Would have liked to have bought the Nano, but since this was a nice gift to our family due to our old TV needing repair and only costing the gifter $300, still pleased with the performance for the price point. Once we get the old TV fixed, the UP7000 will still be a great back up for our 3rd room.

Thanks! Best review video!! Your review video was easy to understand and demonstrated all the features I was concerned about. My older son wanted an extra tv in his apt/ bedroom , and he picked out the budget LG 7000 before I had enough time to research the model. I am going to buy the nano tv for him and take the 7000 back( it's arriving today)! I think it'll end up being too dark. Thank you so much for helping us avoid a big disappointment down the road. I got an excellent deal on an LG Nanocell 50 two days ago and hooked up a Vizio sound bar and noticed most of the sound was coming out of the satellite speakers. This was a product of using auto instead of PCM. Thanks for your videos, very informative.

Here's a suggestion (I know it's an old video but it still applies), tilt the left and right tv towards the camera when doing a 3 TV comparison. I have just got the 43NANO75 and yes out of the box picture quality could of been better but playing around I tweaked it to how I like it and also when connected to my PC I get 12bit with YCbCr422

If you still have the Nanocell is it bright enough for watching movies with dark scenes especially NON 4K FHD ones? What about the upscaling of SD content (i.e. old series aired on SD/HD tv channels). Thanks in advance.
hey tec steve many thanks for your great review its just what i wanted to see and think you addressed all the issues i was searching for keep up the good work and thanks again M in the UK

I bought a 43up7500 last month aparently it was manufactured on 2022 and it has VA panel, supports HDR10 pro and it has a 10bit panel and it is a mid point between the up8000 and nano 75 for some reason im really loving gaming on it because of the really good contrast you get with the VA panel
I recently ordered an up7670 from Costco, then saw a Nano in Best Buy for just $120 more and wondered if I made the right call. If the 7670 is somewhere between the 7000 and 8000, I'm good. The Nano seems brighter but I like the contrast and colors of the other two. You can hardly even see the blue/red shadows on the girl's face in that one shot.
Thanks for the great comparison I need right now! We have the 65uh5500 but I guess the motherboard is dead from what I see online. It turns on, audibly clicks, and then turns off. :( in any case, I’m thinking of getting the 8000 tomorrow. I have a decent size room so need the viewing angle, don’t want to break the bank seeing as how this last one only lasted 5 years, and I’m used to raising the brightness on the few services that give me uhd and gaming in uhd right now. I was looking to find out what was nanocell and if I would want it. You answered my question as no due to the viewing angles. Appreciate the comparison greatly. Thanks again!
The last really good budget LG was UM7300 series and the middle/higher end SM7000/8000/9000 series especially the SM9000 and SM9500 series. Lg is downgrading in terms of price/performance. Almost the same thing with Samsung, if you can get a good used NU8000/8500 series it's much better than any new models.
Hey Steve I just bought the NanoCell Nano75 50” (2021 version) and I was wondering does it have HDMI 2.1 and will it work good with my XSX? I haven’t took it out of the box and did anything with it yet cause I’m waiting for the maintenance crew here where I stay are supposed to be coming over and wall mounting it for me, thanks for this video Steve and keep up the good work.
So after taking a look at UP8000/7000 and the Nano 75, frankly I think the colors of the Nano didn't really do it for me. Maybe it's just me? I think the UHD versions have better colors, more true to life. Maybe it was just a bad demo video playing at the store. I think I'll go with the Nano 76, it looks like a good deal tho. What do you think Steve?
Buen día entre el lg nano 80 lg up7750 y el samsung au9000, cuál sería mejor para ver, películas oscuras y con ambientes iluminados relación costo beneficio gracias
Getting a Nano75 65 inch tomorrow. Wife liked it. I think it's too big. Great 4 movies, but I don't need to see the spit in the side of the weather man's mouth in my face when i get home from work.
Bought the 55up8000 and 2 1/2 months later it breaks down. It started with Alexa not working, then the auto updates not working to the thing saying it's having server issues and your internet not working and finally not being able to download the user agreement to use the apps and other stuff. Now I'm waiting for a tv technician to come over with parts to fix an 80 day old tv. I wish I would have done more research on the showroom floor at Best Buy before making this crappy purchase. First and last lg tv for me.
Why can't you do a detailed review on the Nano75 50" with the VA panel? This is the TV I'm thinking of getting and I can't find a good review on it ANYWHERE
I have the 50" 8000 on the way. Just found your great video. I need sports with no trails or ghosting. A few reviews said it did well with sports. I have an old 35" LG thats great and a $1k Sony that died. I hope for $350 this is watchable for sports. What adjustments could I make?
Hi Steve, if I use it as a Mac monitor most of the time for coding and internet browsing (i.e. looking at text), and only watch streaming videos once in a while, which one would you recommend? I don't play games, but I do care about if the color looks nature and I can see more details when editing movies or pictures (only once in a while). BTW, which one has closer color with iMac?
Great video !! Fyi... LG's site shows their UP7560AUD series, which features 3 HDMI ports, bluetooth connectivity, and their Magic Remote. How would this tv set stack up ?
It will be close to the UP8000 www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-50up7560aud-uhd-4k-tv?gclid=CjwKCAjw49qKBhAoEiwAHQVTo9-ls64k-qIHsxtzCzIl1y3BJK1aIV-Ljey64ZbjzF9qTy6ZR40HERoCpvYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
You could have set them up through the menu with correct colour settings, all same on all TVs. That would be better than just putting them in standard mode. When calibrated they are all much closer than the video concludes.
@@TechSteve Hi Steve, I meant that Standard is generally not accurate so expert modes or filmmaker might be better to compare between, with more accurate colours. I got a discount (399€) and bought 50UP77 with VA panel (I wanted VA because of better contrast ratio of 4700ish and I don't regret, ADS has around 1500) and picture is generally well, but lack of compatibility with DTS audio codecs is a deal-breaker. If I knew that I wouldn't buy it. It just doesn't play sound, silent film 🎥. This is bedroom TV so I didn't put in enough research.
Sorry man, I’ll never make everyone happy so I have to film the way that works for everyone. If you calibrate each TV the settings could be different. The best way is to go to the store if videos don’t help your choice.
@@TechSteve Oh it's fine I just thought it may make a difference. You have your way and that's completely fine, I was here to view the videos after all.
So watching the rear shots of each it says 43" Why did you not say IPS anytime por the size. I want the 50" Nano75 VA review not these, or the 60, Thanks
You must be new to the channel and welcome. Look through my videos and you will find the info that you need. I purchased all of these TVs and don’t work for a company. th-cam.com/video/xanZb4wvC-0/w-d-xo.html
If you were to buy an 85 inch. Would you get the 8000 or the nano? I am leaning towards the nano 75. I was looking at the 90 but it was an extra $700 so I am thinking about getting the 75.
Great video Steve! I agree that the UP8000 is probably the Best Buy of the 3. However before I look at purchasing one, how does it compare to the Samsung AU8000? which here in the UK is at the same price point.
Until I film a video, we can only talk about features. When I film these videos, I answer questions even wonder about. I know some sites do reviews and rate TVs but I feel seeing is believing.
@@TechSteve tnx, I can't decide between the 75up8050 and 75nano75, screen retention is my main concern, does the nano is more resilient in that regard or they both the same?
Should I be worried about screen burn? I play video games occasionally, Maybe 2 3 hours max a few times a week, but keep hearing the 8000 is susceptible to burn in
Can you tell me why the back light on the 86 in NAN0 LG tv looks bad...I jus got it Saturday and I'm thinking about returning it...other folks have said the same thing with their TV too..im upset
I have trouble understanding the different models from LG....here in Denmark there is the 65" Nanocell 75 and also the 65" Nanocell 79 on the marked, to almost the same price. What are the differences? What to go for?
Its Weird to see that Nano 75 performed really well up against Samsung Q60A qled tv which is VA panel well known for deep contrast ratio in Blacks.. but now Nano75 black level lower then its lower version models... 🙄
I'm wondering if the brightness of the nanocell is why the black level wasnt as good. Maybe the blacks are elevated due to more light output from the backlight?
There’s also a up7700 model thats priced about 50 dollars lower than up8000. The up8000 is exclusive to Best Buy. Wonder what the difference is as I can’t find them anywhere..
Oh, just realized that 50 inch has VA panel... I currently have 43 inch and I want ro upgrade it does that mean I only have 55 inch version? Which one would you recommend?
@@TechSteve I have these options(I liked the review and realized 8k series is better than nanocell for me): 55UN81003LB (540 euros) - 100Hz 55UN80003LA (560 euros) - 100Hz 55UP80003LA (OR B at the end) - 60Hz for 620 euros. Is it worth going for a newer model?
I am watching from my 7000pua. Doesn’t get much bright but I’m using a 50 inch in my bad room so it’s always lights off in day time and afternoon. Because of that I am able too enjoy movies and shows. I really love lg TVs I’m hooked to the eco system so easy to use and connect. I’m using the Sp8ya and spk8 rear kit. Oh I bought the magic remote easier use with the interface. What oled tv should I get c1 or c2? I want a oled because I game and I want the 120fps. Thank you
Dude i want to ask you your opinion about LG UN7300 and LG UP8000 , which tv of these two i should buy ? i like to watch movies with no stutter and sports without so much dirty effect, plese respond cause i need your experience, thank you in advance and i will subscribe to your channel
Here's the final takeaway: IPS panels are significantly better than VA panels when it comes to viewing angle and somewhat better than VA panels when it comes to color. VA panels, however, almost always offer deeper black levels and better overall contrast.Aug 3, 2022 www.reviewed.com › features IPS vs VA Panels for TVs-What's the Difference? - Reviewed
@@TechSteve cause I have a 43 inch lg nano75 and that is an ips panel but I prefer the picture on the 4 series amazon tv that is a va panel I beleve so is there a reason why I prefer that cause the va panel is clearly better performing on the amazon tv I think
I turned off all the enhancements features on this video and reset all of them to the default standard, it’s confusing I know. The Sony FX-3 camera is also showing more details then the Blackmagic 6k camera I was using. What a huge difference in what you see.

Because of the stand i have to go for the 7000 or 8000. Is there any difference between them🤔🤔??
So watching the rear shots of each it says 43" Why did you not say IPS anytime por the size. I want the 50" Nano75 VA review not these, or the 60, Thanks
You must be new to the channel and welcome. Look through my videos and you will find the info that you need. I purchased all of these TVs and don’t work for a company. th-cam.com/video/xanZb4wvC-0/w-d-xo.html
Great comparison sir.. I got 1 question, does UP8000 support Dolby Atmos passthrough? I plan to connect the tv to Dolby Atmos soundbar.
It should be compatible as long as the hdmi is connected to the HDMI with earc input
I'm hoping I made the right decision buying the LG 65" 7000 vs the Hisense u6
If you’re happy just use it and don’t look back
Cheers, Steve. Very useful.
Hi Tech Steve,
Is the 8000 called the 80 in Australia, or is that a different model?
Cheers mate.
Sorry Oliver, I don’t know the models in that area
which one to choose?
LG 50NANO77P
Samsung UE50AU9072
If you were to buy an 85 inch. Would you get the 8000 or the nano? I am leaning towards the nano 75. I was looking at the 90 but it was an extra $700 so I am thinking about getting the 75.
This video should help you, it’s your choice, th-cam.com/video/c72YZ7fpCRE/w-d-xo.html
Can you use a magic controller on the 43UP7000
Great video Steve!
I was hoping for an answer to this as well
yes steve, may u answer the question
@@TechSteve Do you have a video which may come close to answering this comparison

hi Steve... does the nanocell suffer from screen retention as any other LED TVs?
tnx in advance
Nope, if so it would take a very long time
@@TechSteve tnx, I can't decide between the 75up8050 and 75nano75, screen retention is my main concern, does the nano is more resilient in that regard or they both the same?
Steve, do a video on the various companies Software. I want a TV that will switch fast, between apps and channels, and not have and ADS.
Maybe one day, get a higher end TV with faster processor. Roku is probably the fastest and smoother os.
Should I be worried about screen burn? I play video games occasionally, Maybe 2 3 hours max a few times a week, but keep hearing the 8000 is susceptible to burn in
You will be fine
Can you tell me why the back light on the 86 in NAN0 LG tv looks bad...I jus got it Saturday and I'm thinking about returning it...other folks have said the same thing with their TV too..im upset
Have you experienced any screen flickering with the Nano 75? I just read somewhere that it does. Thank You.
Nope, but I don’t use it outside of videos
Very gooooood video! The best! Thank u!
Thanks
Im literally about to buy a 4k tv for my ps5... is the up8000 a solid choice?
Sure why not
@@TechSteve sub'd btw.. 1st time seeing ur vids. Ur legit
Thanks Stream Gawd 👍🏽
I have trouble understanding the different models from LG....here in Denmark there is the 65" Nanocell 75 and also the 65" Nanocell 79 on the marked, to almost the same price. What are the differences? What to go for?
Nanocell 75 is newer
Its Weird to see that Nano 75 performed really well up against Samsung Q60A qled tv which is VA panel well known for deep contrast ratio in Blacks.. but now Nano75 black level lower then its lower version models... 🙄
That kind'a surprised me, too.
I get my Nano75 tomorrow and will still give it a try though, including some adjustments in the settings.
@@mordotia Yeah. Some color calibration and fine tune will does the job, and will give the picture quality that we expect from these tv 👍
@@mordotia it'll be okay if it's a 43in as the screen isn't big enough to really expose poor specs.
Q60a has ads panel
I use this site www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/4f3524ce
Great video
Great review!!!!!
Thanks, how to enable gamebar on nanocell sir?
It depends on your model, specs on LGs website
Which one is better LG UP7750 or Samsung AU7000 ? Thanks
I got the LGUP7500 and so far so good . I streamed a movie and played PS4 and it looks pretty good
I'm wondering if the brightness of the nanocell is why the black level wasnt as good. Maybe the blacks are elevated due to more light output from the backlight?
I wish I knew, not impressed
There’s also a up7700 model thats priced about 50 dollars lower than up8000. The up8000 is exclusive to Best Buy. Wonder what the difference is as I can’t find them anywhere..
That’s why I find main stream model number, because that’s what most people see in the stores and online.
This was a great review thx

What are the differences in Up8000 series? Like there's 50UP80003LA, etc? Also, is there a 100hz up8k version? Should i bother to buy 100Hz over 60hz?
I would just so you know that it’s there
Oh, just realized that 50 inch has VA panel... I currently have 43 inch and I want ro upgrade it does that mean I only have 55 inch version? Which one would you recommend?
@@TechSteve I have these options(I liked the review and realized 8k series is better than nanocell for me):
55UN81003LB (540 euros) - 100Hz
55UN80003LA (560 euros) - 100Hz
55UP80003LA (OR B at the end) - 60Hz for 620 euros. Is it worth going for a newer model?
Steve, are you planning on reviewing the LG A1 since its the entry level OLED?
not at this time. next year i’ll have a bigger budget so we shall see
@@TechSteve Thanks for replying, looking forward to another great year of content.
Steve, how is the LG UP7560 43"? What year was it was released? Costco has it for $399.99.
I have no idea about Costco products. I film only main stream item so more people can enjoy.
@@TechSteve Understood.
I think I finally figured out that the Costco one is actually the UN7300 2020 model.
Great content
Thanks
Great Video!
Thanks 🙏🏽
@@TechSteve You are welcome. Please keep the good work going. I am a fan of how you review TVs.
Thank you for this
Guys better between: LG 75 Nano756 vs Samsung 75 Q60A.
Thaaaanks!!!!
Thank you
C2 it’s brighter, make sure it’s the WOLED panel
Dude i want to ask you your opinion about LG UN7300 and LG UP8000 , which tv of these two i should buy ? i like to watch movies with no stutter and sports without so much dirty effect, plese respond cause i need your experience, thank you in advance and i will subscribe to your channel
I haven’t had them side by side. The UP is a newer model tho
@@TechSteve thank you for answer my bro, one last question, did you notice any stuttering in those tvs?
Nah, I use high quality sources when filming
This was really helpful, I like the 8000 better.
Do you have an idea if the up7550 is closer to 7000 or 8000 ?
It’s a 7series right
thank you
Is an ips panel inferior to a va panel when it comes to brightness and making out a darker picture or scene
Here's the final takeaway: IPS panels are significantly better than VA panels when it comes to viewing angle and somewhat better than VA panels when it comes to color. VA panels, however, almost always offer deeper black levels and better overall contrast.Aug 3, 2022

IPS vs VA Panels for TVs-What's the Difference? - Reviewed
@@TechSteve cause I have a 43 inch lg nano75 and that is an ips panel but I prefer the picture on the 4 series amazon tv that is a va panel I beleve so is there a reason why I prefer that cause the va panel is clearly better performing on the amazon tv I think
What is your favorite budget tv regardless of brand?
I’m not bias to any model
What happened to the nano. It seemed to hold up well against the QLED Samsung Now it seems the blacks and darker colors are all washed out.
I turned off all the enhancements features on this video and reset all of them to the default standard, it’s confusing I know. The Sony FX-3 camera is also showing more details then the Blackmagic 6k camera I was using. What a huge difference in what you see.
Which has better picture quality b/w LG UM7790 vs SAMSUNG AU8000 for 43 inch ultra HD TV?
You should ask someone who has both models
