My wife is roughly the same age as yourself, she also has pretty much the exact same story. The ages are slightly different as are the songs..but the memory is the same as we lost my brother-in-law around this same time last year. Take care and thankyou for the comment.
Born in 1973, my brother was 8 years older than me. I remember at 7-8 years old sneaking into his "stay out" room and finding two records, one was Queen and the other Boston. I had my own record player and besides Disco Duck ----- my new love was Boston. Edit: yes, he figured out that I was taking his records and it cost me a beating but it was worth it
1976 i turned 18. Already playing in a local band .No one will ever surpass Boston. They made music that cannot be copied or cloned. My dad who was a musician and my inspiration loved Boston and the band Kansas. He passed away back in 1998. at the age of 75.
I'm not 60 but the feeling of the song changing definitely resonates with me. It's so funny I used to not like this song about a decade ago, now I keep coming back to it.
I'm 21 now, but always will remember the gold days when I was a kid playing this at guitar hero ❤️, Respect for who has living in this golden times! 💪❤️
To this day I can still remember back in 1976, as a Freshman in High School, spending one day at my cousins house watching this record spinning round on his turntable and listening to this brand new album. We were in awe of how beautiful and great these songs were. This year, 2022, I'm about to turn 60 and I'm still amazed.
Yes, I remember how beautiful this song sounded coming out of my cheep/crappy speakers, the year was 1976 and I was 16 years old, just turned 62 still love this band
I’m 38 I’m happy for you , my dad would play this when I was as a kid, now he’s not here all I have is this , I hope he enjoyed this as much as you did.
criminally underrated. actually CIVILLY underrated. Boston had some sort of disagreement->lawsuit with their record company. cbs basically froze Boston out of the media industrial complex as a result. that's why they don't have the recognition they otherwise deserve.
@@stanleyarnstrong3871 John Lennon said the best rock music is “primitive.” John said the genre should avoid “intellectualism” but progressive rock such as Sergeant Pepper was about making rock music more complex. Songs like Satisfaction by the Stones are unintellectual= simple
I'M 64 YEARS YOUNG. I WAS A JUNIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT. I STILL CAN'T GET ENOUGH IT. SINCE THEN I LOST A DAUGHTER AT BIRTH 43 YEARS AGO. MARRIED TWICE, DIVORCED ONCE. I NOW HAVE A 32 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER FROM HER I HAVE 11 YEAR OLD GREAT LOOKING GRANDSON, AND AN EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL 8 YEAR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER. I ALSO HAVE A 26 YEAR OLD SON. THEIR MOTHER AND/ GRANDMA AND I WERE GETTING READY TO CELEBRATE 25 YEARS OF MARRIAGE ON NOVEMBER 10TH 2020. SHE PASSED AWAY ON SEPTEMBER 25TH 2O20. A NON-COVID PASSING. 43 YEARS OF MORE THAN FEELING. THIS SONG HAS PULLED ME THROUGH GOOD AND SAD TIMES. I OWE IT ALL TO THIS SONG. I GET KNOCKED DOWN I LISTEN TO THIS SONG, AND I GET UP STRONGER THAN EVER.
This is before my time as well. I was born in 1994. This is the kind of music my family listened to when I was growing up. Therefore, it became my favorite. Boston is my all time favorite rock band. In my opinion a More Than A Feeling is their greatest song ever. Peace of Mind comes in at a close second, then Don’t Look Back.
This is a timeless classic that can't and shouldn't be remade or duplicated!! It's just perfect the way it is on the day and time this song was first 📹 recorded!!!!
Just can't beat the way this song transitions from verse to chorus. It is incredibly satisfying... I remember the chorus hooked me instantly the first time I heard it. It perfectly encapsulates the emotional meaning behind the song too. During the chorus is when you are taken back to those good old days, reliving them all over again, and its a great time. Until it fades again. I feel this back and forth as the song makes transitions throughout. Beautiful song.
Was? You mean is. I could listen to this masterpiece of a song for hours and not get tired of it. Everything about it is outstanding. My favorite parts are the intro and the second verse. I always have to listen to the intro a few times before listening to the whole song.
I was a senior in high school when the album hit the charts. Being from Boston, these guys blew me away like no other group. Brad Delp had one of the most incredible vocals in rock history. Still can’t fathom why he checked out. Gifted vocals. Brad Delp is so missed in the rock world.
This is the greatest, most complete, and perfect song ever! Please don't comment. If you're listening to the song, you know it's GREAT! Don't comment, just listen and feel amazing! The last verse is the greatest in rock history! It has everything-great lyrics, great guitar, and that "I can't get it loud enough" factor.

Yet I still recall as I wander on
As clear as the sun in the summer sky
It's more than a feeling

When I hear that old song they used to play
(More than a feeling)
I begin dreaming
(More than a feeling)
'Til I see Marianne walk away
I see my Marianne walkin' away
When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped away

My wife is roughly the same age as yourself, she also has pretty much the exact same story. The ages are slightly different as are the songs..but the memory is the same as we lost my brother-in-law around this same time last year. Take care and thankyou for the comment.
Boston Keep on Rocking...
th-cam.com/channels/SJVxm8im3oFYdgvw5GrAig.html
Born in 1973, my brother was 8 years older than me. I remember at 7-8 years old sneaking into his "stay out" room and finding two records, one was Queen and the other Boston. I had my own record player and besides Disco Duck ----- my new love was Boston. Edit: yes, he figured out that I was taking his records and it cost me a beating but it was worth it
My older brother wasn't keen on me listening to his records either, but I sometimes did do.
This album and this song in particular is one of, if not the greatest rock record ever made. And it was all mostly done by one person.
Tommy!
Tom is the MIT graduate and genius behind the sound. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Scholz
If you've been in love and lost love, this song has special meaning. It's beautiful and sad in the same 😢
Amen
1976 i turned 18. Already playing in a local band .No one will ever surpass Boston. They made music that cannot be copied or cloned. My dad who was a musician and my inspiration loved Boston and the band Kansas. He passed away back in 1998. at the age of 75.
Sorry about your dad hope all is well
To me, it has a different meaning at age 60 than it did at 15.
Very well said.
What is that meaning now?
@@alexm7627 It means he's to miserable to reply lol
@@southwestadventures5508 dont be a prick mate
I'm not 60 but the feeling of the song changing definitely resonates with me. It's so funny I used to not like this song about a decade ago, now I keep coming back to it.
True classics never die...👍🎸🥁🎼🎵🎤👏👏👏
I’m a kid at 61, but this song defined my teens and my own Mary Ann in ‘76/77. I’ve played this a million times and it never gets old.
Our soul never gets old.
Right man
I'm 21 now, but always will remember the gold days when I was a kid playing this at guitar hero ❤️, Respect for who has living in this golden times! 💪❤️
I was nearly to playing in expert those times when I was a kid 😢
I do I still have guitar hero
DIME-BAG DARRYL FROM \PANTERA/!!!!NOW THATS A REALTRUE GUITAR HERO!! "GET YOUR PULL TEXAS STYLE "!😈❤️🔥🤘🤟💪🦾
It was a good song to play on Guitar Hero 🎸
Wow, so young, great taste in music and glad younger generations keep discovering the greats ♥️
Absolutely beautiful. I’m 51. This is one of my favorite songs
I can listen to this song over and over and never tire of it.
Love this! Takes me back to the best years of my life!
This is the only album I’ve bought 4 times: on vinyl, cassette, CD, and MP3. I stream it now, too. This is the greatest rock album of all time, IMO.
What, no 8-track?
I did the same for The Proclaimers' Sunshine On Leith
@@donl3248 😆
Newcomers. Lol.
I have it on vinyl and CD, been trying to find it on cassette as well
To this day I can still remember back in 1976, as a Freshman in High School, spending one day at my cousins house watching this record spinning round on his turntable and listening to this brand new album.
Yep. I'm 53 a bit behind bug similar experience .
I’m 38 I’m happy for you , my dad would play this when I was as a kid, now he’s not here all I have is this , I hope he enjoyed this as much as you did.
Just turned 59 and still listening To this beautiful song 💜💜💜💜
was a junior
Heard it first 5 years ago, was 14 then. Still continues to be my favourite 5 years on.. cant seem to find any better ones out there
Been listening to this for 47 years and it NEVER GETS OLD
Agreed
Brings back all the old friends and good times, never fails
old codger
In my opinion this is the most beautiful classic rock that made. The rhythm the lyrics, the vocalist, the guitar solo and the all band...2022
Yess!! 💖💫✨👏🎶🎸😇🕯️
Graduated High School in 1977 I just remember walking into the lunchroom and this song playing. Magical 💕
Class of 77. The 70 s were the greatest
Wished these guys had more recognition. Criminally underrated. 🎸💯
Overrated {Underrated} comment, strikes again…😛
Dude their debut sold, what, 11 million LPs???
@@elduderino5390 >> I think it was 17 million.
criminally underrated. actually CIVILLY underrated.
Boston had some sort of disagreement->lawsuit with their record company.
cbs basically froze Boston out of the media industrial complex as a result.
that's why they don't have the recognition they otherwise deserve.
A great band in the 70s. Golden band. I was 15 years old. It reminds me of my great parents I had.
I cannot believe this song never hit number one when it is one of the best ever rock songs. It shows that most people only like simple pop tunes.
It's THE BEST Rock song, ever!
I wonder how many really are that simple-minded after the age of 23 or so. I was into intricate stuff at age 14. Dad was a good guitarist.
@@stanleyarnstrong3871 John Lennon said the best rock music is “primitive.” John said the genre should avoid “intellectualism” but progressive rock such as Sergeant Pepper was about making rock music more complex. Songs like Satisfaction by the Stones are unintellectual= simple
I can't believe that either. Competition was tough in that era but not topping chats I can't comprehend!
@@gabrielbarraza2202 the demand was great ,back then
Best and highest quality record ever
yes¡¡¡¡¡¡
What a classic a blessing to our ears .
This was my childhood. Nothing can bring back those memories as this song. ❤️🤟

Pretty cool sound that Boston put out...
Vine aquí solo por The Kiss Bet ... Excelente decisión de mi Oliver ❤️❤️❤️

literally the best music ever made
I'M 64 YEARS YOUNG.
I was at Harvard, talk about being next door.
I too 64 years old 😢❤
Possibly the greatest rock song ever recorded, and possibly the greatest rock singer ever. Brad, the world just hasn't been the same....
3:39
This here, and Freddie's high note in Bohemian Rhapsody, are the two most godlike vocal moments in rock history
Roger Daughtry YEEEEAAAAAHHHHH in "won't get fooled again" tops all of them
@GeoffWilkerson you cant even hear it
YES.
One of the thing I'm the most proud of in my life is reaching Freddie's high note
And daltreys scream in Won't Get Fooled Again!
Still a superb song.. listening in 2023😊
I'm 61 years young and still jamming to Boston on this beautiful day in San Antonio, May 9th, 2024!!!!!
Over forty years have passed since this song was released and it still sounds new!!
Good music lasts forever...
This is way before my time, but wow.. that production still holds up today, in 2022. Amazing song!
Same
This is before my time as well.
Absolutely
Every time I hear the classics. It takes me back to my teen years and makes me feel young again.....
This is the greatest song ever created and played, absolutely perfection.
Almost perfect
The story behind how this LP was created is amazing
Keep on Rock'n... Boston has some good songs.
I'm so happy we live in a world with this song and Peace of Mind
Don’t forget Don’t Look Back and A Man I’ll Never Be. Those are more of my favorites by this awesome band.
I wont, they're all good songs
Such a great song!!!!❤
Just can't beat the way this song transitions from verse to chorus. It is incredibly satisfying... I remember the chorus hooked me instantly the first time I heard it.
It perfectly encapsulates the emotional meaning behind the song too. During the chorus is when you are taken back to those good old days, reliving them all over again, and its a great time. Until it fades again. I feel this back and forth as the song makes transitions throughout. Beautiful song.
I was nine years old when I first heard it that way.
absolutely correct - it is beautiful
Agree
Never, and I mean never was such a perfect rock song ever recorded.
This song was so much fun to listen to.
Was? You mean is. I could listen to this masterpiece of a song for hours and not get tired of it. Everything about it is outstanding. My favorite parts are the intro and the second verse. I always have to listen to the intro a few times before listening to the whole song.
Saw them at the Capital Center back in the 70's. Dreams do come true.
I was a senior in high school when the album hit the charts. Being from Boston, these guys blew me away like no other group. Brad Delp had one of the most incredible vocals in rock history. Still can’t fathom why he checked out. Gifted vocals. Brad Delp is so missed in the rock world.
Today Is March 9th 2022, 15 Years Ago Today Brad Decided To Take His Life, I Was Almost 20 in 2007 When He Did This, I've Been Devastated Ever Since.
I was thirteen when it was released,I'm 59 now and I've cranked the volume every time I've heard it ever since. That voice! Such a loss.
Wow. Your comment about Brad was heartfelt and eloquent. God bless you for that. Brad is sorely missed these days.
He had a sign around his neck that read ‘I’m a broken man’ how tragic 💔
@@shirala1972 Actually, it was "I am a lonely soul."
One of the best rock songs ever
Can't get enough of this tune. Ever! Eveything is arranged so...perfectly. Pure joy!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Timeless. Flawless. I grew up on this, thank u to everyone who appreciates it as much as me. Your legends.
Greatest debut album ever!!
Amen
This is the greatest, most complete, and perfect song ever! Please don't comment. If you're listening to the song, you know it's GREAT! Don't comment, just listen and feel amazing! The last verse is the greatest in rock history! It has everything-great lyrics, great guitar, and that "I can't get it loud enough" factor.

I was born in 1976 my parents made me listening to this song .here i am breathing and enjoying every song of boston in Africa namibia.
It's a crime that this band is not in the Rock n Roll hall of fame.
No because the Rock n Roll hall of is IRRELEVANT ..
See who is 'inducted' then you will see the relevance.. 😐
The band named after a state where I came from play definitely deserve to be on Rock and Roll Hall of Fame true that for life
When I'm feeling down or times are sad this song always picks me up
Best ending to a rock anthem ever.
When I'm tired and thinking cold, I hide in my music, forget the day
Nothing better than rocking to a little Boston 🔥🔥🔥🎸
It's just one of those few songs that turns out to be a masterpiece.
If I am ever in a coma I hope they have enough sense to play this full blast in order to wake me up.....because it will !
