We have just taken delivery of a 2022 MY Polo with ACC and Travel assist. On paper, it's a really comprehensive safety system. Practically, it's almost mind-blowingly complex to operate. No doubt, using it over time will ease the operating issues but initially, it's not simple and seems counter-intuitive.
Sorry, VW. You've created a good safety system but made it far too complicated.

I've a 2020 golf and have turned off every possible gimmick I can find so I'm left with a vehicle that's safe to drive without stupid complicated distractions. Unfortunately I can't replace the insane electronic parking brake with a manual handbrake (I still can't work out the hill hold??!), permanently turn off the start stop feature or prevent the stupid sign that appears whenever I start the car to advise me to observe the safety regulations. I won't even get started on the horrendously complex and dangerous infotainment screen or the unnecessarily complicated heating and air con system. It's a blasted nightmare - designed by idiots. Give me a car not a computer. I wish I'd bought a Corolla instead. 🤯

Disappointed to learn that Parking Assist Plus is not available for US owners. Region based features are dumb. Let the consumer at least have the option to buy it as an added option. 🤪🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️

My guess is because the chip is manufactured in China. USA & China are not on good terms. 🤷‍♂️
