I just got this tv yesterday and it’s beautiful! My first oled and what a difference in blacks and contrast 😍normally I unplug all my devices from the wall for no stand-by but you CANT do this with a oled tv (pixel refresh) or something.I bought this especially for gaming and boy it doesn’t disappoint so fast ! For movies you will fall in love ! Don’t think but buy it you thank me later.
Just purchased it today!!! 3/4 gaming and 1/4 for movies. Seeing up rn. I have literally returned 3 other tvs in past 2 weeks! Just couldn't get them to look right. Hopefully this one impresses!
Regarding screen size. I bought a Dell 32" monitor. It's fantastic. As a software developer, it's the best productivity booster I ever bought outside of a laptop/computer. It makes doing anything on your computer so much better. The only drawback is that I should have bought the 42" version instead. So my advice to you, if you're on the fence between two different size monitors, go with the larger monitor. Provided, of course, it fits.
I have 2 32" monitors. One monitor doesn't have the screen real estate I require. And 2 42" monitors won't fit on my Argosy HALO.K88 Plus recording console workstation.
@@bernardogalvao4448 what do you plan on doing with it? For me, I would not get 21:9 monitor. I don't like the loss of verticality when developing software. Furthermore, most monitors with that dimension have less pixels than a standard 4k monitor. You pay more to display less information. The "4k" only refers to the number of pixels in the horizontal dimension. To get the 21:9 ratio, they basically chop off some vertical pixels. So if you are on the fence, I'd go with a standard 4k dimension and see of there is one at 34" size.
If this was available in a 32 inch screen size, I'd seriously consider it. I find if I have too big of a screen too close to my face, my game play is actually worse. For a desk, a 42 inch screen is too close. I know once I had my old 55 inch TV about four feet away from me and it was not a good experience. Things improved a lot when I was six feet away.
Some of the reviews for this don't make sense. This th-cam.com/users/postUgkxUGaHtKW8MwCql2fPyIm9-ftTqSMzKFFA works as well as any power strip I've used. Plug in what you need, be sensible about it & keep it movin' The construction is plastic but it's a sturdy piece. It has a single toggle switch & the swivel jacks are useful as well. Plugged in next to Tripp Lite Isobar takes some of these reviews with a pinch of sumthin' - does what it says & functions properly.Had for about a month. Perfect no complaints will update if anything changes.
I remember trying out a 48" CX, and it was just too big for anything but gaming. I really didn't like having to dart my eyes constantly all over the screen to read, edit, etc. Ended up with an Alienware 38" UW, and am satisfied with it. But I could see down the line taking a fresh look at this slightly smaller 42" OLED. I love LG's TVs, so this might be the perfect future setup.
No issues for me as I have been using the B8 since Black Friday 2018. I just use it as a dual or quad monitor setup but without the bezels breaking up the image. The TV of my parents is starting to fail though, so I am thinking of upgrading to a C2 55" soon myself. To each their own though... but moving your eyes and neck during long sessions behind the computer will minimize strain vatigue (e.g. dry eyes and stiff necks).
Great work man. I'm from the small kingdom of Eswatini in Africa & I follow your content religiously, I must say that even today I'm amazed that you create such beautiful content with just an iPhone.
The question that I have about these setups is in webcam placement. Putting the camera above a screen that big would essentially mean the camera is above me during calls, streaming, etc...
A 4k screen at that size means you really shouldn't be using full screen for everything. I laugh when people complain that it's still too big when they're stuck with old habits of full-screening everything such as web browser. Just because that was the way of life for tiny 27" monitor doesn't mean you should do this on a 42" display.
I picked this up last week and there is now a reliable solution to get 4k120 4:4:4 10bit from an M1 mac. There's an anker usb-c to hdmi 2.1 that will allow you to do this with a modifiied firmware loaded onto the adapter that can be found on a macrumors thread.
For $100 more, I’ll take the 48” C2. I have a 43” Vizio mounted on the wall in front of my desk and the distance isn’t bad. I can always mount the 48” C2 and pull the desk back a little bit further.

@@draco2xx as a monitor for gaming do you find it too big? i am struggling to find something for immersive gaming in the 4k range. but im not sure if this is too big for pc.
Nice. I've been using a Samsung 40" 4K TV as a monitor for years, I tend to describe it as like an ultrawide but with more vertical room. Can have docs or code in a tall thin window but most apps I run at a similar size/res to a 15" 1080p screen - you just don't need to fullscreen any apps. I tend to use similar space overall to an ultrawide much of the time but can have apps higher or lower rather than using a height adjust on the screen itself. This looks perfect as an upgrade at some point.
Been watching so many videos about using this as a monitor and looking for one where they actually provide their desk dimensions for context. Thank you!
As someone getting ready to update my living room (FINALLY)....the fact your desk "monitor" is bigger than my TV for my living room is hilarious. I personally, however, prefer a 30" monitor and what soon will be a 50 or 55" TV
You must have a small living room or something. I have a 55 in my bedroom. How far away do you sit from your tv? If it’s like 10 feet, get a 55 or around there for sure.
@@DarthSpecky I have a 48” and sit around 6-6.5 feet from it (got a small living room area) and I can’t for the love of god understand how some people can use this as a monitor, lol.

@@chestermoney3 0 burn in issue. Linus always uses his monitor with his PC, displaying same UI elements and splitting his windows always in 4 with separating frames that are probably marking the display. I use it with my work laptop to lead my projects, my personal macbook to develop apps and my gaming pc to... game. It rarely displays the same UI all day long.
@@Vilmir… fair enough! I use a lot of static information quite regularly, but I also game for an hour a day. I wonder if gaming will be enough to reduce burn in..
@@chestermoney3 Just turn the brightness down for productivity. I purposefully induced burn in on my 48CX by keeping my task bar up and regularly using test patterns to look for changes in pixel uniformity. I wanted to know what it would take, so I knew how to avoid it and figured the task bar was a good way to run that experiment since it was on the bottom of the screen where it wouldn't be noticeable, and I could just easily hide the task to prevent further degradation. I estimate I probably had the task bar up for around 3500 hours at 50% brightness before I was able to spot a difference. Thats the equivalent of having the same static elements displayed 8 hours a day for 1.2 years. And it is only barely visible and only during test patterns. Who knows how long it would take for it to actually become problematic. Not to mention it is only where the icons that used brightly saturated colors were located. Linus got burn in because he doesn't care about burn in. If you are remotely careful it is probably not something you need to worry about. Just don't crank the brightness any higher than you need to for productivity and if you have the same static elements constantly on screen all day every day, figure out a way to move or shift them once in a blue moon. IE rearrange window locations, resize windows (easily done with fancyzones) etc. I have since used the 48CX another 4000 hours with no further signs of pixel degradation. Because as long as you are remotely conscious about it, it is actually quite difficult to achieve. Or you could just do what I did and buy a 5 year warranty that covers burn in. As I am extremely heavy user that uses his monitor 12+ hours a day, mostly for productivity, and didn't know what to expect regarding burn-in. But knowing what I know now, I regret paying for it and won't bother buying a burn in warranty with any future OLED monitor purchase. But all future monitor purchases will definitely be OLED.
I got one of these about a month ago (48 Inch) and I cant even put into words how good it looks for gaming. I don't even have a PS5 yet I'm still on PS4 but even so, RDR2 looks absolutely outstanding on this TV - like mind bogglingly good.
Wishlist for this 42 Oled: - No "Game mode" switch - No automatic dimming - White surface should be white and not blue - less glossy surface The Alienware AW3423dw handles al of that way better but its to small and not 4k

Been using a 40" Samsung LED for about 5 years now as my main monitor, looking at this LG OLED now but still worried about burn in, I'm a programmer during the day, gamer at night so I'm going to have static images for a long time during the day.
2 questions for anyone here: 1. Can you play games at 120Hz on this via PC? I mean can you hook it up to a 3080 Nvidia, and use it at 120Hz with 120fps for gaming? 2. When you watch media/movies on TH-cam or via media player, will that dimming thing come into effect? Will the monitor/tv know you're watching media and not dim the screen? Seems important, I think he answered the 1st question pretty well, as in YES, but I was going to buy this and that second question is in my mind now, as the TV may not lower brightness while watching TV, I'm not sure during watching PC media.
1. Yes you can. I do it with an RX 6800 XT. 2. It won’t happen during video because the scene is constantly changing. It only happens when static content is on the screen for too long, like a window just sitting there or what have you. But in games and movies and whatnot, it’s never happened to me. It can only happen in a video if that video is a still image that stays still for an extended period of time.
@Anas Zerrouki according to HDTV test channel it can happen during a video at least when he was streaming a show. Which is why he turns off the ABL. Unfortunately this voids the warranty which is bs.
I can definitely see this finally being the OLED that makes sense for me. The full 4K for games and then use it as 21:9 for work (3840 x 1600). It's about 5 inches wider and 7 inches taller than my current 34" 1440p with very similar PPI. Too bad the MBP doesn't have hdmi 2.1, but 120Hz isn't that big of a deal for working. The only thing I'm worried about is the ABL
@@rilez2106 Yes but they added better protection for it because it is built as a monitor not a tv. As a tv they know there is less static images. Reviewers who had the c1 as a monitor had burn in eventually but then they turned around and complained about the extra measure they put in for the monitor. You can get the Aorus monitor on sale now because of the negative reviews.
I use a 32" 4K monitor for general use and work! I usually sit more or less the same like in the video. He says that 32" would be perfect for gaming like warzone but I disagree. It is too big. 24 to 27 inch is the perfect size as you don't have to sit a mile away and in the center of your vision you can see the whole screen meaning that you can spot enemies faster. You don't have to strain your eyes using your peripheral vision which is something really important while gaming for a long time. Work + entertainment 32" or more if you like it. Gaming -- no ultra wide, just a simple fast screen around 27" or lower.
I am still happy with my LG C8 in the gaming room so far. Has a Series S on it for guests to play Halo Infinite or Destiny 2. Downstairs rocking a 77inch GX atm and still perfect. I skipped the C/G1 because I don't liked the WebOS version with the full screen stuff. Will just keep on using these TV's until they burn in or get damaged. C8 is being gamed on like every day and sometimes 8/12 hours a day (weekends) and still performing perfect after all these years. Great content btw :D
Curious to see if they continue to shrink the panel sizes. A big opportunity is there. Personally just bought a LG C1 to replace my x900h. Calibrated and looks fantastic with my Series X and PS5.
They probably will but not in the near future. Production yields are not that high yet for OLED panels, and the rising price of raw materials right now isn't helping.
Was hoping someone might have transcribed the picture settings and stuck them in the comments.. Oh well. Another great vid mate; always enjoy your TV once-overs.
DAY 2 with a New 42" CORSAIR i-7400 Intel 13,900K 4090 GPU, and my NEW LG C2 42". I was excited to see the C2 in action, and this looks AWESOME if you watch a 4 K video on you tube that has vivid colors. Prior to using this as a monitor, I used as a TV for 1 month and had my x-box connected and it was nice. NOW that it's a Monitor, this is my MAIN GRIPE ( YES I turned off ALL the auto dimming that you can with Serv Remote) I got mine from Costco, so maybe they do something so people don't return them after 2 years. I did all the main calibration videos you probably did too, and running Windows HDR, which makes screen brighter in general. Any White screen looks so dim and dull. Like RIGHT NOW, typing this comment in YT, the background of the YT screen is white, but it is not crisp, it's dark and looks almost GREY and it really annoys me, and I MAY have to return it? I am going to give it some time first. Gaming it's sweet, but it is NOT SUPER Bright for regular PC use. I do use my PC for non-gaming too. I hooked up My 10-year-old LG 1080P monitor side by side to compare and the LG looked like it was in power save mode and if you didn't what you were looking at you'd say that looks like S#$%^&. Again, JUST for larger WHITE areas. Same with Google searches (with white background). I changed to black and the white looks fine. If I COULD get a 4K Monitor that looked this good, BUT ALSO LOOKED good and had a nice white BR, I would spend more $$ to buy it, but I have no idea what would be BETTER than this? I could get used to this, but right now as I type it is so DIM compared to my old monitor that I shouldn't have to MAKE MYSELF Try to like it. That is my real opinion so far.
Dear spawnpoiint , i watched your earlier videos of the monitor lg gp950b , do you think that this tv/monitor is better or not worth the change ? because i bought the lg gp950b because of your great video :)
Great review on the C2. I’m hoping for manufacturers to bring this years TV quicker to other region. By the way, have you though of comparing this TV with this year Sony 42A90K sometime in future?
Love your content man, your voice is super relaxing and your pacing of the videos is spot on for my liking 👏 Let me know when you're done with the C2 and I'll get it back to the guys who loaned it to you!
Thanks for looking at some of the things i mentioned on your previous video! Shame you couldn't do 4K @ 120Hz. As far as i know a PC with a RTX 3xxx/RX 6xxx GPU is the only thing that can do that with 12-bit 4:4:4 colour. XSX is limited to 10-bit 4:4:4 at 4K 120Hz, and PS5 is limited to just 8-bit 4:2:2... oof. Consoles don't have the full HDMI 2.1 bandwidth. BTW, LG have said the 42" will be using the new EX panel later this year. The 42" currently has an older WBC panel which is why there's no pink-ish tint at off angles on the whites, like on the new EX panels. But EX has longer life span and is less susceptible to burn-in (and can go brighter in HDR). So if anyone specifically plans on using a 42" as a PC monitor, it might be better to wait if you're worried about burn-in. The 48" and up all use EX.
@@mujtabamujeeb786 Personally i'd wait. I know the 42" EX panels were already being manufactured for a few months now so you shouldn't have to wait long, but it's hard to say when you will be guaranteed to get an EX panel. Some places have old stock for ages.
@@Crusty_Minge dang ahh! Another thing I’m bummed out about the dimming using Microsoft word and such. I have a 3090 ti so for gaming it would be good but for productivity it not too sure. Alienware oled monitors aren’t delivering until august. I’m so torn.
@@mujtabamujeeb786 I'm kinda in same boat. But i'll be getting the 75" C2 to use with my 3080 Ti because i already sit several foot away. You can disable the ASBL (Automatic Static Brightness Limiter) dimming in the service menu, but you'll have to get an LG 'service remote' to access that menu (vids on here show how to do it). You can buy them on Ebay/Amazon. I'll be doing this because i think it will be fine with an EX panel. I also use a dark theme on everything. But the place i'll be getting it from in the UK has a 5 year burn-in warranty so i'm not worried lol. The Alienware QD-OLED doesn't interest me because the text and small icon rendering is awful for productivity due to the weird triangle subpixel layout. It produces a chromatic aberration-like effect. HDTV Test shows it in his Alienware vid, and i _think_ it was Stop The Fomo who did a first impressions live stream where he could see it from around 10 foot away (!!). Although that was a worst case scenario with a white edge on black background, but still. There's also serious problems like an audible fan, or the lack of a screen polarizer so it reflects a ton of light which totally ruins the gorgeous OLED contrast, and the res not even being 4K. Hardware Unboxed also have a good review on the Alienware and they mention many of these issues.
the C1 has gotten price cut. when the C1 series released the 65" didn't cost $1,700 like now. how much? $2,500. same orice as C2 65". the 48" which was the smallest = $1,500. same price as the C2 48". C2 price is normal for release(Sony A90K 42" also costs $1,400) and eventually it will take a price cut and reach C1 prices. all you have to do is be patient and wait. the C2 55" and above have the brighter EVO panel with better colors compared with C1 55" and above. once the price cut comes it will 100% worth to buy the C2 55" and above.
I love my lg 48 cx as a monitor especially for gaming. That paired with a 3070ti, can't beat it I get 4k 90-100fps on ultra settings on all games if not more. I'm more of a eye candy kinda guy rather than a fps nerd.
I've been considering the C2 42" to replace my ancient Sony Bravia 1080p 60hz set that I purchased back in 2008. I recently picked up a PS5 and the C2 would probably make the most of that console. Not really a fan of screen burn in, kind of reminds me of the early HD plasma TV'S.😄
The C2 runs at 120hz, so it was made for the P5. Your HDMI cable that came with your P5 is HDMI 2.1 compatible. You will need that to get the most out of the P5.
This was months ago but I recently ordered a C2, coming from a Sony Bravia X90J. If you don’t want to go the OLED route, the X90J is an amazing TV too and supports 4K120 and VRR. It has very good colours and local dimming.
Personally I’m going to go with 48’ oled as the screen will hopefully feel more immersive. Also got my on the Sony a90k. Will see how this tv performs.
Thanks, this review covered everything that I needed to know. Now I would feel good about picking it up for productivity and gaming. I'm still going to wait to see how the A90K performs but I'm happy about having this as a legit option.
It doesn't answer the big question though. Monitors are basically OLEDs worst enemy. Unless you intend to get a new monitor in a year or 3, it will be pretty likely to get permanent burn in within that time frame with heavy usage (or you can prevent it by putting the brightness extra low, but there's no point in getting something so expensive if you're not going to make proper use of it). The guy making this video doesn't quite seem to understand how OLED burn in works and that it's technically the reverse of the classical plasma burn in. As in... that it's more something of a burn out.
@@thenonexistinghero I have a 17 yr old Plasma TV that has probably logged a million hours over the years. Only a year ago did I just start getting burn in and image retention. OLED is miiiiiles ahead of Plasma screens in terms of efficiency

I’d been waiting for this to drop all day, much appreciated dude. I think I’m just too scared to use a 42” as a monitor, as nice as it would be to have something of this calibre on my desk. If you have any recommendations for 4K 120hz monitors within that 32-38ish bracket I’d love to hear them!
There’s a new 34 inch Alienware monitor with an OLED panel and 120Hz support. Reviews say it’s a fantastic monitor and the price isn’t too bad either, but there might be some availability issues.
Check out Hardware Unboxed. They recommend the Gigabyte M something. I think it’s a 32” 4K monitor. You’re right in being afraid to use a huge monitor, especially if you have only one PC or plan on using it as your only monitor. I have the Aorus 43” 4k monitor. It’s VA but the picture quality isn’t the problem - the sheer distance of the corners from your center field of view negates the additional space they provide. For work and casual use, multiple 27” or 32” monitors, or a widescreen monitor would be much better.
@@iatwiatw I currently use a 34” ultra wide on my desk for work mostly as I don’t use a PC for gaming (I might in the future, though), and have an older 27/28” LG 4K monitor next to it that hardly ever gets turned on. The difference between the 2 resolutions means I can’t use them for work at the same time as the non-4K next to 4K looks terrible. I’d probably use a decent 32” 4K as my main driver, and possibly keep the 28” as a secondary.
YES...I have a Razer OLED laptop that's 60hz and has a 3070. I have a USB-C(Thunderbolt) to displayport cable, that allows me to play on a high refresh monitor and with GSNYC. I love the LG OLEDs but that’s just way too big for me (as a monitor). 32” helps me appreciate the value 4K brings but even then, I think 27” is my personal sweet spot.
@@dylanhumphrey2479 I was saying I think 32" helps me appreciate the value a little better than 27" (the extra screen real estate let's the 4K shine to my eyes), and so obviously like you said even bigger, even better. We're on the same page.
I just got my LG C2 55 a few weeks ago. I play on Series X it’s amazing. Also watching Sports is amazing as well. Only thing is the WEB OS 22 is clunky. My old LG B8 55 had a simple app pop up menu which was much better I thought. Also I wish the remote was back lit as well. Other than that I love the TV.
I already have the c1 and it’s amazing, no reason for me to upgrade to same tv brand, i would prefer new 42 inch Sony A90K, perfect with my PS5, and the C1 i will use it for my XBOX
I've been very interested in the monitors and TVs, that have been offered lately. Since I have been trying to, upgrade to a 4K TV for a while now. So I can have the full gaming experience, on my ps4 and ps5 (once I am able to buy one) 😁🤔
ps4 and ps5 are not native 4K. the consoles are weak for native 4K. they are upscale and most of the time the upscaling doesn't reach 4K. the console is weak even to upscale to 4K, and newer games will be more demanding.
Was the entire video recorded with the Iphone 13 Pro? I really appreciate your content, I also make videos for TH-cam with my cell phone but I use a Galaxy S22+ and watching your channel a while ago you said you use an iPhone to record. The quality is very good.
I’ve been using the c1 for about a year and a half and not burn in.. take care of your monitor instead of leaving it on all the time . I swear people are so fucking stupid
Still not recommended to buy OLED if you mostly just play one game all day. The HUD in fighting games for example will eventually burn in, just like the HUD in any game that you play all day. Those HUD are static.
I wouldn’t buy it cause it’s too expensive for a Monitor in my opinion. But I think the OLED technology has potential for the monitor market when it becomes more affordable Great Review 🌟
this is not a monitor. it's a TV. it's marketed as TV and sold as TV. when you get it the default input is TV. you have to choose PC mode manually. if you go to a store you will find it at the TV department and not at PC monitor department. the prices of C2 are normal for initial price. when the LG C1 TV's released their prices were not what they are now. the 48" didn't cost $1,000 like now. price was $1,500. the exact same price as C2 48". C1 65" now costs $1,700. at release it's price was $2,500. how much does the C2 65" cost? if you guessed $2,500 then you're correct. same price as C1 65" at release. C2 prices will also drop after the price cut. all you have to do is be patient and wait. btw, Sony A90k 42" costs $1,400. same price as C2 42". the initial prices are always expensive. it's really a shame that youtubers and articles say that the C2 is more expensive than the C1 while C1 at release had the exact same prices as C2 so people think that the C2 is overpriced and buy C1 instead.
I bought the C2 42 for Ps5 gaming and programming work and a C2 65 as a TV which I can of course also use for gaming if I want to. Maybe for late nights when I just want to sit in a couch but overall I’ll use the 42 inch for gaming.
I've been doing this 10 years now. Tbf, this was before OLED, but it's the same premise. I started by cutting cable and connecting my TV to a PC, then over the years, as I've cycled in newer TVs (LG OLED s), I now have this setup in my home phone and work office as well. I use the Microsoft surface so I just plug in the surface dock connecter in either of my offices, and I'm good to go. I use a wireless mouse and keyboard btw.
I use a USB-C to HDMI cable on mine, and set the resolution to 3008x1692 (only available when using that kind of cable, not with HDMI to HDMI). The text is super sharp, it's almost "retina". Note that resolution is half that of the Apple XDR monitor.
Hello, Thanks for the review. there's an alternative for switching it on and off, and that is "Screen Off", and you can put this option in 'quick access menu'. This way you will not need to switch it on and off every now and then. Excuse my English.
I bought the 42inch C2, I can’t see how anyone would use it as a productivity monitor, I’m used to using LG 5k. Great for the PS5, but I think a couch and bigger screen is more my cup of tea
I got it too. How do you like it? I am having a hard time looking at text in the corners of the monitor as it feels like it is too far away and wished this was curved in a bit.
You don't use HGiG? Can report my 42inch C2 is almost perfect. It does suffer from the dreaded blinding or netting effect in HDR content whenever panning across any white but I had this on my C1 and CX so it's not a big surprise. Seems they still can't fix that for some panels. The further away I am from the TV. the less I notice it.
@@Mohammed-xm5le If you’re stepping into OLED for the first time and want something to fit your gaming setup it’s definitely worth getting. I wouldn’t worry too much about burn in as the built in screen shift and logo luminance does a great job of preventing that from happening. As for me, I have mine sitting on my gaming desk but I have to sit a bit further back to avoid picking up any blinding effects in HDR and for my vision. It can get a little tiring on the eyes if sitting close for long stretches.
@@Mohammed-xm5le as main monitor, no. you will get burn-in 100%. if you want to buy it and put it behind your current monitor and use your monitor for regular use like browsing, etc and when you want to play a game or watch a movie you switch to the TV then yes. spend 1-2 minutes to take away your monitor to use the TV is unquestionably worth it to avoid the burn-in. those that will get an OLED as main monitor will regret it later once the burn in kicks in. the other option is to buy the Alienware QD-OLED. this is a PC monitor and and it has 3 year warranty for burn-in by default and for free.

And 2 42" monitors won't fit on my Argosy HALO.K88 Plus recording console workstation.
do you ever wonder what a 34" 21:9 display would feel like? that's what I am on the fence about
@@bernardogalvao4448 what do you plan on doing with it? For me, I would not get 21:9 monitor. I don't like the loss of verticality when developing software. Furthermore, most monitors with that dimension have less pixels than a standard 4k monitor. You pay more to display less information. The "4k" only refers to the number of pixels in the horizontal dimension. To get the 21:9 ratio, they basically chop off some vertical pixels. So if you are on the fence, I'd go with a standard 4k dimension and see of there is one at 34" size.
Nah. 32 is great but I think 42 is bad. You would be having to move your eyes all around all the time.
32 inch is a monitor size and not a TV.

Yep I can't wait for the 42in flex!

I dont care dumb a, I still prefer a smaller screen.

How’s your burn in? I saw Linus’ was pretty bad after 1 year… I do a lot of excel and scared my games will have excel spreadsheets burnt.. 😅

2 questions for anyone here:
Looks good, can't wait to have it when it's back on stock lol
Great video! 👏👏👏
Do you have your lightroom presets for sale?
I can definitely see this finally being the OLED that makes sense for me. The full 4K for games and then use it as 21:9 for work (3840 x 1600). It's about 5 inches wider and 7 inches taller than my current 34" 1440p with very similar PPI.
Too bad the MBP doesn't have hdmi 2.1, but 120Hz isn't that big of a deal for working. The only thing I'm worried about is the ABL
ABL can be turned off by a service remote, which is very cheap.
Why would you cut off vertical pixels for work?

I use a 32" 4K monitor for general use and work! I usually sit more or less the same like in the video. He says that 32" would be perfect for gaming like warzone but I disagree. It is too big. 24 to 27 inch is the perfect size as you don't have to sit a mile away and in the center of your vision you can see the whole screen meaning that you can spot enemies faster.
So I should wait to buy this as my monitor then?
@@mujtabamujeeb786 Personally i'd wait. I know the 42" EX panels were already being manufactured for a few months now so you shouldn't have to wait long, but it's hard to say when you will be guaranteed to get an EX panel. Some places have old stock for ages.

I have a 48" C1 on my desktop. I thought it would be too big...but it's perfect. Basically like 2 full monitors.
Thanks to C2, I got new 55 C1 for a 1000 euro 😉😎🙏

the C1 has gotten price cut. when the C1 series released the 65" didn't cost $1,700 like now. how much? $2,500. same orice as C2 65". the 48" which was the smallest = $1,500. same price as the C2 48".
I am just here for the accent and I love the all black schematics! Chic!!!

I have the same setup have you had any bad experiences with burn in?
Does it hurt your eyes for being so close? And for being a tv instead of a monitor?
It has very good colours and local dimming.

thank you for doingt this! strongly considering chanigng from my Dell 3818 UW to this! This was very informative!! Subscribed!
@@ronniekregar3482 They are completely different technologies and their burn in isn't the same at all -__-
@@thenonexistinghero I get that...my point is that burn in is such an overblown issue. You gotta run your TV into the ground or pretty much get stuck with a lemon for burn in to be a real concern.
@@thenonexistinghero and I paid like 3 grand for that thing back in like 05 lol. I'd say I got my money's worth at least lol.
I really was waiting for this video
Love your videos
@@iatwiatw oh and possibly the M32U? I saw Bob Wulff review those, looked good but had some bad reviews elsewhere. Will check it out
Honestly once you get a tv and see how drastically advanced the screen technology is compared to monitors you won’t regret having a big screen.
How do you get 120hz from the Macbook Pro on your C2? What is your cabling setup?
I think I prefer it as a TV than a monitor, nothing against the monitor but as a tv itself it’s looks better
YES...I have a Razer OLED laptop that's 60hz and has a 3070. I have a USB-C(Thunderbolt) to displayport cable, that allows me to play on a high refresh monitor and with GSNYC. Adapters won't work, it has to be a straight a cable. As far as how it works with a Mac specifically, I can't speak to that.
Still amazes me that all this amazing footage can come from the device in our pockets man! #bethelight
Thanks man. The iPhone still amazes me.
He's using no add-on lenses?
@@DNGR369 Maybe on the odd shot here and there but 9 times outta 10 our man uses the base lens on the phone for his vids and tweaks it in post-production
No add-on lenses, just the iPhone camera and standard camera app.
@@SpawnPoiint Even better! 😄 Enjoy the videos you do bud. Keep up the great content.
It needs display port to make the MBP work at 4K 120hz. No problem with the Gigabyte.
I love the LG OLEDs but that’s just way too big for me (as a monitor). 32” helps me appreciate the value 4K brings but even then, I think 27” is my personal sweet spot.
I've had every size monitor and 32" seems like it should be the new standard, with 42 would being my sweet spot.
The value of 4K, I feel, can definitely still be appreciated above 32”. Otherwise what’s the point of 4K TVs? 😂
It’s on sale for 799 right now
I dont know anything about tv pricing and how low they get, assuming you do, do you think this tv will go for cheaper than 799 in perhaps a year or 2?
what site
Really great review. Could you do other TVs as monitors. This one is great but its quite expensive
ABL is a deal breaker!
Get a service remote and disable it
Great review, im buying this tv tomorrow !
Thanks for watching!
I already have the c1 and it’s amazing, no reason for me to upgrade to same tv brand, i would prefer new 42 inch Sony A90K, perfect with my PS5, and the C1 i will use it for my XBOX
C1 48 its too big, this 42 is perfect
Great review! I am planning to get the new LG Oled 2024 to be use with my Mac Mini.
Yes all on the iPhone 13 Mini
@@SpawnPoiint Do you use native camera or filmic pro or something like that?
Not worth risking getting burn in when using it for a PC.
Exactly. That's the main thing - you'll get burn-in after a year. Shouldn't be using an OLED as a PC monitor
I’ve been using the c1 for about a year and a half and not burn in.. take care of your monitor instead of leaving it on all the time . I swear people are so fucking stupid
For a 42 inch TV as a monitor, much better to have a deeper desk to have more distance for viewing, also for your eyes
Where I live it's 1100 US$. Great value for size..
Still not recommended to buy OLED if you mostly just play one game all day. The HUD in fighting games for example will eventually burn in, just like the HUD in any game that you play all day. Those HUD are static.
I wouldn’t buy it cause it’s too expensive for a Monitor in my opinion. But I think the OLED technology has potential for the monitor market when it becomes more affordable
Great Review 🌟
Thanks Darth. That’s a fair comment too as it is definitely overpriced!
this is not a monitor. it's a TV. it's marketed as TV and sold as TV. when you get it the default input is TV. you have to choose PC mode manually. if you go to a store you will find it at the TV department and not at PC monitor department.
the prices of C2 are normal for initial price. when the LG C1 TV's released their prices were not what they are now. the 48" didn't cost $1,000 like now. price was $1,500. the exact same price as C2 48". C1 65" now costs $1,700. at release it's price was $2,500. how much does the C2 65" cost? if you guessed $2,500 then you're correct. same price as C1 65" at release. C2 prices will also drop after the price cut. all you have to do is be patient and wait. btw, Sony A90k 42" costs $1,400. same price as C2 42". the initial prices are always expensive.
it's really a shame that youtubers and articles say that the C2 is more expensive than the C1 while C1 at release had the exact same prices as C2 so people think that the C2 is overpriced and buy C1 instead.
amazing for gaming! but colors were off for my work so returned it.
Bought one ($899 US) for my PC...Love it...
I bought the C2 42 for Ps5 gaming and programming work and a C2 65 as a TV which I can of course also use for gaming if I want to. Maybe for late nights when I just want to sit in a couch but overall I’ll use the 42 inch for gaming.
Did you use The multiview with ps5 + PC on HDMI at same time ? Or still don' t working ?
Dude has a sweet set up. You make me want to get a new TV.
Can the surface pro output 4k 120hz over USB C to the TV? If so what dongle can do this?
@@mikerosoft1009 It's not the dock, it's the PC. I Think the newest one can only output dual 4k 60.
I use a USB-C to HDMI cable on mine, and set the resolution to 3008x1692 (only available when using that kind of cable, not with HDMI to HDMI). The text is super sharp, it's almost "retina". Note that resolution is half that of the Apple XDR monitor.
3008?
@@Xolition yep 3008
How many Hz?
@@workflow365 60
Bought a 65 inch a few days ago and it's perfect! It's mounted on the wall about 10 feet away :D
Just bought one to use with my new pc. Looking forward to it!
Hello, Thanks for the review.
there's an alternative for switching it on and off, and that is "Screen Off", and you can put this option in 'quick access menu'.
This way you will not need to switch it on and off every now and then.
Excuse my English.
How i enjoyed watching this brother. Getting mine. Great video!!
The size and the quality of this TV is perfect for late night gaming in the bedroom.
I bought the 42inch C2, I can’t see how anyone would use it as a productivity monitor, I’m used to using LG 5k.
Great for the PS5, but I think a couch and bigger screen is more my cup of tea
Thanks for the review. It definitely helped me make my decision. I was able to snag this for just under 800 usd on prime day before it sold out.
I got it too. How do you like it? I am having a hard time looking at text in the corners of the monitor as it feels like it is too far away and wished this was curved in a bit.
Nice video you covered everything as simple as possible
Thank you!
Buddy I'm looking to get this 42inch model for PC AND Gaming, recommend it? Thanks
@@Mohammed-xm5le If you’re stepping into OLED for the first time and want something to fit your gaming setup it’s definitely worth getting. Personally I wouldn’t use it as a monitor for ordinary things such as web browsing and such but for gaming, it’s unparalleled for this size.
