I bought the TCL C855K a couple of days ago, and has taken some time to calibrate it back to how I like it from my Previous LG. The sound is good at higher volumes, but I was expecting more bass from the subwoofer, but I have the TV running with my surround set up now using it to boost vocals, etc, and this works great The brightness is a bit irrelevant, really, as it just blows the picture out. One other annoying thing is that every time I change the input, it keeps putting the brightness setting back down!! (Edit, this is now sorted) Need to look into this further. The contrast adjustment seems to work as an additional brightness setting weirdly. You can adjust the sound for virtual surround, extra bass, extra vocals, and more, and it is worth doing to give it more punch. Gaming on the PS5 looks fantastic, so very happy with that and much better than my old LG, But when you run 4K sample vids in Dynamic, It just looks INCREDIBLE!! Boy does it POP and Blacks look superb with no blooming, My old LG only had 78 dimming zones so blooming was bad, Very bad! But not anymore 🙂 I did find that when using WIFI for streaming 4K content via Disney/Netflix etc the picture looked a little soft. ( I have 1 GIG BB) This has been made better by using a dedicated Ethernet connection. Still doesn't look as sharp as the LG but that had super resolution also. HDR looks insane in movies and games. Overall Very pleased with the set especially for the price I do not think it can be beaten for the size of it. Normal TV looks just the same as my old 6yr old TV so Upscaling is still crap, There is no way any of it especially HD channels 1080p look any where near 4K. But can highly recommend this tv. It honestly looks like an oled with more brightness. Loving it and beats tvs twice it's price.
Thanks for your in depth insight and for sharing your experience. I found the all the TVs mentioned here to be great option but in particular the TCL to be one to go for. The blacks is close to OLED and the brightness is insanely amazing. You mentioned colour washed out, you either select adaptive or turn down the brightness manually. Which size did you go for?
@APTechs I got the 65" and managed to pretty much sort it all now, and the picture and hdr is just amazing. Truly shocked at the black levels and no blooming that has jumped out at me yet. Would take this over Oled now for the brightness, and now blacks are so great. Bargain of a tv.
@@APTechs No competition here. Oled is far superior in viewing angle consistancy to any other method . But oled is also more prone to burn in and in my own LG CX's case suffers from rather short life span. 3 and a half years and to the garbage it goes.
Unfortunately we are not hard core gamers but based on our experience we have seen both being the same in terms of lag. However we are inclined to recommend TCL simply because of the price point as it delivers exceptional gaming performance same as the Samsung without spending huge fee.
im happy with my new 65C855, just 2 negative issues surprised me; 1) there is no PVR ? i mean the option for recording satellite TV channels not exists? 2) the eARC Hdmi is only 4k@60hz! i have AVR and i have a few devices to put in to this AVR by Hdmi in, like PC, PS5 etc. and wanted simply to hdmi out from my AVR to TV by 4K@120hz +eARC For Both above, is there any solution?
TCL is 2year warranty in UK meaning the quality is low. Most reviews just keep relaying on Hisense and TCL pictures quality which obviously they are doing well. Nobody is talking about durability
Fair point here. I wouldn’t be able to advise on durability as I have not had it for long period. Looking at the design the TCL is built well similar to the Samsung and I think 2 years is fair. You can get it insured if you’re concerned of breaking it down.
I guest correct :) even though you don't believe me. I'm not that impressed with the QN95D. I did my research and I will be going with the TCL for black friday as I can't afford the lgc4 at the 75/77 inch range. I do overall prefer the C4 but a little out my price.
New TVs are set to run standard factory settings. These settings are not optimized for your home or your personal preferences, and that’s where TV calibration comes in. It’s the process of fine-tuning your TV’s settings. To calibrate a TV you’ll need to adjust your brightness, colour, contrast, tint, sharpness, and HDR. The calibration will be based on your personal taste and your home. I would suggest you to profiles built in such as cinema mode or build a custom to suit your needs. I hope this helps.
@@MiG-40i Yes, it would. While G4 cannot be as bright as TCL, OLED is still superior to mini LED in terms of colours. The significant extra brightness that G4 has over C4 makes a huge difference in terms of OLED picture quality. Also, the title shouldn't claim to compare flagship TVs if you're not actually comparing flagship TVs.
Agreed LG G4 been flagship but the C4 is good comparison with the two TVs mentioned on this video as it sits right in the middle of price range. What should be highlighted in this discussion is that why the TCL is so cheap and performing well or should I say outperforming the LG? It’s fair to say that these TVs are not cheap so they will be classed above budget TVs.
Dude, forget the claimed numbers on watt's. that does not mean anything when it comes to soundquality. you dont know anything about the material/quality of the speaker. a 20 watt speaker can outperform a 100 watt speaker. so that numbers are really not important. i have a little bluetooth speaker with 10 watts and that sounds waaaay better than my tv speakers which are claimed at 60 watts. another thing is... that numbers are mostly peak watt data. makes the numbers even more useless.
They are both QLED. The TCL has slightly more brightness. 🔅

Thank you for your efforts but I have some criticisms. First of all, TCL has given terrible images. TCL's brightness is very high and the colors are extremely exaggerated. Since we do not know the real image, we cannot understand which one shows how accurately. As for the sound, the volume is of course an important criterion but the clarity of the sound, the ability to produce bass and treble sounds are much more important. A sound-like "noise" would be torture on a 60 Watt speaker. But, if I have to make a comment, I think LG has given the most natural colors, we cannot comment on the sound due to we cannot hear it, and in terms of price, I think the middle ranges are always better. So my vote is for LG.
Thank you for your comment and we will take onboard your feedback. I like how you have assessed based on the information to hand. We are not audiophile so this is not our best area of expertise but based on judging sound, we feel like Samsung been best. The LG the worst because it uses AI to enhance audio which sounds gimmicky, when watching movies, sound goes up too loud in random scene so we rated this as the lowest. The good thing is that LG gives you the option to turn off the AI image and sound so no deal breaker there.
It depends if your fan of OLED. Personally I love OLED TVs but QLED are becoming really impressive and you can see the TCL/Samsung standing bold next to the LG.

Haha I did. Everyone has their own taste with image settings. The TCL provided better contrast and brightness and the LG showed better in darker seen. They are all great options but TCL has better value for money in all round.
When you’re at the store the TVs are not side by side which is the issue I had. Plus at the store you have no control on the image settings so it’s demonstrated based on manufacturer standard settings so it’s never easy to judge it from that stand point.

So after all the reviews, I bought this 65” TCLC855 model for my home.
