool cover.
"We won the Grammy, so eyes down please." Lmao
Hahah
There's a much better-sounding version of this on ToolArchive's 2014 remastered full concert
Yes but the scream at the end is less impressive
Holy shit.... My head would of exploded if I was there for this... I'm practically in tears, just finding this...
This is so awesome
Like a mashup of stranglehold and swamp song
I've never heard this before! I can't believe it! WHY was I not informed of this!!!!!!!!!!!
Because no one informed you.
Matt Jones that'd do it
I have this cassette tape. This aint on it. Love me some Tool fella's and some Melvins.
Buzzo inspired some of how Adam Jones plays
I've seen Tool 7 x as well Fucking loved everyone of their concerts
One of my all time fav songs by one of my all time fav bands.
i love it when i can hear my little brother play his music......i love you bro
Seriously, Sister!! I just want to sit "Indian Style, and That's what I am gunna do!!
killer fucking motor city mad man cover, 2 of the biggest influential guitarists of the times.
I saw this live in Kansas City after watching the Melvins on the second stage and they did Stinkfist together! Our version was faster and much more like Nugents!
u cannot categorize Tool they r awesome and that is all
almost sounds like this is where the patient was derived from...very few of those palm muted intro notes
Getting major 8th grade vibes from this song. Don't run across songs like this as much when I listen to everything on Spotify instead of downloading random-ass mp3s from Kazaa.
wav is the best. well mighty be an 100mb file, but worth the hard disk space, when you got time to convert it from mp4 to audio
@@JamesBondAstonMartin There's no reason to do that when you can use FLAC or another lossless codec. Identical to the WAV file down to every single bit, for half the size.
@@mithcee ok but nowdays hdd or ssd's drives have extreme big space and you dont have to worry about that
TOOL is a kick ass band. and this song is Badass :)
they Toolified the song
IM GOING TONIGHT TO SEE THEM LIVE..........
How was it?
adam jones almost sounds exactly like the guitar in alice cooper you can tell its one of his influences.
Fails to capture the smooth rhythm of the original. Noisier, but not better.
Scott Powell I don't think they were trying to be smooth, they're tool remember and Buzz Osbourne is up there with them, shit gets messy
Alfonsis McMullen Tool can be smooth as fuck if needed but you're not wrong lol.
They definitely added there sound
Yea I see the comments about The Patient for sure.
King Buzzo is why I upvote Stranglehold over No Quarter, if you seen the Melvin's live you know why
Tempest has a similar feel.
Wait. What? As if I needed another reason to belch TOOL is best.
A rare Ted Nugent cover.
I hopped in at about 2 minutes and thought holy shit is this Melvins?
oh man, i hope you're right. tool is half of my soul.
Finally something Tool did that I never want to listen to again...
and they haven't made a new album in over 20 years. tool is still making music. maynard said this was their last album. don't tell me, tell him.
@eleven086 Not unless they come to Illinois, Missouri, or Indiana.
I agree with TheMark07...personally I relly enjoy the song and I think it sounds almost identical(I had no problem knowing what it was).
@belissimel I've never agreed with a comment so much. Breaking Benjamin's tool covers are a disgrace to Tool. But I'd say Tool take on a Nuge classic was excellent. This cover was excellent. Indeed...
@EchoplexTheUltimatum I think it's for the gas tank connection and the pressure gauge...

fuck tool is soooo heavy, like holy shit the beginning is just...............
I like a lot TOOL!!!!!........
Didn’t know this existed
Damn, this shit good!

@polevaulters22 Uh... Yeah dude. They just did a mini tour. I'm still bummin I didn't get to go.
Progressive Metal / Groove Rock / Alternative Rock
See them WHERE?! Hopefully I'm not too late!

breaking benjamin is emo rock? cant say ive ever felt emo listening to them...
emo doesn't mean emotional.. emo is short for Hardcore Emotive
Buzz kicks ass
1. what plateau?
2. Why does liking something deserve a good on you?
3. Why cant they try to tackle a song from a band that has no relation to their own?
Thanks for this jewel
@LordAzai as the spirit wanes, the form appears.
Is tool playing UNCLE TED!!!
This doesn't really resemble Ted Nugent's at all, the guitarist doesn't even come close to The Nuge's abilities :S.
nugent is boring
Maybe back then. In 91 when this was recorded. Adam Jones blows Nugent out of the water now, despite how great he is as well
@DoejohnA blah blah blah. Oh and btw what language are they singing in at first?
that's a tool allright
for real...guitazan forever!
Yup
What is Stranglehold? And where did you get it from?
just a TOOL
this song kinda sounds like one song from rammsteins first album cant find it in my head wait.... got it sounds like DAS ALTE LEID not the whole song but some notes

bottom line Maynard is doing at least half the singing so it was......and was gr8
does anybody know the spanish lyrics that Maynard sings in the beggining?
Poor Ted Im sorry BUT I just dont like the guy himself . This might be a song Back in the day And even if you dont like IT You have to give it to Maynard . @bcchronicking hey, at least he likes good music
Where do we get the dates??
The Rolling Stones are older than 46-50
So like, was this on 72826 or what? I've never heard it
King Buzzo + Tool
what the fuck are you gonna do?
are they touring on 2012!?
Is anyone knows something bout the new album Omega or somthen like this really wanna trip it ;d
is this a tool song? or a melvins song?
It's a tool!
Sounds like Stranglehold to me
I don't think, and this is just my humble opinion, that the band just sat around and thought endlessly about an image that would fulfill any 'purpose' that their music insinuates..for any album(demo, whatever).. maybe they decided to go the opposite caliber with this, going beyond being non-creative and to the other side of absurdity..just for the sake of being absurd, stupid, whatever..yes, the 'tool' looks like a pair of gonads. take some acid, look at this, and think 'gonads'..it's funny.
ahhh i get it @Thecrimsonhill you're quick!
@LordAzai
i recently uploaded a pre-10,000 days instrumental demo. its fuckin bad ass. just click on my screen name to get to it
@Jesusplant ... and more MELVINS!!!!!!
google.. it works.
& i'm a TOOL fan too.seen them 7 times
@eleven086 if i have to walk
The melvins were a joke
BUZZO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's a Ted Nugent cover
68thirdeye it sure is bud
I was joking lol I was being ironic dudes bras.
Spoonami
do da cover!
what with all the dumb hate comments?
not to bring down the vibe, but, you don't have to be on acid to see that it looks like 'gonads' and find it humorous.
`72826 is satan lol
Ya gotta get the guitar feedback just right for this song to have the effect that makes it special otherwise it just sounds boring like this cover.
😉😎😆
Its a Tool Tool, haha.
