      Im considering it since my 65” living room x900h doesn’t do VRR with killing the brightness levels. Only concern is using this for work as well since I use a real monitor for work purposes.

    I remember the days that a 42inch TV was considered huge, heck I remember when a 32 was considered huge, with that being said it is better suited as a monitor or maybe a small dorm type room.

    • @SpawnPoiint
      @SpawnPoiint  2 ปีที่แล้ว +48

      Totally agree and remember the same. 32” was THE size to buy, and 40” was considered a ‘big screen’. Now look at us 😂

    • @karlsavage7495
      @karlsavage7495 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It always amazes me how quickly you acclimatise to whatever size you have. Having had a 65" for some time now, it no longer feels that 'big' to my eyes (I sit about six feet away). In fact, I now regret not going bigger when I swapped my Sony LCD for the C1; I stayed at the same size, which doesn't feel as much of an upgrade (tbh, I've been somewhat underwhelmed by the OLED but that's another story...).

    • @Pendragoongp
      @Pendragoongp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought a 70" in 2011, and yeah, you get used to the size so quickly. I still haven't upgraded because nothing really screams a must upgrade yet. The QD OLED from Samsung is close, but too small for now.

      can LG C2 42" do a split screen? For example, Hook up a laptop and pc to different HDMI and display at the same time.

    Just bought this to replace my 48CX. Actually it seems really small at first :D but I'm pretty confident that the size is perfect for a gaming monitor. I also like that you can see the pixels a lot less than on the CX because this 42C2 can also be moved further back on a desk, and of course it has higher PPI per se.

Idk what you’re talking about with warzone, cuz on PS5 on my C1 with DTM on running at 120, it looks breathtaking and anything but washed out 😂

Sit back on that Herman Miller with a cold beer and enjoy. HDRI is 90% great, but won't push you something overly bright like direct sun, direct flashlight. Artificial lights look stunning, metal looks like real metal, daylight sky and windows look convincing, night scenes look superb, fire and explosions, look great. But not those overly bright spots - you won't get it with C2, only with G2-G3 I guess (C2 peak brightness is 800 nits, and G3 is 1400).
      But I keep C2, because it's 42 inches (and I use it with PC), and it's 2 times cheaper. It gets me 90% of experience I want, just not that umph extra HDR I would dream of in some occasions. It's still pretty bright HDR experience, mind you, if not to look at those nuances. It's night and day compared to IPS or VA, so get it for that 90% of new visual era, it's worth it

    I'd like to see this tested on PC with 120Hz at 12-bit colour in Game Optimiser mode with Boost mode enabled. Because this will be the most common settings for PC use.
    Some things to test would be:
    How annoying is the ABL in both light and dark modes on the Windows 10/11 desktop.
    Response time.
    VRR.
    Response time with and without VRR (it adds a single frame delay).
    What TV settings are still available when Game Optimiser + Boost is enabled.
    Does the TV wake up from PC sleep or power on.
    Does it handle a wide range of resolutions well.
    Does the 12-bit colour make much difference over 10-bit (like on gradients/colour banding).
    How is the SDR brightness level in these modes (apparently it's not great but is it acceptable).
    Colour accuracy after proper calibration (if you have the tools).

    I think that this C2 OLED is optimal for deep desks and for PS5 / XBSX.
    If you have a smaller desk and a PC along with your next gen consoles the 27GP950 monitor is just the perfect choise, especially if you play fps games thanks to the 160hz + smaller screen your eyes have to check.
    Those 42” in a small desk setup are just too much.

    C2 OLED, I already own one of these and it's awesome.
    The only thing that I don't like is it auto dims when there is little screen activity going on regardless of any settings set.
    No doubt it's to prevent screen burn in, never the less it's annoying as the brightness drops off a fair bit until it detects some desktop movement, then the brightness ramps back again.
    Hence it's not so great for doing office type work like emails and word documents, but it is a fine gaming screen / anything with a high amount of motion.

      Well, at least here it's not as aggressive as I expected after reading user reviews. It does dim when a big portion of the screen is white, but only in desktop mode. And I think it's great, as it' would be too bright for such a huge panel. You don't want a 800+ nits flash stun in CS, it will hurt.
