    This is my "Burstain", an all burst lasers Alliance Chieftain. This build took me a while to make, because the goal was to make an all bursts chief, as light as possible for maneuverability, with enough energy for the 6 engineered burst lasers, and cold enough (I mean, really really cold) to get long sustained fire rounds without becoming a grilled chicken.
    And it wasn't easy.
    First, the best option was to get rid of the shields and make the ship all hull. That way I can be lighter and have enough power for the lasers. Even with all the hull reinforcements, the ship is waaaay lighter than with a shield. So the performance and maneuverability is really really good.
    Then, the power plant. I had to engineer it to grade 5 low emissions and exp MONSTERED. Later, the thrusters, to grade 5 CLEAN and thermal spread.
    The FSD is a joke and useless. This thing can't jump but I had to choose it to get enough power for the lasers and make the ship lighter. So I pay for the transport where I need it, or you can use your carrier if you have got one. I am not interested in carriers for now, and this thing is a 100% fighter ship concept, so I don't need jump and I am happy with it. Although I have to confess that engineer it is a pain in the A. I did it going with my jumpaconda and using the shipyard transport in the stations or fleet carriers. The money is not a problem. The problem is to wait an hour till the ship arrives, sometimes XD. You can install a bigger FSD and deactivate some modules till you finish all the engineering, but I did it that way.
    The power distributor is engineered to grade 5 weapons focused.
    The 2 big lasers are grade 5 focused and exp oversized, while the size 2 is grade 5 efficient and oversized, and the 3 small ones are grade 5 focused with scramble spectrum experimental effect. I guess you can make all of them to grade 5 efficient to get even more sustained fire, so may I´ll try that.
    NOTE: In the video they are engineered in a different way, but I have engineered them as I write here, as the coriolis build at the end of this description.
    The result is great in my opinion. I have enough power for the lasers, the power distributor, 2 chaffs and 2 point defense turrets (I recommend to mount one of them on one of the top utility HP and the other one on the bottom ones, that way you cover more field against missiles), 2 class 2 Automaintenance units to repair, and an interdictor.
    And as you can see, I can sustain really long rounds without getting run out of power or frying myself in the process, even though in this video the beacon is very close to the star. When I am far from the star, the ship is below 15 in super cruise, being 12 while taking off from a landing platform sometimes. So in deeper space, you can even sustain even longer rounds.
    Also, a smaller fuel tank will give you a few less extra tons, so the ship is even lighter. Since this concept is a 100% fighter ship (no long jump range, and no fuel scoop), you won't need a big fuel load. Every gram counts!
    I engineered the reactive armor to thermal, because again, I wanted this ship to be as light as possible. But I am sure that if you engineer it to heavy duty, despite all the extra mass, it can performs really well, and maybe you can substitute the 2 autofield maintenance units for module reinforcements or more hull reinforcements.
    -PROS: infinite ammo, because there is no ammo. No pips to systems because there is no shield, so 3 pips to engines and 3 to weapons works really well. A very light and agile ship. Cold, so in invisible for other ships' sensors. Badass scars on the external hull, as you can see in the video 😃
    -CONS: Pow Dist draw, it needs engineering. No shield, so a lot of grinding and engineering for the armor and the hull reinforcements. The hard points are usually the first affected by the enemy fire in this ship, even more than the engines despite how exposed they are (in PvE), so you could substitute some hull reinforcements for module reinforcements, but I don't recommend it; I prefer a couple of Automaintenance units and repair when you need it.

    Since Chieftain has an excellent maneruverability you can fit all fixed for a better DPS output!

      True, but I suck at fixed. I mean, I FKG SUCK 😂. In fact, the chief is the perfect ship for fixed because is designed to "tokyo drift" all the time (for cold orbiting technique at AX combat), so you can daka daka the target while moving around. Especially in FA-off. But I suck at fixed and small imputs in FA-off with a controller are almost impossible.
      In short: you are 100% correct, but I am not that good lol.

      Yeah, but remember: PvE. I don't know for PvP...
      The Challenger is more daka indeed (or in this case, chff chff), but the chief moves better, as you very well know. I reduced the mass in this build as much as I could (while bulking the hull), for instance by a smaller fuel tank or a D class FSD, so the ship could be more agile. I am sure it can be optimized even more, but I like it how it is now.
      I also made an all bursts Fed Gunship, and I liked it.
      Give it a try with that challenger and tell me how it goes!

      @@cmdrHeliaxx Exactly, no ammo, so great for combat zones. I used this build specifically for the "crime sweep" zones, making combat merits for Arissa Lavigny-Duvall, because those battles, unlike the regular CZ battles, never end. You can daka daka as much as you want till you decide to get off. So I needed a powerful/fun build with no ammo.

    Daym! Yeah pretty much anything you put on a chieftain is gonna wreck. I use MC, all long range just to eliminate damage fall off, you can hardly hit anything beyond 3600 m anyway so first level engineering is all you need. This looks sick though and no ammo to worry about, nice build 👍🏼

    You only need one laser to have the scramble spectrum effect. This doesn’t stack at all or scale based on weapons size in any way. Having it on just one small laser is enough.

      No. The effect has got a probability. Noy every round does it. So more lasers with the effect, more probability.

      Sorry I was in a hurry and my comment sounded rude because I didn't want to forget about it.
      I meant, yes, you are right, BUT: (what I said in my other comment). The effect doesn't stack but works on probability of each round. That's why people usually engineer them to rapid fire and use more than one, to increase the probability of the effect.

    I have few questions of this build ... not looking for a Meta or anything just interested in why you chose what you did.
    Why engineer the Distro with Cluster Cap and not Super conduit?
    Did it make much of a differance in Thruster heat being Clean and thermal and not Dirty with Drag or Drive distributors?
    Powerplant ... why add monster, the extra power is not needed is it? Can it be Thermal or Braced ?

      Hey, good questions. To be honest, I don't know lol. I usually try things without doing math (which would be the optimal thing). Or even comparing it on Coriolis. Maybe what you have suggested works better. Try it. Because as I always say, I am sure that all my builds can be much more optimized. It's just I am a bit lazy lol.
      Maybe, when I come back to play the game I'll try your build options.
      For the distro all I wanted for this ship was long rounds without frying myself in the process.
      For the thrusters, yes, there's a big difference between clean and dirty, in terms of temperature. That's one thing that I have tested with many ships.

    Soy relativamente nuevo en este juego (hace como dos dias) recien consegui mi chieftain y esta build me ha servido donde estoy, la pregunta es, como le hago para que los cañones duren mas tiempo disparando?

      Hola. Pues lo que tienes que hacer es ingenierizar el distribuidor de energía. Tienes varias opciones: mayor cantidad de energía, recarga de energía más rápida, o centrado en armas, sistemas, o motores. Si te metes en inara y luego en ingenieros, verás las diferentes opciones que tienes, y los materiales que te piden. Con el distribuidor ingnierizado conseguirás ráfagas de disparos más largas. Con armas de energía como los lasers, es casi obligado ingenierizar el distribuidor.

      Pues es que no sé decirte porque no juego PvP, ya que al ser en la Play, paso de pagar el plus. Eso de pagar dos veces por internet, no me gusta. Contra NPCs fuertes, bien. Me he metido en señales piratas grado 7 y se puede. Pero claro, el PvP es otro cantar, es otro mundo. Siento no poder ayudarte al respecto. Prueba a ver, aunque todo el grinding necesario para la build, como al final no mole igual te hace meterte una escopeta en la boca...
      Pero bueno, si hay un ruso que se carga cutters con prismáticos en una type 7 y a base de minas, igual todo es probar...
