    So my 9 year old LG ln5700 finally died. Other than wifi connection issues it had it was a decent TV. But after getting my wife a Samsung and liking the picture better I've decided to go that route.

    I own the LG 86UP8000PTB and its a phenomenal TV for the price. An 86" TV is insane to begin with but for the price you absolutely cannot go wrong! Added with my 7.1 surround sound system, gaming and movies are superb 👌

    I went for the LG mainly because of the dual audio output option. I use bluetooth hearing aids and the LG has an option to keep on the TV speakers when in Bluetooth (or optical output) mode. This enables other people watching to hear the sound. I agree that is a little darker than the Samsung. It is slightly improved by switching off Power Saving.

    • @baveshkola
      @baveshkola 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear John,
      Dual sound option is also available in Samsung. We can connect to 2 Bluetooth speakers at a time and can hear sound from TV as well as those connected 2 Bluetooth devices.

    Great video! I prefer the Samsung in this one. The brightness is a huge one for me and Samsung is a clear winner for this. The rest are just personal needs and I do like the LG remote but the Samsung apps for me is a winner. Samsung seem like they kind of force the picture and it’s less natural but it allows for a better viewing experience for me.

    Thank you for this very informative video. I specifically needed to see the LG remote. I wish I'd seen it before buying the Samsung at Costco which I ended up returning the very next day. The Samsung remote and system is overwhelmingly complicated to use. I am going back to buy the 50" LG tomorrow. It's a brand that I currently have and know that it's user friendly.

    From my experience u don’t wanna use vivid mode because u don’t get to use game modes low latency feature. without it there’s a lot of input lag in game for me atleast. There’s a variety of ways to adjust ur game mode brightness . While ur system is on click the settings button on the remote make sure ur on the game mode picture mode and then select game optimizer u can then adjust ur black and white stabilizers for a brighter picture. I keep my panal brightness at 95-100 , my contrast at 95-100 and my screen brightness at 50%-60% . also I keep hdr map toning on ussaly but it significantly dims the screen somtimes in certain game environments . Turning on auto dynamic contrast can brighten the screen nicely to. Medium and high over contrast so I don’t use em. Use gamma 2.2 it’s the brightest . Switching the tvs black level from limited to full or vice versa can produce a brighter screen ussaly . U can also go into color fine tune and turn on color upgrade to make the screen brighter and more vivid. Plus u can turn in game brightness up to…
    I’ve been messing around with the settings a lot😅

    Thanks for the comparison and info. I have always bought Samsung and they are great TVs. I still own two old 40c7000 circa 2010. They’re HD but still look good today. I have done a lot of research and opted for the 50” LG which I collect from Argos today. I will be retiring my C7000 to one of the bedrooms. I did buy a Hisense 50” a couple of years ago. It was just too dark even after me altering the settings. I ended up giving it away and went back to the old c7000……. Enjoying watching your videos. Keep up the great work. Greetings from the UK.

    Really looking forward for this review! I personally prefer UP8000. Details, colors & contrast are better from AU8000 in my opinion. AU8000 is surely brighter but also looks washed out. Great review as usual Steve. Another comparison between UP8000 vs X80J or Nano75 I think would be interesting.

  • @silvydb
    @silvydb 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

    I work around these all day, for me the lg always has better colors and the brightness on the Samsung makes the colors looks washed. Thats how its always been for me, their darks to the eye are pretty on par so the Samsung technically has better contrast. But whats the use if its brightness makes those colors seem weird. If you are watching hdr content they will perform really similarly but but if its sdr you want the LG for sure. Also when i have them side by side the samsung feels less detailed and there is a lot of things i cnt see....again this is with sdr content

    But you lied in this video when you said Samsung TV supports a lot of games and applications
    Because I am sure that I have witnessed it myself. There is no Samsung TV that works with Google TV or webOS TV

    The Samsung is brighter and it seems to pop a lot more. On the other hand, the LG only appears to have higher contrast because it has significantly less brightness. Generally, the LG is about $30 less, so if you have it in a darker room it may not matter much. If you're a gamer or care about a brighter/vibrant picture, I'd go with the Samsung.

    Sorry, this is off topic, but please try to help if possible.
    I had purchased a Nano 80 (55 inch; 2020 model) and due to dead pixels I had escalated a complaint.
    Lg has approved a replacement, but due to non-availability of Nano 80, they're willing to provide me with the 65 inch variant of Lg UP 8000 (2021).
    Please give your opinion if I should agree to this or not considering the fact that they're offering me a 10 inches larger TV and a newer model with WebOs 6 (unlike WebOs 5 on Nano 80) at no extra cost.
    If possible, please reply soon as I need to confirm this to Lg today itself.

    I bought UP8000 LG TV two weeks ago and fortunately returned it today and bought a AU8000 Samsung TV. To be honest, this LG model had a very low quality in terms of construction and display, also in white and gray images when stare at the image, you see white and black fades . When I asked to LG custom service what is wrong with this TV?! They answered because, It has low quality parts on display at this LG TV’s price which was true. Anyway, today I received my Samsung and I was happy to see the quality of Display and all other services 👌🏻

    I have the Samsung 8000 and owned it for a year so ya it’s good as for the screen and good sound and I bought from Best Buy and the geek squad came out 2 times to fix my tv (first time the screen had all green or red colors washed out and the 2nd time the screen at random will go dark and I mean DARK!)
    So now I’m getting it replaced but I don’t know if I’ll go back to that model but for the price it’s now $499 that if I can beat that with either Sony or LG or whoever.
