    That looks awesome. You should make a new updated version of a complete redline restoration how-to since your audience has grown much larger. Since it is been so long since you first made the video, you can show all the new techniques you have learned since then like zinc plating, electropolishing, etc. , and maybe some alternatives for those who don’t have the tools, that way new viewers won’t have to ask so many questions, and I won’t heave to hear why you clip the wheels off rather than pull them off every time😂

    Twin Mill always a fave. As a kid i remember being genuinely delighted when this and other new models were introduced, thank you for giving them shiny new lives😃 It's an endless task, taking detail to perfection, but smoothing the seams and edges of these beauties makes them look great. You're really not fooling anyone once the pins are drilled away and repro wheels put on.

    I do need to correct you on the statement at 7:40 on the manufactures dates starting in 2008, Mattel began using base codes for Hot Wheels vehicles. The base code can be used to identify when an individual vehicle was actually manufactured in the Hot Wheels factory.
    The L03 on the blue twin mill means it was made in 2019 in the 3rd week. Also the years mean the car was first copy right in 1969, a re tool in 2011, and in 2014 the new one that was released in 2019 as a t-hunt has an 18 for it's new plastic base.

    I am a big fan of the Twin Mill ever since Forza Horizon 3. I have 2 cars: An original one in Black with Red flames and the modern 50th Anniversary.

    • @willambernahecooking4036
      @willambernahecooking4036 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have those same two! The black with red flames was a 2009 release though. The 1969 date on the bottom is a copyright. There should be an alpha numeric code though, A being 2008, B is 2009, etc., and the number being the week in the year.
      That being said, I repainted mine black with a dark blue racing stripe, made a crash bar with rally lights, repainted the wheels, and added a lift. The old windshield was bad, so I made one. Completely screwed any collectability.

    • @GTvsForza
      @GTvsForza 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the oldest HW I have is a Mazda MX-5. I looked it up on the wiki and it shows it was made in 1995. It's the dark red one. It's in fair condition for its age. The paint is chipped a lot on the front bumper, but other than that it's still an okay car.

    Great job! As others have said, I think the side pipes could be softened and bent inward against the body since the original pipes laid flatter than the new ones. How do you decide which bits you keep the “truth” versus which it’s okay to fudge? Seems almost contradictory, so I would love to hear the decision process.

  • @77PacerStudios

    That's one beautiful looking Twin Mill!! Personally, my mother had one of the original Twin Mills from 1969! Hers was colored Spectraflame Light Blue. Sadly, sometime in the early to mid-1990s, my older brother Stephen inherited the Twin Mill from Mom only to accidentally misplace it somewhere. Luckily, I have 2 Twin Mills! One is a Red 30th Anniversary Edition Twin Mill I got off Ebay in July 2017, and the other Twin Mill is the exact same colored HW Exotics Twin Mill from 2018 that is seen in this video. I even recreated the HW Exotics Twin Mill in Forza Horizon 3 as well! I don't know about you, but I believe that at least some original Twin Mills from back in the day had their engines feel like they were somewhat loose or something. The fact that the engines were originally separate parts from each other may be the explanation for why the engines felt loose. Apparently Mattel must've noticed this and joined the engines and cockpit together to fix this issue.

    • @brandoncraddock3081
      @brandoncraddock3081 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Twin Mill is a must-have redline in my opinion and I’m glad that there are many modern examples for younger kids to have one in their collections! I have 3 redline examples; one in antifreeze, one in green, and the rose one in this video

      @@brandoncraddock3081 Sweet, glad you have the same awesome taste for the Twin Mill that I have! I even went as far as not only recreating my blue HW Exotics Twin Mill in Forza Horizon 3, but also creating this video of mine here featuring the Twin Mill in both real life in-game: th-cam.com/video/46yOgGnP6dw/w-d-xo.html I simply spliced together gameplay footage with real life footage to make it convincing, lol!

    The paint came out very nice but I think there has to be a slight difference in the engines as the pipes on the newer ones have a tendency to stick out on the sides. It could be a micrometer level difference in the lower body or engine, but it's still there somewhat if you'll agree. Thanks for the work, it's always great!

    Cameras use UV reflection to focus. The UV can be detected by the camera, and it alters the received frequency of some colours. Tiffin make a "Hot mirror" filter than can help. An easy way to see this effect is to point a remote control from a TV at the lens and watch the signal pulse come out of the UV LED on the front of the remote. Love the videos btw.

    Great job - should point out the the date code you talk about is marked on the base of modern Hot Wheels - the L03 on your engine donor shows it was made in week 3 of 2018

    Looks amazing like you always do, the only thing I notice but maybe it is just me, is that the exhaust pipes coming off the new engines look like the stick out a tiny bit more than the originals did, but they look just as cool. Please correct me if I am wrong but it maybe just my eyes playing tricks. But either way AWESOME JOB.
