    Finally an automaker other than Tesla that uses the information from their fleet of data collectors.

    This is needed on Essingeleden in Stockholm, but the speed limit is 70.
    I fear for my life in rush hour or even on Saturdays trying to reach the far left lane to exit (it was built before we started driving on the right).

    I test drove a Cupra Born yesterday and fell in love with it. I genuinely want to order one but the whole plan has been screwed up as it seems you can’t order one with the Pilot L option on it. So no proper assisted driving features.

      What do you mean with no proper driving assist?
      Is the travel assist of my "old" ID.3 part of Pilot L and the currently available Pilot M+ does only support lane assist?
      That would be the whole story all over again, as I didn't get the side sensors on my ID.3 back then...

  • @srasc3595
    @srasc3595 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video. Hopefully swarm data will solve the problems of the ID thinking the speed should be something that is clearly wrong. We have a local road which is 40mph (road signs along the road too) and yet it sets the speed to 110mph, which is so dangerous. Who can this be reported too? It would be nice if there was an option (similar to the old TomTom sat navs) whereby you can teach the software to know what the correct speeds should be.

  • @TheRealThirdME
    @TheRealThirdME 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Is it gonna use swarm data to correct the errors in speed limits there are in places?

      @BatteryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      At some point, not yet.

    • @cactusoft
      @cactusoft 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ACC is unusable unless you set the car to ignore all speed limits. Aside from hard braking from 120 to 70 for no reason once or twice an hour, is then returns to the speed limit, regardless of what speed you had set. So if you're going at 110 and it hard brakes to 70 (because for some reason it thinks it is in a 70 limit) when it thinks the limit is 120, it then accelerates up to that, instead of the 110 speed you had it set at. It's like it does the difficult stuff well, and the simple stuff terribly.

      @@BatteryLife Yea i saw but it seems loads of people on Facebook et. are saying their late-2021 cars from later didn't have them, so I don't know. It's all very mysterious! Perhaps in July, some were able to get them but not all? Either way, even if was July.. can't be many of the overall pool of vehicles to date. I just think it's overall a shame - given the demo preproduction cars had them - that the higher-end specs from the start didn't include them. id have been happy to pay via software upgrade even on my (November 2020) 'Tech' if VW had put them in. Of course, all these features are 'nice to have and not indispensable but it irritates when you buy the 'Tech' spec (which is all basically nice to have like HUD ) that half the tech is now basically missing. I think Tesla has better understood this and will upfront the hardware costs to ensure future service-enabled revenue. Either way, i would like to stress how i do appreciate your videos /posts - you do a good job for the community. VW themselves, should, i think for later accountability reason, be more direct and provide a detailed breakdown of what is coming, to whom, which models etc. It would calm a lot of people down. There should be a nice table and fact sheet for us somewhere - perhaps you could do it if they dont ;)

    Has the pACC improved?
    The "predictive" part in the pACC is not working at all on curvy country side roads because almost all speed limitations due to curves are wrong and it is driving much too fast on those roads.

    I find it frustrating that VW knew of this swarm feature and didn't even equip 2021 models with the side sensors, mine was built in July and delivered Mid October 2021.

    (Sorry to spam here again but you are the font of all knowledge - ) but .. did VW give a reason/idea why we can't have 3.0 at the same time as 2,4 (and even installed by the dealers while we are at it) ? I mean I'm just wondering what the delay is all about! It clearly exists - you used it!

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2.4 cannot be OTA. 3.0 can only be installed after 2.4
      And I guess it is easier to get 3.0 via OTA, then to stay at the workshop a day longer.

    • @bonnaud_dowell

      @@BatteryLife Let's just hope - for customers and VW alike - the 3.0 arrives more efficiently and reliably than 2.1 otherwise it'll be the same 9-month saga all over again! I still think it's WILD they didn't design them to come via , with an option, one's own Wifi connection (which you can set up in the car, but is utterly useless right now)
