It’s such a meditative practice! The Wudong Taiyi Swimming Dragon (武當太乙游龍拳) is done continuously and smoothly like clouds floating and water flowing, like dragon swimming up in the sky and down in the water! I first saw this form demonstrated and taught by GM Yu Anren (余安仁) many years ago, and was immediately mesmerized by its embodiment of mind and body in harmony and peace! I applaud this practitioner and appreciate his sharing of this beautiful art of Taiji. Thank you!
Very nice form. I practice Yang taiji and I really enjoy it; but I must say that Swimming Dragon taiyi is the most beautiful style that I have seen. Perhaps, one day I will practice it as well.
so graceful , yet with strength and gentleness, supple body pairing with a peaceful mind, the music accompanying this form of Swimming Dragon, captured deep emotions. Thank you , bright blessings !! this was published on my birthday. :-)
Thank you Hans, very nice, since first time I see you play this form I love it. Nine weeks I spend to learns full and I was very happy for this. Thank very much. Juan Antonio, Spain
I wish someone would teach this form in Byron Bay Australia, I only have videos to watch and am a bit mirror lexic meaning I need to watch the teacher from behind to get the moves. I really like your fluidity for a Westerner . graceful.
Uh, not sure, but I think I fell in love about halfway through this! After watching I signed up locally to learn the form! WOW! Hans Menck is so "at one" with the Qi, it's quite amazing to watch -- and to feel!
wow just wow the movement control was so cool ive only just strated abt 1 year on chi gong but this is where i want to get too u can almost see the energy flowing to him
Holy crap that was beautiful, and you've got a lot of flexibility to go that low while making it look so effortless. It's obvious the amount of training you do. Our little group in Alfred, NY, has been training with Guifang Liu for years now, and master Yu Anren is coming in this Fall in connection to a Confucius Institute event. I'll have to show him your video - there's no access to TH-cam in China - I imagine he'll be in awe with how far his former student has come.
Western clothing better reveals Hansmenck's sinewy, slithering serpentine extensions better than the traditional loose garments worn by Chinese masters. The short pants and shirtless torso in his online demo works even better.
Hans, question for you: I've noticed differences between your version of this form and in how Master Guifang Liu performs her same Swimming Dragon Taiyi form. Is this due to legit variations of the form itself or from personal flare/alterations of the actual form? Your feedback on this would be greatly appreciated; the Kung Fu class in which I attend has stumbled upon this form and we've began to practice each daily. -Best-
Sorry , But i do Not think it is a Swimming Dragon. It is a falsification , a mix of tai chi movements . and his own improvisation + music and a bit of self indulgent to showing off. Of caurse people will be saying that this is beautiful. But it is a lie.
@@taichiwellnessonline "Swimming Dragon" exercise doesn't employ kicks or dancing Shiva postures. Doesn't involved horse riding stances as well. It is an exercise awakening internal energy from the bottom of the spine and making it travel up. similarly to Kundalini in certain aspect , but done with different method and more gentle that the one referring to Kundalini Awakening. The name "Swimming Dragon" describe it perfectly from Chinese point of view. The practice concentrates on movement involving the spine . Hands and legs are staying connected at al times , with hands traveling in front of the body from one side to the other and legs slightly bending and straightening at knees. The best illustration is done by T.K. Shih. Also there is a demonstration by Yoqi Resources Swimming Dragon Qigong Tutorial.
Andrew, First of all, you can not judge about somebody you don’t know and second, it seems you don’t have knowledge what this form is all about. It’s a combination of Tai Chi, Qigong and Daoist Martial Yoga. Beside this person studied with Swimming Dragon Master, Yu Anren and Master Li Young Liang so he must have a good foundation of this style of Kung Fu. Understand that everybody is different, and therefore there will be always some differences in the performance of any kind of form
@@lifevision5364 Nonsense. First of all I do not judge a person only a misleading title. Secondly , after watching the movements I discovered that the movements and postures are falsely ( NOT coming from the traditional , but never less presented as such ) presented , so I call them as such. So do not try to be pompous with me. It doesn't,t work. And lastly : a "combination" can NOT be given the name coming from the classical set of movements. The free interpretation is allowed while you are trying to catch the flees , not when you are trying to land on your feet while jumping. The specific consecutiveness of gestures and their character have a purpose and therefore regardless of intentions of the performer they serve the goal or not. Using the classical name as catchy phrase is wrong. And of course , You can call the way you swim , dance or exercise in your room or in your pool whatever name you want , as long as you not trying to present it as specific exercise of chinese yoga.
@@andrewwazagow9120 Unfortunately, you mix up two different arts: what Yogi shows is swimming dragon Qi Gong, and it is beautiful, and she does a wonderful presentation. What you see here is Taiji (Tai Chi) Swimming Dragon full form, which consists of three parts, and it includes martial art movements, a lot of balancing and meditation. Further form progresses the more mediative it becomes. …. And freedom martial art does amazing presentation of this form.
