"Ladies who accidentally clicked?" A whole lot of us played with Matchbox cars and I'm sure many others would find these videos as soothing as this lady if the algorithm would lead them here.😅
So... around 80% of female viewers watch videos related to beauty and weight loss while an equal percentage of male viewers watch gaming and niche hobby videos like this one. That's so 2020.
@@zach3360 I'm not offended but it sure sounds like my comment got to you. It was meant as a gentle joke to point out that women aren't just here by accident. I don't wear make up, but I watch MUA for the same reason I watch these: it's soothing to watch someone make something fresh, fun, and beautiful. I guarantee you other women are watching both MUA and Matchbox car make overs for that same reason. You should mess with your algorithm and try watching some MUA - you might like them too. Roll on. Enjoy your day. Let people have their innocent comments.
Lady here, dont worry, I always click your videos on purpose. Both your beautiful worksmanship and knowledge of the history of these cars always draw me in.
SO GLAD TO SEE YOU BACK ON, HOPE ALL IS GOOD AND THAT YOU DIDNT HAVE ANY SERIOUS PROBLEMS!!!!!! Beautiful job as always you sure have not lost your touch in your absence. Hope you will be on more often.
Hot wheels have always been my favorite childhood memory. I still have a few of my well worn cars. I've given them to all of the kids in my family. The kids always know that auntie has cars in her bag.
OH MY!! The Master of zinc plating returns to the 1/64 die cast world! In my humble opinion there is NO ONE who has this technology wired better than you. I have learned so much from your metallurgical lessons in how to restore those cars who have become oxidize after years of play or abuse. This restoration is not without exception and looks great! Well done! Welcome back sir from your hiatus! You have been missed and we look forward to your future editions on this channel.
Hi baremetalHW, Good day to you and AWESOME! You made my DAY with your RETURN! Wishing you the very BEST! Take care, be well, and Thank you! Peace & Joy
Man I missed these videos. Funny that you always mention not going "too far" with how perfect you try to make the car but a single dedicated video of doing just that might satisfy the masses. Can't wait for the next one.
I'm a lady, and I promise I didn't click this by accident. You're one of the first die cast channels I subscribed too and your tips have helped me with my cars a lot. Thank you
3 or 4 ladies who accidentally click on this video? Really? I look at a lot of diecast on my channel and according to my stats, 25% of my audience is female. I highly doubt there's any misclicks there. Good to see you're back again. Now hopefully Marty makes his way back as well. Been missing you both.
i miss watching your redline videos. my favorite part was always watching you prep the car and paint it. the painting on these cars is always my favorite. i hope you are doing well.
Now this is the sort of restoration video I like to see. Genuine. Not a 'restoration' of a model that has been pre-wrecked deliberately by throwing it on a fire for a while.
For the "they were originally never perfect so don't make it perfect" point, to really drive it home, you should make a video of you making one normally, and one "as perfect as possible". Maybe even do a video where you take a modern casting and make it look as close as possible to a restored car in your collection to show how far mattel has come
Happy to see this pop up in my feed, and to see you are back. You are are great at your craft, and your casual and informative style makes for excellent content.
@baremetalHW I'm old but I'm new. I love your My Mechanics vibe. Your resto's are absolute Masters level learning. Question.. you mention a few times that making them too perfect makes the car stand out as restored, especially to collectors. Is your goal to create a car that convincingly avoids a collectors scrutiny or do you add value by owning the fact that it's a quality resto? As an art teacher, I find myself wanting imperfections as a way to make each car non-fungible, so I would want to know it was restored and enjoy the craftsmanship of the artist(you). To me, a fan of the sublime nature of vintage and not a value chaser, I appreciate you not overworking yet completely revitalizing a sliver of my childhood.
You nailed it... Can I restore a car that can fool a pro collector...that's my goal. Mirror polished cars are great for TH-cam videos but aren't fooling anyone. My video "back catalog" is full of them and they are sort of boring to make at this point. Now I break out a microscope and compare zinc crystal structure and try to match it... try and age the paint... try and reproduce toning... it's so much more fun and rewarding than "the perfect paint job". Nothing wrong with seeking perfection in art... it's just that perfection for me is creating a restoration that would not stand out if it was sitting next to the real thing.
You are the best restoration channel I have ever seen I love your videos also in the future could you do a custom super car like a Ferrari 458 or a bugatti
Beautiful restoration, but I can't believe that car is from 1972!! I have never seen this Ferrari before but the real thing must be futuristic looking as this miniature. I love Hot Wheels and Matchbox, and I collect them even today. And I'm 52 years old. But, I don't play with them, just collect them. Great video!! 😉
