- EU4 Burgundy is one of my long standing nemesises. Today, I play as EU4 Brittany, where AI Burgundy helps me to attack EU4 France... until they betrayed me. I also ally EU4 Castile, conquer EU4 Portugal and fight EU4 England in what would be the strangest EU4 Guide ever made... if it wasn't so brilliant. Anyway, watch as we attempt to unify the france region and DOMINATE EUROPE!

I've been having a tough week, it's a bit odd to be sentimental on an eu4 youtuber, but I really can't emphasize how much I just need to relax at night and watch these videos, they really keep me going some days.

Same here. I've been struggling with depression a lot over the past year, and needed a distraction from my thoughts in order to keep me safe at times...well, Grand Strategy games take enough concentration to stop my mind from wandering, Laith's personality makes the videos feel entertaining enough to help raise my mood, and the very frequent uploads means there's always content there for me when I need it.

So, can we see more of this beautiful Burgundy? Reminds me of one of ny earliest games as Burgundy in EU4 where I ended up inheriting Portugal, Savoy, and Brittany after using all three to bludgeon France into submission.

Laith seems to have forgotten that we can lower a vassal's liberty desire by developping their provinces, it's quite effective.
You can dev your vassal's provinces to lower their loyalty by 5% each time

One thing I noticed after the whole Gascony thing - Is Laith aware that he can dev the provinces of subjects to reduce the liberty desire ? Quite massively in fact ? In that state to declare that war and going into debt just to get some prestige hurt him a lot more than a few simple dev clicks, maybe a single one would have been enough in fact ... Especially since he couldnt do a lot with his mil points for example anyway there
A little known way of lowering vassals liberty desire is by devving their provinces!! It's not the most efficient use of monarch points, but lowers liberty desire by a good amount.

32:34 that's my Granada attempts with Morocco. Got great relations and an alliance then they get -100 relations from an event and want one of the Tlemcen provinces without a claim. Alliance breaks, Castile eats them, and then alliance Austria.

I like how even after Laith looked up the supposedly French pronounciation of Maine, he still didn't say it properly. What the female AI voice in the video said seems more like "Mäne" or "Mene", but Laith kept on calling it "Möne".
But honestly, i fully get it. French might very well be the worst and hardest Romance/Latin-based language.
Looks like burgundy has 5D chessed you, one choice you didn't mention was to build up a navy and conquer Britain though. I'd imagine it's defo doable and prolly a lot easier now.

hey laith have you ever formed malay in eu4? i started as ryukyu and decided to form nusantara instead of japan as it was easier to get into borneo than japan and i culture shifted after realising i had 50% bornean & only 8% ryuku culture.. malay / nusantara has a really nice map colour and some good trade ideas.. i felt they are better than ryukyus.. although if ur trying for the world conquest achievement its probably better to keep ryukyus -25% ae

Just want to point out from you mentioning that the only way to prove iron man is by typing in a command is only partially true. While it does confirm ironman mode is enabled, it is possible to get around iron man mode by running easily accessible scripts to reenable commands while staying in ironman mode and still allowing achievements. Doing this, you can do whatever you want to the game before eventually just closing and reopening it, disabling commands again but keeping whatever changes you made. Not that I think you are doing this, mind (nor would I honestly mind if you were), I just wanted to mention that the error message doesn't always indicate that tampering wasn't done.

talking of france.. my current playthru ive seen england take half of france... i dunno what paradox is doing with the game.. until recently england never used to win against france as ai... ming keeps expanding hugely when it used to always collapse now it hardly ever does, morrocco keeps beating spain & portugal.. mughals form often where it never used to, mamluks beat otto once where it never used to, sweden always does well now where it was rare before, the whole of the hre always gets eaten up quickly where it used to stay mostly opms, this game is quickly becoming more of a fantasy game rather than a historical game
also genoa keeps expanding a lot into tunis quite often now
