My brother really loves playing Gotland in EU4 and he wants to see you play them.
If you do I will join our channel and I also want to subscribe to your Patreon just cause me and him love your content.
Cheers,

Love how you always mention a bit of the history of the country you are playing. Its always intresting.
One of the best things about Ludi videos
Ludi, please add links to your subsequent episodes in your first episode.
Seeing Ludi get sponsored by Supercell is really unordinary satisfying thing to watch!
ngl I been playing clash of clans since before I had this channel xD
@@LudietHistoria ngl indeed
@@LudietHistoria Haven’t we all Romanian brother, haven’t we all.
@@LudietHistoria Who hasn't?
@@thedrugdealerinthehomedepot I've never played Clash.
I loved the historical background intro, so cool
glad you liked it brother
We want Ludi’s history class Channel
@@LudietHistoria It would be fun if you randomly made up historical stories and see if any of the viewers catches on lol.
Ludi, I think you should include more history stuff. Its interesting hearing about the setting (1444) in particular
game starts the day after the battle of Varna (which was the battle that ended by the defeat of the crusaders army)
Ludi, I just want to say how much I appreciate you and the work you do here on youtube and on twitch. You re-ignite the love for this game in me.
I appreciate the kind words bro, thank you sooo so much for watching my videos and for being a part of this little community we have!
Wish he wouldn't do the accents
@@stevepickford3004 It's all in fun
@@12354rony really? Look at his moustache.
@@stevepickford3004 It's a Romanian one, not an Austrian so we're all good here
ludi please never change with the funny accents and random language switches, it‘s too hilarious! also love the history facts
It is actually WAY easier to try and get the Naples mission before they go indepedent. Getting the CORES means you can annex the whole thing for trivial AE and no problem keeping Aragon under 50% liberty desire. Also means you can culture switch to Neapolitan early and form Two Sicilies after you are done with the Provence mission tree. And when you are done with the Two Sicilies tree, culture switch to Piedmontese and form Sardinia-Piedmont and do their missions. Then form France or Italy and do those missions. Provence is one crazy start.
Agree. Getting the cores is far better than the PU.
I live in Avignon, so I'm happy to see this and ludi's accent was perfect. Feel like home !
I am 69% occitaine and 420% tomato
Loving the extra history in this one.
I’ve been playing EU4 for years but only recently started watching your channel. I have learned so much in the last 6 weeks that I would never have without your amazing content.
Keep up the good work and thank you, Ludi
Hey man just wanted to say that you're right with the sarcasm about landlords and the vassal system...damn near feels like it.
Also I want to echo what others say about adding in some more history to the beginning of your videos. I took a bunch of late medieval to 20th century history in college and enjoy thst stuff.
Glad I subscribed to your videos a few months ago, as I almost decided I didn't want to play this game anymore but now I am enjoying stuff more more after viewing your vids
As expected another great video, tho id like to point out one major mistake: your mission for Naples doesnt give you permanent claims if Naples is under PU, it gives you cores which is much better than taking Naples as PU imo.
quick tip if u want napels u get core on the teretory wich gives u more land ez in a save position. still love ludi his guids helped me get 1k hours in this game and still love it XD
I am so happy that you upload more EU4 stuff again :) Thanks!
Arnold reminded me of the general I got yesterday... 6 shock, 5 fire, 0 maneuver, 0 siege. He was slow but using a smaller stack with a quick general to slow down enemies was good. It was almost always a stackwipe. :D
Every time I see a Ludi upload I know it's going to be a good day.
Just checked youtube and found another Ludi video. What a great timing, sir!
Hope you enjoyed it!
@@LudietHistoria The man himself. Yes, always enjoy your videos. Especially the historical facts, like the Paradox mind game with the duchy of Anjou.
No Ludi, the King of Naples mission, if completed while Naples is a subject, gives CORES on Naples the claims are on Corsica and Sardinia. 4:39
Thanks!
Rob brother thank you so much man! Means a lot bro really thank you
Thanks for all the great vids Ludi. I am thankfull for all the joy and entertainment your bring us and wish you all the best in your personal life! 🍀🍀🍀
Thank you so much!
TBF: I only watch you, since you say words like Snapple Doop, Stacken Wipeneken and do the funny accents. I stopped playing Paradox games 3 years ago, but I still watch your vids. They are just entertaining for me.
awww thanks for watching my vids brother, means a lot!
10:52 I highly suggest getting mil access from france before declaring on england and moving some troops into their lands. you will NOT get black flagged if you're in allies land if you declare war and that way you can get on all the english land before france
thats not a bad idea but they dont give you access brother, not by 11 dec they dont, u need to wait for 2 months and I'm not a patient man
As a Provence player,I would simply retake the core province of Main from the English before give every single core on English-held Normandy & Gascony to France through the "promise of land". This is so that I have enough favours to ask France to give back the two core provinces of Lyonnais & Dauphine to Provence.
But I want to hear Your opinion of this "strategy" I made
If you can boost relations with Austria while fighting England in the first war, you can definitely ally then and even join HRE after the war. Move capital to AIX or something to be next to the HRE and it would be around 190 relationship which won't be hard to get with alliance, royal marriage and insulting a rival!
Oh man this looks like a fun playthrough. I can't wait for Ludi to play another nation that begins with the letter P
Anyone who plays any nation in the Philippine archipelago is a gigachad. A naval playthrough is really a pain in the ass.
Ludi you get CORES on Naples not perma-claims if Naples is a junior member of a PU and you click the mission.
The cores are much better than a PU as you can full annex Naples in one war and instantly full core the territory, accept the culture and reduce autonomy to a lower autonomy than normal along with lower AE. Arragon often declares a restoration war in the current patch (as happened to you) allowing you to reliably get the cores after dealing with the English.
Loving for the sake loving, and because you make great content!
Great video! Love you Ludi :D
You're the best!
People who hates your non-existent German accent is just vocal minority. Your view and subscriber counts speak for itself. Be yourself and stay strong brother.
Love the historical intro!
That fish in the intro was extremely important to our history as a fish today
12:14 - Portugal just couldn't wait until the patch to have some blue.
14:39 Yes, it is true. The best player is the one who can overcome different situations, no matter how hard they are.
Although I am more a fan of restarting during the age of discovery because there are some starts that are actually easier.
For example, Castile and France are the starting rivalries. France may have a chance to attack Castile, which might be tough for new players. However, when they are friends, Castile and France could beat the crap of Eastern countries.
At the end of the day, it's whatever you prefer; just today I started an Ethiopia game, playing MP with a friend. The absolute chad starting leader you get died from a random event a year into the game and I just said "fuck it mate, we're restarting that one, that's bullshit" and off we went. Could I still have done fine with the worse ruler and huge stab hit? Sure. Would it have been more enjoyable than just restarting quickly and getting back to the game? Yup.
@@AGrumpyPanda The moment I start to restart some of the games is the Burgundian game. Philip the good in history died in 1467. However, in my first single game, he died in 1449 which is before the renaissance. How come a ruler who bring prosperity died that early?
In that game, I play him until 1455, but still earlier than history.
Didn't René reside mostly in Provence? Especially in Aix.
But I appreciate the fact that you talked about how national states were not a thing in the early modern era. It's hard to talk about national states before the French Revolution.
he did actually reside a big chunk of his life in Aix, you are correct!
@@LudietHistoria so......... are you telling us he did not speak the way you speak in this video?!? 😮
Aix-en-Provence is indeed worth a visit! Beautiful city. And while you are there, visit all the other beautiful places in Provence: Avignon, Les Baux-de-Provence, Pont-du-Gard (not Provence, but right next to it), Cassis, the Calanques National Park, Marseille (not so much, just kidding!) and the other small towns along the Côte d'Azur. Best time to visit is March-May and August-October, unless you like it 35°C+.
14:03 chad ludi "no restarts"
Its better to unlock the first mission while Naples is still in a PU because you get CORES not permanent claims from it that way
I showed that path in my last Provence video, it is ofc really good but you need 2 wars to get Aragon PU since it's above 100% warscore to get all of Naples and Aragon will fall in a PU with Castile by that point
Ludi said "ignore my laugh at 15:00" 😂
I always apprecitae some historical context. Thanks!
Ps. pet peeve of mine: Caen is pronounced more like Kaun. Not Cayenne =). 'aen' in Caen sounds like the aun in auntie (U.K. pronunciation)
3:20 not only it wasn't about countries or nationalities, these terms haven't even existed 'till very recently.
Nobody would really call themselves "Napolitan" or "Castilian" or "English" before the 19th century.
Peasants and other poor people were just "from a village", if (which didn't really happen much) someone asked them where they are from, they would just answer "oh, I'm from village X"/"I'm from Lord's X's keep"/"I serve under XXX".
Clergy were just "Bishop/Archbishop/Patriarch/Priest of X".
Lower nobles were just "Baronet/Baron/Knight/ of X"
And everybody higher was known pretty much wherever they went, because:
1) despite what media portray, they were such a small percent of population that there were so little counts in your proximity that if you saw one, it'd be comparable to meeting president of your country or a very famous actor today, you just don't forget it. And that's for counts, if you met a duke, he was so powerful and rich compared to you it'd be like meeting Elon Musk or the dictator of China
2) they always traveled with a huge amount of servants and always flew some sort of sigil, coat of arms, or other heraldic bearing, and, again, there were so little of them that you knew pretty much every one, that was in a resonable distance (which wasn't much before trains were invented) and, if you traveled further, you were already rich and educated so you knew even more.
Strange how we take terms like nationality as a granted in today's society, almost as if it was something obvious that was encoded in us like eye color or nose size, hell, we've even started wars and killed milions because of it
8:15 I am always happy when you disinherit the trash ruler.
maybe a tall burgundy into lotharingia or maybe a tall lowlands guide?
good ideas!
Amazing video Ludi, you always make my day everytime you say: "snappledupe" ❤️❤️
Awesome video ludi, as always buddy
Glad you enjoyed it bro
Love You Ludi, as always!
You're the best!
I love him more
Love it! Provence is a go for me next game
Just played a Province campaign myself. Literally had Castille Snipe the Naples Union while I was fighting Venice to gain access. Luckily beat Castille and forced them to release Naples. Though strange I couldn't just take the PU in the peace deal.
I figured it out. You know how if Naples is independent when you do the Claims of Rene mission you get a a PU mission and if they’re a subject you get cores?
Same applies if Provence is a subject. If Provence is your subject, they get cores once you pass the King Rene requirements. That means any player who vassalizes them can use this strategy to gobble up Naples using cores. I had no idea but imo it makes them one of the best vassals in the game.
I am a simple man. I see Provence video I click. After all it is my favorite nation in EU4 to play.
Ludi leading a new cultural revolution in that intro
Personal note: whenever I have played Provence, I have improved relations with Burgundy and eventually allied them to get the inheritance. Works quite often, even if they rival you at the start
Good video bro
I’m glad you don’t fake it for the camera, keep the funny words coming boss
si senor
Ludi, all you need to do is get mil access to France. Leave 2 units in Anjou, move the rest of your army to Chatres. When you declare war, you can easily siege down all of Normandy.
You cant get mil access without cheats from France on day 1 since you start with hostile relations and need 1 month at least before they change to friendly/ally relations. You can do what you said after that or if france for some reason doesnt start hostile ofc, and I agree, its a good idea, but it depends on your start and how fast u wanna do the war
@@LudietHistoria Yes. I just wait til December 30th instead of December 11th. England 9x/10 doesn't get any other allies except Irish minors.
4:38 Its not perma claims its even cores. Thats why its great to fullfill this mission before the aragonese king dies. Then you can full annex Naples for almost no AE which is a huge jump in power for Provence if you accept the culture. Far better than a PU. This even allowed me to sell the lands in Lorraine to Burgundy without much issues so i could keep the alliance with them for the inheritance.
100% worth to restart for this if the aragonese king dies too early.
I currently have to work more to pay my rent, than a feudal serf had to work for his manorlord. I spend more effort on a place to live than an indentured serf... it sucks. (serfs in feudal England often had a prescribed number of days that they had to work for a lord, I have no prescribed number of days, but the number of days of work it takes me to get the prescribed amount of rent, is greater than the average number of days per year that a serf had to work for their lord... I'm too lazy to look up the numbers atm...)
LUDI GOT THE COC SPONSOR!!!! congrats bro

Glad you enjoyed!
"But I digress" he said, as he digressed further away into a sponsorship.
(I think it is great that you are able to support yourself through sponsorships, just thought it was a funny segue.)
Could be fun to see an entire runthrough of a nation/guide. From 1444-1820. A very long guide I know, but still.
Nice painting of Jeroen Bosch
I keep wondering how can anyone hates Ludi? Dude’s such a charismatic, funny and smart fellow! (also a good EU4 player)
Historic intros kick arse!
again amazing video
Thank you so much 😀
Ever roleplay as a good boi that actually give land when promise land, actually help out in defensive wars? :)
Good video, Ludi !
But It can be cool if you do a little bit more roleplay when you play eu 4. It can add fun to your video because by just playing the meta, you just destroy the game.
And I think I just understand the Ludi economy in eu 4 : Take a loan to conquer to take a bigger loan and always snowball like that.
Thanks for the idea might do it bro!
If anyone playing EU4 gets bored with the game, they aren't watching Ludi content! Thanks
love you brother, thanks for supporting me since I started, it really means the world!

Love playing this nation in small mp games with freinds especially if they don't know it misson tree always funny
Thanks Ludi
Schnapeldoopel is what they say in Romania, when they steal your wallet :)
Let's go, Ludi! Do not let trolls dictate you your style! Otherwise, we''ll be left with only romanian jokes on this chanel and that's just not rich enough for me!
Believe it or not Provence always was with op missions
Ludi's way of explaining Feudalism in terms of Big Cheese made me realize how lacking the historical literature is in terms of Big Cheese analysis.
yes
I totally believe Ludi when he says he doesn't reload. Why? Well think about it. He's insane. (and so is everyone who plays this game) He sits there all day, basically talking to himself, in different accents, while he attempts the ridiculous amount of achievements for our amusement.
Video 96 of asking for a releasable Nitra tutorial.
Ludi I played an Austria game where I used the Excommunication CB to subjugate Provence through my border with Lorraine. Halfway through integrating them, I realize they have cores on all of Naples. Not permanent claims. Cores. The Papal States were in the middle of taking half of Naples in a war, so they had no allies. I full annex the half of Naples that's left, take the rest from the Papal states. 15 agressive expansion combined.
How does Provence get cores on Naples?
If naples is not free when you click the mission, ie in a personal union under someone else, you get cores instead of personal union. So this is all about what you prioritize, do you want a vassal who develops his own provinces for a while whilst contributing a minute amount of troops to your conquests or do you want to hold the lands directly immediately needing to culture convert them/accept their culture this early to get the most out of them. I have found that the personal union is the optimal play for me that early in the campaign
@ABCZ ZC that’s awesome. Why don’t more people try to vassalize Provence? You can check if they have the cores.
@@blackfang101 I figured out that the same thing happens if Provence isn’t free. If Provence is a subject they get the cores on Naples.
This video made me want to play Provence it looks cool
This looks to be shaping up to be quite the playthrough despite the whole situation with Aragon
Ludi, forget about those haters. You got a successful youtube channel and a kawaii waifu. Those who talk shit are just sore losers.
A request though: is there a succint but comprehensive guide on battles?
Ludi, become Alexander the Great. No losses or anything
Good video keep op the good work
What I would (and will, when I play provence later on) is to call the french one or two months after I started the war... If you have scotland, The English will focus on them anyway... That way you can guarantee that you siege all provinces you need.
Love me some Ludi comment. I should go on those forums and talk about how much I LOVE me some Ludi videos just for the sake of LOVE
You can hear the pronunciation of many city names on wikipedia, for Caen the page is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caen look for the "listen" link in the first line.
Come on people get this to 8k likes. I wanna see more of this campaign!
Ludi, you're not only an amazing player, as well as fun to watch. Let haters hate! 😅
Would've been an insane england start with neither france or burgundy rivaling them
LOVE little landlord limmerics 😂
It takes a special kind of Ludi to criticize modern capitalism and slapping a Clash of Clans sponsorship into the video right after that
As a German I love when you speak that cursed german
Ludi screw the haters you’re funny as hell and your strategies helped me stop sucking at this game. Don’t even look at that crap the internet is full of these crotch gremlins. Please make more videos like these in the future. Need more “but ludi you said” in my life it’s hilarious
Lore of Provence Just Got INSANELY FUN in EU4 1.34 Momentum 100
i dont have the "brethren of the faith" +25 modifier relation with france. Can't find anywhere how to get it, without it france istantly drops the alliance. WHAT TO DO?
buy dirt people. It's so important. Buy dirt, if you have enough left over, put a house on it.
Feudalism was slavery. It wasn't 'renting.' It wasn't 'owning land.' It was owning people.
This game looks pretty fun, I just recently found out about it. Is it worth the $40, or should I wait for a sale to get it?
i recommend waiting for a sale brother, one might come soon!
@@LudietHistoria I hope so! I’d love to play it as I love nation-building and strategy games, but $40 at almost 10 years old does seem a bit much, especially considering nearly a decade’s worth of DLC.
As a german i have to say that i love your german dialect🤝
Based modern feudalism commentary. Yeah, my landlord isn't that powerful..... YET! Also loved the inclusion of some history!
Improving relations with the French by 2 ticks is enough to make them not break the alliance, you dont have to scornfully insult their rival
it's not actually, you need 100 relations by december, otherwise they cancel the alliance
