      Hey Steve, Which TV would you recommend. LG UP75006 or Samsung AU 7172 or the LG NANO756.
      To play PS5 and watch movies.
      It's for a bedroom. Simple budget TV. Not the main TV of the house

    I love the fact that you do budget TV comparisons and not just the top, hottest models! What I don't like is the widespread use of the "What do you think? Judge for yourself.". That's extremely hard when the picture we see has first gone through your camera, youtube's compression algorithms and got displayed at our often uncalibrated monitors. What you see personally and what we see can be two completely different things. I would much rather hear your first hand impressions, as subjective and biased as they may be, in as much detail as possible. Tell us what you see and not ask as what we see.

    • @TechSteve
      @TechSteve  2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I show enough details for people to make their own decisions. I highlighted what I thought through out the video. I stay bias for reasons my friend.

    • @karadawy

      @dsvilko Thank you. I was thinking that I was the only one to feel the comparison through my screen is so unfair

    • @CallagunWindsor
      @CallagunWindsor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At least both TV's are being recorded next to each other so you can actually see a comparison between the two, regardless of any post processing etc thats happening - they're always side by side and the same is happening to both so you are still able to make a comparison.

    • @dsvilko
      @dsvilko 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@CallagunWindsor this is a very common misconception. Unfortunately, it far from true. I'll give you a few very common examples. You see on the video that the TV 'A' has a bit brigher picture but highlight details are completely missing (sky is almost completely white and featureless). TV 'B' is a bit darker but with beautifully rendered cloudy sky. Which would you prefer? Most would chose B. That could be the right choice or it could be that the TV A has the same level of detail (or more!) and looks much better IRL but either the camera or your monitor didn't have wide enough dynamic range to show those highlights and they got clipped. It's impossible to tell. The same goes for shadow detail. The same goes for colors. A TV that can produce a brigher, more saturated color would paradoxically end up looking worse on the video, with washed out colors, when compared to a TV with dimmer and less saturated color (anyone who knows anything about image processing understands this). The only thing you can relatively confidently judge from the video comparison is which picture is overall brigher. You can't compare contrast, dynamic range, highlight/shadow detail, color accuracy or saturation. You can see the difference in those things on the video but unfortunately there is no way of knowing is the picture you prefer on the video also the one that is better IRL. Due to physical way digital cameras work and how color information gets stored and displayed, it's simply not true that the process will degrade two different screens by the same amount or even in the same way.
      A good reviewer should do everything he can to point to this fact and emphasis objective measurements or even his subjective impressions. Unfortunately, it's enough that people seem to be happy with what they are getting (they can clearly see the difference!) regardless of the truth. Staying 'objective' and asking people for their opinion seems fair, engaging, respectful and in the process results in more views and more $$$. Unfortunately, what in reality it's not is honest but it's good for business.

      @@TechSteve I would prefeer a more biased review too. its hard to gather ones own conclusion when we dont have the tv. from what i saw in the video it seemed like the lg has a deep black, but everyone is talking about it having greyish blacks. but that could be because you had a low brightness. so blacks are black but contrast is shit?

    I’m partial to LG but have had multiple TVs from both brands. I find the UI and menus of Samsung TVs to be more intuitive and easier to figure out. I prefer the picture on the LGs I have used, though, and overall liked the looks of the LG in this video over the Samsung, though both looked good. I currently have a 43 inch LG class 75 QNED in my bedroom that is impressing me with its colors, brightness and other good traits. @@ragingrobsta2684 sorry for taking so long to reply.
      From my uneducated point of view, on my Hisense U7QFTUK (which can reach a peak brightness of 750nits I believe, and has FALD), is that Dolby Vision content looks more natural and believable. HDR content is intended really to shine in tv sets with 1000nit brightness or above (unless you have an OLED, where the near limitless contrast helps out a little here).
      Tvs with lower peak brightness, like budget tvs who have peak brightness of 200-400 nits usually, will end up clipping a lot of the details in HDR 10 content. The Dolby Vision metadata interacts with your tv and makes picture setting adjustments in every scene to make the very most out of what your tv has to offer.
      It eeks out an extra 10-20% in picture quality I feel, and when you're on a budget, than can mean a lot with a tv that has limitations.

    I recently bought the LG NANO75. I dont know how to describe this. My initial impression was amazing. Like, this is a TV worth buying. But after days of using it. I realised that when playing games and you're in a dark place, its hard to see. So, I increased the backlight brightness and Contrast. But whenever it reaches maximum, it looks great but my eyes hurt. So I reduce it to 85 percent, barely see anything but my eyes is fine. I don't know.
    Not sure if the tv is not supposed to be on the level of brightness or its a problem of my eye. Which is a shame, cos I like this TV.

    I had the LG 75NANO80 ($1799 CND) for almost a month and the one thing I couldn't get over was the blooming in dark scenes. I decided to return it for a more expensive QN85Q70 ($2800 CND).
    Once I had it setup, my wife and I immediately saw the difference in picture quality. The images from the Q70 produced was softer and natural to the eyes. It wasn't straineous to naked eye like the 75Nano80. My wife complained that the LG was too bright and was painful to watch bright and colorful scenes. I couldn't get over the blooming. On the Q70, the blooming was all but eliminated and reflection was reduced thanks to the anti reflective coating.
    The one good thing about the Q70 is the stand, it can fit onto any size table ( I don't understand why other companies don't offer middle stands with large screens).
    Anyway, I recommend the Q70 if you don't want blooming, for the extra money I think it's worth it especially when your staring into a massive screen watching any content. I think QLED is the more superior due to the VA panel and the duel LED.
    The Titan software is more responsive that the LG WebOS but I really like the LG magic remote ( reminds me of the Nintendo Wiimote), then the Samsung (more physical buttons are a plus in my books).
    My advice is to spend time (within your 30 days to return policy) with family and nitpick the tv. Watch your favorite tv shows/ movies and games but test smaller screens tv's to test and return then like myself who started with a 75" then went to 85".

    Okay i think you didnt mentioned the most important part... of the video. Which is the most durable of the two... im my experience i always go for samsung because of its look and its brightness and for gaming purposes. However samsung is good for maximum of 2 yrs with heavy using.. then you will see the picture burns on the screen.. either there will be shadow frame on the screen or a map shadow when its dark scene already.. so i decided to buy lg for now.. because according to the sales rep. That i ask lg is much heavy duty and it has 2 yrs warranty than samsung.. this is from my country.. the warranty. I dont know in different countries
    So thats why i pick lg over samsung. Due to its warranty and hopefully it will not burn sooner..

I know it's a deal to good to be true a A1 OLED. Your input would e great. OLED A1 is definitely a good price but again you get what you pay for . Plus the Burn In to much of a turn off. Thanks in Advance 🤝 hope you and your are Safe and Healthy.

    Because of using a VA panel on the 50" lg, I passed on this model. Reason? It flushed out quickly when changing viewing angles as compared to the 43" lg of the same model which uses an IPS panel. Very disappointed here because I wanted a 50" model and thought both had the same panel, as I favor IPS panels.

    I’ve had 8 Samsung TV’s of varsity types including my last 4K Q7F and had a 1080 p 900 series both 75 Inch.I recently purchased this QN800 8K in 85 inch.I can only say that I don’t know yet if I have A bad one but it is The Worst TV I’ve ever had.The panel itself is slightly bent.The one connect box input for IO Optical cable will not lock on the lead and keeps coming loose.Not that bothered about that as I’m changing to EARC HDMI.The picture quality on a lot of media looks like Standard Definitely.You can’t tell much different between SD and HD.4K HDR is absolutely dreadful the dark scenes are to black and the bright scenes are blindingly bright.The overall picture looks blurry and really not sharp.Brights scenes are washed out.Really poor overall picture quality.Don’t tell me to change settings as I knew all about the complete menu on this TV before purchasing and have spent hours and hours trying to achieve a good picture.I do a lot of pro editing and have had cinema rooms and AV equipment for decades so I can say I haven’t missed anything.I purchased new HDMI 2.1 cables and the tv is connected to the Internet via a cat 8 cable with a very strong signal.I cannot believe that this TV could be so bad.My last 4K set is in my storerooms and I think it’s coming back.I’m going to the store to try and change this TV for something else.Over €5400 Euros waisted.Plus the fitting and a new wall bracket and disruption.
