Love your videos! Got into them when i found my father's old matchbox collection and set out to find and replace them all with new ones, and your tutorials on restoring methods has really helped me make a sizeable dent!
Really gorgeous looking Ford J-Car! Looks exactly the way it did when it was first packed into the box 50 years ago! Now it's ready to race down the track once again!!
You've inspired me to start practicing restoring old toy cars so that one day, I'll feel confident enough to restore the old ones from my childhood that really deserve to look new again
You mentioned that you really didn't know the history of this car in real life but this would have been the machine done up in the classic blue-and-orange Gulf Oil livery. I'm old enough to remember these cars AND the "Hot Wheels" cartoon real time. Keep up the good work.
The baby blue and orange were gt 40s raced in 68 and 69. The j car was never raced. Ken Miles was killed testing the j car when the rear body came off. The car was repaired to ford mk4 specs and raced that way.
Great work, though I'm not a big of orange, this actually impressed me. Great color, it made the stickers stand out. Can't wait to see what you got in store next.
I have a whole bunch of old hot wheels and matchbox cars from the 60s and 70s from when my dad was young. A lot of them look like these restoration projects. I wish I had the time to work on them like you’ve done! Great stuff!
Fantastic as always. I wish I could do this. I have restored furniture, so I understand how bringing something back to it's original form is so awesome.
I've been watching a lot of these restoration videos lately. My favorites are the ones (like this one!) of cars that I had myself when I was a kid. This one turned out beautifully! I'm thinking of taking up this hobby myself. As nice as the paint looks, I'd love to do a couple shiny, unpainted ones. Thanks for sharing your work!
I bet the hoods don't have very good continuity when you pid them in your electro-polisher as they aren't part of the rest of the body that you always fully "ground", try and see if attaching an additional alligator clip to the hoods' under sides take care of the issue.
You inspired me to start restoring old models as well. Trail and error, that is how I learn. My first car had to be painted 3 times before it came out ok.
Excellent job!!... Well done!!... That orange is almost perfect colour match for my high class whisky, which i use for this Channel!!.. Happy Christmas!!... Cheers!!.
I think the extra polishing added a nice touch to the finish. Makes the orange pop, and adds just that little extra to the shine. Great job, the extra work pays off imho. Happy and safe holidays to you and yours.
This was my favorite car as a kid, after watching your videos, I'm hoping I can find my old collection somewhere in storage, if I do, I'm going to go through the old backpack full of cars I had and start restoring them.
That's a great result! I think the step where you polished it before painting made a big difference - usually I see scratch marks from the steel wool on the roof, but it looks like you polished those away here.
That little car looks great! A very nice restauration. Merry Christmas and a happy newyYear to you, your family and all the subscribers here, where ever they live. Greetings from Germany
Your restoration videos have legitimately helped me to restore some old die-cast Machine Men/Gobots figures and the die-cast on vintage Transformers. Even though I'm not a Hot Wheels guy (or a car guy in general), it's always interesting and... well, helpful to watch your videos! Keep on makin' these, mate. I'll keep watching!
I'm certain I used to have a blue one of these when I was a kid except on mine the rear hood opened up and there was a metal engine inside. Your restoration looks amazing by the way. If I find any old redlines in a box in my attic, I'm sending them your way.
that orange is sooo nice! and that was a windshield resto 101! great work and happy holidays, hopefully you get a stocking full of banged up matchbox and hot wheels!!
Love the orange - very cool color. Your videos bring back lots of memories. My brother and I probably destroyed half of the cars you have restored (hey - maybe we have contributed some of the cars you have been working on - always glad to be of service... :). Thanks for the videos and the detailed voiceovers!
Nice work!! I love the Grand Prix cars in orange! I have an original ford j in orange that is in excellent shape. Mine has a little wedge like most ford j cars but the engine lid has no post to catch the block, like the early ones with no block and a full transmission.
Many thanks for all the great videos throughout the year. I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Very Happy New Year!!! Best of luck in 2019, Joe
Nice to see you back doing another classic Hot Wheel restoration. In some of your more recent videos you seemed to be gravitating to older Matchbox cars like what Marty does on his channel. While I do enjoy those too, I feel like your gift is working with Hot Wheels, and those videos are where you really shine.
Not sure why but this was one of my favorite Hot Wheels as a kid. Maybe it was because it so cool (or boss, as we used to say) how awesome Ford was in the '60's
To attach the stickers: use some glass cleaner! Just spray it on the model and immediately put the sticker onto it. The cleaner provides a separations layer so that you can adjust the sticker. Than press it down, removing all the cleaner and air underneath it. When the cleaner evaporates, your sticker will be perfect!
Love your videos! Got into them when i found my father's old matchbox collection and set out to find and replace them all with new ones, and your tutorials on restoring methods has really helped me make a sizeable dent!
Love the videos and love to see how passionate a collector you are and the work that goes into restoring these gems
Really gorgeous looking Ford J-Car! Looks exactly the way it did when it was first packed into the box 50 years ago! Now it's ready to race down the track once again!!

I will never learn to polish and recover an old hot wheels car but yet I still watched the full length of this video
holy crap that colour came out absolutely gorgeous
It looks brand new! I am amazed out how nice it looks. Thanks for sharing this and have a Merry Christmas.

You’re always a treat to watch, mate, if anyone is…
Great video 👍

Beat me by **checks timestamp** 16 hours. That was my first thought, too - electrical connection.
I think you're right. I'm going to try it myself to see.
Can I send you a car to restore
DomTheBom theman
which one? I may be of a help for you, let me know:)
You inspired me to start restoring old models as well. Trail and error, that is how I learn. My first car had to be painted 3 times before it came out ok.
Great job. Thanks again for sharing. Love all your videos.
Marry Christmas Eve god bless you and your family I love the videos keep up the good work 😊

Sweet looking color! The zink plating looks good. Sounds like a good way to make sure the car last. :)
Truly the best gift for Christmas. Merry Christmas BaremetalHW!

That "play in the bearings" is my favorite part of these things.
Yet another excellent resto! Awesome job!
Merry Christmas! That is a stunning result! Loved the shine from the additional polish before paint. That windshield turned out looking brand new.
J-Car... one of my favorites! Nice job on it.
That orange spectraflame looks great. Like a brand new penny.
Stunning resto. Can’t wait to see more.
Merry Christmas

That little car looks great! A very nice restauration. Merry Christmas and a happy newyYear to you, your family and all the subscribers here, where ever they live. Greetings from Germany
Great restoration custom , l love that orange colour 👍
Nice Job! The zinc plating you do gives a great finish..
Gorgeous look, I'm sure you have your own ranking but from what I've seen this is some of your finest work.
You can see in the before shots, the back seems to have already been discolored, so that might explain why it looked like it after electropolishing it
What a treat! Thank you for the holiday update
That is an absolutely gorgeous Ford GT40. Thank you so much for sharing, and have an amazing Christmas!
Oh my god!!!! That orange looks amaaaaazing!!!!
That's an amazing colour. Nice job overall.
Very nice results. I never have any luck polishing the scratches out of windows. Something I still have difficulty with. 👍
Another nice restoration. Im woth you on that passion for stickers vs water-slides. Merry Christmas!

From where I’m sitting that looks like a brilliant piece of restoration. Thanks for sharing your skills.
That zinc plating is awesome!
Windshield came out looking really good.
Nice car!
Turned out really great, thanks again from South Africa
You missed a spot to paint black, its right above the other black part on the back.
Yeah it's the section on the back of the hood, not sure if that was intentionally left out.
Flutterdrive ocd is kicking in
Another excellent restoration, and another enjoyable and informative video! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
We found this one in blue on a Flea Market! It's a very nice car!
This turned out very cool! Love the orange color. 😎
Excellent job. Two thumbs up!
I'm certain I used to have a blue one of these when I was a kid except on mine the rear hood opened up and there was a metal engine inside. Your restoration looks amazing by the way. If I find any old redlines in a box in my attic, I'm sending them your way.
Seriously one of the best TH-cam channels going today. Congratulations on hitting 250k!
that orange is sooo nice! and that was a windshield resto 101! great work and happy holidays, hopefully you get a stocking full of banged up matchbox and hot wheels!!
Love the redline-orange combo, looks great. Cool car body too! Merry Christmas!!
Love the orange - very cool color. Your videos bring back lots of memories. Great stuff. Looks awesome in orange. Looking forward to seeing the whole set. Happy Christmas!
I would call it well loved condition rather than worn.
"Experienced!"
Nice build. I'm actually going to start doing a few Redlines myself that I picked up on eBay.
