    Nice selection and I wish there were more “prebiotics vs pro on the shelves” thank you for highlighting those products I didn’t know had some prebiotics. Not into lactobacillus… just remember that some of the sugars are absorbed in the mouth unless a complex sugar & the brain needs 800 Calories of sugar daily on average. Why don’t you have seaweed in there? Is it because of the oils and salt content? Also intermittent fasting is awesome for gut health, HGH and hormone rebalancing. It can curb cravings, increase early satiety and reduce the burden of the gut’s bad bacteria’s influence on food choices.

But they really do have a lot more healthier foods there and better prices for the quantity you're getting. Hey Pamela is that hard to do? How long is it in your Instant Pot?

    • @pamelawing5747
      @pamelawing5747 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@natefaust7790 It's very easy. I use a 52 oz. bottle of Fairlife 2% milk and a small, single serving plain yogurt. Not picky about the brand. I put the yogurt in the pot and slowly mix in the milk. You don't want to make a lot of air bubbles. I have a glass lid that fits perfectly so didn't have to order one. I lay a towel over the top and then put the lid on The towel keeps the condensation from falling back into the pot. I have a yogurt setting so that makes it easy. I just do it over night. I like to strain it. I put about four layers of cheese cloth into a strainer and let it drain. The amount of whey will vary, not sure why. IF you let it drain long enough you can end up with "cheese", kind of like ricotta which isn't a bad thing either.
      I put the yogurt on small containers, a cup or so and eat, add fruit, use in smoothies and so on. It will keep a couple of weeks.
      Note, you can buy yogurt starter but I find the little yogurt works fine. I make sure it's fresh and has all the "bugs".

    • @mothershelper1981
      @mothershelper1981 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't throw that whey away! It's one of the most nutritious things about yogurt. I love to just drink it out of the container but now I'm starting to save it because you can use it as a starter when you lacto ferment other foods.

    there are some really good foods there. I bought a big jar of Kimchi for only $6. Such a great deal! Stay away from the cashews though...unless they are organic and raw. The lightly salted roasted cashews are cooked in PEANUT oil...ick. Just read your labels and you'll find lotsa good stuff there.

    Thanks for all the videos. I hope you can answer my question. Is natural sugar from fruit gut friendly. I eat about 5 or 6 bananas a day. Some in my snoothie and some after a workout. That's all the sugar I have.
    How about peanut butter? I get it with just peanuts and salt. Gut friendly? Thanks!

    Concerning the aforementioned Sunflower oil. Sunflower oil at 20% (consumed) isn't bad for you, according to Thomas D. If it's organic, 30% is fine. Because it appears that sunflower oil is all the rage in grocery stores.

      It's super easy to make your own. Just put chopped or shredded cabbage in a jar with the proper amount of salt close it up and let it sit while it ferments. There are lots of TH-cam videos on it. I've been making my own for about a year and it tastes so delicious. Plus so cheap!

    The chobani flavored are 1/3 less sugar than activa. So it’s the healthiest flavored yogurt out there. But plain would be healthiest

      Of course not! I'm 50...... we're still young. Learning new things keeps you young and keeps your brain engaged. I thought I was eating decently until I watched Bobby, lol. But we were raised in the time of "canola oil is so healthy!". I try to eat nutrient dense foods. And if you eat lettuce at all, get organic. Something like green leaf. Never iceburg....no nutrients. I make salad using organic spring mix with organic green leaf mixed in. Then I use the remaining green leaf in wraps that are whole grain, low carb, no preservatives. Just things like that make a big difference. I'm trying to make the switch to grass fed beef and pasture raised chicken but the cost is an issue. So I just swap out what I can when I can. All the best to you on your healthy second act!!!😊
