Challenge day tomorrow with TimeRider we are doing a "Muscle Makeover" Be sure to head over there and drop some blubs! Posting at 2PM Central Daylight Time (GMT -5) Wait till you see what I got cookin.. lol th-cam.com/channels/Rr_WxhUUG_A8hCuX8OkdDQ.html
Awesome!... This should be fun!...... Oh yeah.... YES!.... RATROD CHALLENGE!... Outlaw perhaps?...or better. See if you could do dual challenges. Example. You challenge Danny on a car/topic, and then it flips. He picks the subject. This way two resto heads get to try another's style. Like Ratrod challenge then Road Warrior, or whatever! The way you guys have formed a community around HW/MB etc resto is so much fun. My wife thinks I'm nuts.
Thank you. I've added this 'how to' in my library of how tos for future referral when I start up my own "Shakey Restorations" channel... you'll get full kudos of course... 👋🏼👌🏼👍🏼
That purple came out super sweet. If more guys start spraying spectra flame the way you do, we'll be seeing some truly tasty Redlines coming our way. Three blubs up all the way.
@@DiecastResurrectionmost people think I'm crazy but try taking some 12,000 grit to one for a quick dry sand. I'm to the point that unless it's near mint, every new to me redline I add to my collection gets that done before I take any show off pictures. Only figured out that trick because I spray a lot of Createx Candy2o over polished castings. That 12,000 gets me damn near to a mirror finish before I even touch the buffing wheel.
When you set up the zinc plating apparatus I could hear Gene Wilder as Dr Frankenstein exclaim "Life! Give my creation LIFE!" Great job and always fun watching your work. 😁🐾🐶
Sweet ride ... my "Old Man" had one of those back in the day. It met it's end at a busy intersection in Portland, Oregon, one fine evening in the mid '70s.
That is just killer! I love Nomads one of my favorite castings. The purple and the tyres is a perfect combination. maybe some details front and back would really look great.😍😍
I love your work and dedication. Some of the hot wheels car's you restored were crying for some TLC and you provided with extreme care. Keep up the good work and great videos.
@@DiecastResurrection out of curiosity what does it cost to restore a car. I used to collect but I put it aside and never got back to it. Never thought of restoring them.
I actually like how you just explained the plating setup and acted like it wasn't a big deal Other restorers either refuse to show it again because reasons, or never explain it at all
Yay! Another good video from the star of the Hot Wheels diecast resurrection show! The hard part is getting the posts drilled and tapped because the post is so thin.
Have to say. I love that color!! Oils of been a great car to put a small battery in back and drill out head lights and put small fiber led lights in place.
Straight Pimpin for Jimmy! The new process for doing that spectraflame paint is really working out, your purple came out superb and absolutely delicious Brohamadan! Everybody! make sure to like, share and comment on all zee videos! There is merch and also aPatreon...make sure to give and hoot and hook yaself up!
Great tech video of the zinc plating process, and the car turned out sweet - purple is an excellent color for large bodied vehicles (like HOK's Burple on late 40's lead sleds). Love those Torque Thrust wheels and wide back tires too! One of these days, maybe you could try one with just a hint of color over the zinc - let the silver shine through. Poor Jimmy however, has seen some better days - think he needs to head over to Floyd's for a guy makeover. Also, 0:45 and 13:32 - you're clearly enjoying the innuendo as much as your viewers!
Great job! I have one of these Alive 55's from when I little. It's not as rough as this one but I would still like to restore it at some point. Can't wait until the next video! Blub blub blub blub!
Add 2 small grooves on the ends of the brass tube (axle) for a more stable and lasting fit. (Glue has something more to bite into instead of smooth on smooth) Gorilla glue is good, I use JB Weld for a more permanent application. The purple was sick and deep and the wheels looked great.
Damn I remember when I was a kid I used to take my hot wheels apart chance out wheels and scape all the paint off then repaint them with my mom's finger nail polish. Lol. Hot wheels restoring came along ways some of you do get serious about it. Lol.. that's cool love the videos..
Awesome build and restore , loved the color that was insane rich looking.Cant go wrong with the nomad, it was one of my favorites as a kid, i had a few of them.
With your dedication to restoring Hot Wheels and your expertise, you should keep a set of the Sweet 16 models in a display case mounted on the wall. A Plano Hot Wheels case works good. Was shopping at Kroger's grocery store and found some Hot Wheels Zamac cars from the 50th Anniversary. Some cool looking cars.
You've become a pro at wowing people (well at least me) with your paint jobs... You will soon be bored of my "love the paint on this car" comments if you ain't already
One of the best features of the tri-5 era nomads, in my opinion, was the chrome on the back end. It would have been great to see the chrome stripping on the tailgate kept silver (zinc). Not sure how that could be done easily though.

I really like that the challenges are for promotion of the hobbie, keep up the great moves!
“Sometimes the dirty ones are the fun ones” you got that right.
;)
Dude.... You're on to something. That purple looks deep. It's a highway star. 😉
She's a killer machine/she's got everything
Ok. This is now my most favourite car on your channel. Who doesn't love an old school bench seat!
This is your favorite? This crusty blackwall ??
@@DiecastResurrection yep. Closest thing so far to an old EH Holden station wagon.
I appreciate you putting all the stuff you use in the description. I'm interested in the plating. That's neat. Thanks man

Eh from Ontario too
There is a perfect nomad
You can tube the axle if you want to, but leave the crusties behind. This nomad turned out shibby as fudge, I like it!!
What up JAY P!!??
Just chillin, and catching up on some of you're vids man, I'm diggin on what you did with this one!!
That 55 Nomad came out Badd Ass love how it looks with those wheels.

Thank you.
Finally, a nomad!!!
And JIMMY!!!!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo now that's the way to revive a casting and turn out a real head turner. Thanks for the info from the UK . 'Top Job Fella' ;-)
Yes! Great work! I've been hoping for a Nomad resto. There are so many options for such a cool car.
