In this video titled EU4 A to Z - I LOST MY MIND Trying To Get This HORRIBLE Achievement I play as Norway in Europa Universalis 4 1.36 King of Kings. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Norway and I attempt to get the achievement Let It Go. So, let's see if I managed to do it! I hope you guys enjoy this series. I have done Norwegian Wood during Lions of the North and there is one terrible thing about it you probably forgot about it... it's not about tropical wood as the name suggests but naval supplies (i have realised it halfway into Persia). Ithink one that require tropical wood is Orissa
I remember doing that achievement. You could have moved your capital to greenland right away. I think it counts as an isolated province.
Not quite, since the requirements to move your capital to a colonial region is that your current capital is the only state on that continent. Since Greenland is considered North America and both your current capital and future capital both need to be states, then that’s 2 in the same continent and it’s disallowed

@@karlwittenburg5868 Just did both Norway achievrments two weeks ago, doesn't need to be a colonial region, just Canada, and Greenland is part of Canada. Only need to move to Greenland to get it, so you don't have to worry about isolating your provinces

As novgorod form russia (Veche republic) and do the opposite of what muscuvy did historicly (instead going east, novgorod goes west (conquer scandinavia, baltic, england, polandand north germany), muscuvy plays wide, novgorod plays tall (have the top 5 most dev provincies on ur countrie).
Or do the cursed one were novgorod just like u did whith norway go to the new world not as novgorod but as russia (aka exploit the siberean frontier in the new world)
Or, do that and push through to Siberia via North America and get Kamtchatka as Novgorod.

Also, if you didn't know.. when you shift right click on the money button in a peace deal, it will give you the highest amount of money the AI will accept

Honestly with the influenza event I just take the second option, I am too greedy to part with even one admin point.
If it's an enclave you do it, if you don't spend the admin, it will probably spread to nearby provinces. In some cases it will "never" go away.
I would *NOT* recommend ignoring it if it's a port province surrounded by your home provinces or ones that give you good production value.

Pretty much anything that sounds interesting to me, late antiquity could definitely be explored!

Just rush explo, start a colony, give away all your land to vassals, lose your capital in a war, capital moves to unfinished colony and you have the achievement.

i've never understood the idea of "not having the money to garrison a couple guys in colonial provinces" - especially when you have so few settlers, you're going to spend way more in colonial maintenance from the extra time you spend colonizing than the like half a ducat/month from sending 2-3 guys to stand on the provinces.
You only need more than 1k if the native stack is 4k or so lol.
But he really has an ADD kind of playstyle and I won't blame him...
Having OCPD though I'll never understand how some people play (wasting money, not using opportunities, weird "logics" etc)
Aggressive policy is _always_ best unless you play like France or something and get a bonus to assimilation. There's absolutely no reason for anything else unless you plan on constantly having your entire nation under siege.
Also, culture or religion will never change (perhaps with exceptions of _very_ rare events, with the passive policy) which means once it's completed you'll have even more negative modifiers to it, making everything but the trade good virtually 0 value.
France taking too much land and spawning a coalition in 1452 is one of the most French things I've ever seen in EU4, it's like Napoleon was born 400 years early but just sucked 💀💀💀

Interesting to see how times are changing here, best of luck. As for Novgorod, you could always go for the achievement but that’s too easy. In many Baltic nation guides, particularly the Scandinavian countries, you’re told to vassalize Novgorod and retake their cores. Now as Novgorod you should vassalize Denmark, Norway, and Sweden to show them how it feels.

Algorythm boost! As an added tip: the quarantine event that makes one loose 50 admin can be circumvernted. Well the admin cost can, if you choose to ignore the pandemic, the follow up events will NOT cost 50 admin points.

16:40 if you move your capital to the copper mine, and you got the gold in your capital event. Would the mine increase the gold production?
I feel like it should since the mine just gives local goods produced, no matter what is made there
I havent done it myself, but I've heard that people exploit Lubeck's mission tree to do exactly that.

Theres a crazy way to play as Norway as there's a way to get insane dev cost reduction on mountains. First get the burghers privilege for -50% mountain dev cost penalty and than form Georgia to get the nobles privilege for -35% devcost on mountains with a fort. Now all your mountains are better farmlands with cloth. Really could have been a ridiculous playthrough

I remember playing norway a while back when the lions DLC was new. Liked the mission tree and got them to a decent size, but dropped that run without really achieving much. Never really felt strong due to geing so poor.

Not to mention its colonial situation and outstanding naval/marine capabilities.

@@SebHaarfagre Yeah, you're also in a position to get all the Mexican gold before anyone else can get there and ALSO win the race for the Cape; player Norway can basically out-colonize the Iberians all alone. It's true enough that you will be poor and weak in the early game but that can be remedied.
Novgorod was a republic. And the best kind of Republic is a Pirate Republic. Find a way to turn yourself into a Pirate Republic :)
(One option I can think of is conquer Gotland, the Aland Islands, and/or Rugen , move your capital there, then give away all your mainland land and go privateering)
Sjaelland is also an eligible province to become a Pirate if you feel like fighting Denmark.
That influenza event I swear it just doesn't matter which option you pick, so I just pick the bottom one that doesnt lose points

bro i feel like events are bugged in this new patch or something and negative ones pop up way more with you mentioning you got the minus 50 adm one 6 times by 1465. In my recent campaign I got 6 minus stab ones by 1480.

you could also just release a vassal like sapmi and iceland and give them all your land apart from akershus your capital, and since then that makes your capital isolated you can move it to canada without getting south georgia. I did that in my norway run.

As Novgorod I think you should end the Aristocracy (at least just beat up the most authoritarian great powers such as Muscovy, France, and Austria), ally Venice, and finally rescue Athens and return it to the people

Wouldn't Bermuda be easier for the switcheroo, or have they changed something?
Bermuda is in the North American continent, meaning that if he moved his capital there, he wouldn't be able to move it to Canada right after that. So he would've had to move his capital to South America first then, and then only move it to Canada
@@Patches2212 ah so that is a another chance I wasn't aware of. The "give everything away first" strat seems easier now in that case. Could have given everything away first and moved directly from Oslo to Canada?

Would've been a lot less painful just to colonize four tiles in Canada, make Sapmi a vassal and then give them most of the coast before declaring on Sweden and giving them the Norwegian heartlands
Norwegian Wood really isn't that hard. Given I have about 4000h but you can just "cherry pick" the provinces.
Also you gave me a heart attack thinking I misread something (I didn't); you need all *NAVAL SUPPLY* provinces. _Not_ Tropical Wood.
I'm about to finish this in the 1700's as Norse Norway (I even got the Ivory in Greenland) and it was tons of fun.
If you want to do it too (become Norse), beware that rebel hopping may take a while and also that having a lot of the British Isles (which I had) might not be the best idea (rebels can't decide where to go properly, and allies - or neutrals or enemies - may kill them for you).
Well, until petrol is discovered, Norway sure had to be poor...

Pretty sure you didn't need to go all the way to South Georgia. Panama works just as well as a stepping stone, since it isn't in the Caribbean colonial region.
I did this one by colonizing in Canada, giving all of Scandinavia minus Akershus to Sapmi, moving my capital, and then giving away Akershus. Way faster.
As Novogrod try to play tall, and join HRE and become free city.
Unless they changed it, I was able to move my capital to Greenland and then to Canada from there to get this achievement.
Or maybe I didn't have to move it again from Greenland since it was in the Canada node? Can't remember exactly, It's been a while.

No because it's North America like Canada and when you change your capital to a colonial region you need to change continent. That's why it works with south georgia because it's south america so you change continent.
A less painful way is to colonize a province in Africa make it the capital and then go to Canada because you change continent

not sure who told you to move capital to an island near south america, but that's a huge mistake. There is plenty of other closer places and opportunities to move capital to a new world .
Hope this won't upset, but Greenland is a part of Canada region, so there is no need to colonize South Georgia. Meanwhile, achievement requests for capital in Canada region, but not colonial region, so tranfer capital to Greenland can be counted as success.
