      Honestly, I don't think it's worth it at all, even with the price tag of €213 EUR (Not to mention that it will cost significantly more once it's launched outside of indiegogo).
      Snapdragon 845 in 2022? That's kinda disappointing.
      You can get a phone with a Snapdragon 860/865/780g which are leaps stronger than the 845 for the same price, in phones with better overall specs like the Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro which also has 6GB Ram and an ips screen with 120hz refresh rate and 2k resolution!! With the phone capabilities included of course.
      Just get a Poco X3 Pro and slap a type-c controller underneath like the GameSir X2. Honestly that would be a much better deal.

      @@FightRayTV clearly you are one of the crowd who prefer their phone with a controller and that's fine. For people who want a dedicated handheld gaming device, this is excellent value and definitely the way forward, and it's capable of running Windows which is impressive.

    • @FightRayTV
      @FightRayTV 2 ปีที่แล้ว +52

      @@stevethorpe9755 Nah, it's not that I prefer a phone, it's just that it just doesn't worth the price tag with the older hardware just because they slapped it in a plastic shell.

      @@FightRayTV To be honest phone and controller feels like cheap crap, it *works* but god damn is having a fully featured dedicated handheld with proper battery life just for gaming is so much better...

This plays psnw games near perfect, and Android games. So I depends what your after. I don't have the time to break down a PS2 to make a portable ps2 handheld, however with this I can switch from ps2, to n64, to psp, to GBA, to nes or even GameCube. Poke the rubber under the shoulder button so it is directly on top of the switch and it won't move out again. Not sure what could be wrong with the R2 since that just uses a magnet for input.

    This was a great review. With the ability to convert your phone into a gaming handheld, this fills a really small space. You want an additional device to your phone, that requires you to still have a phone. Android games are currently fairly limited, where the switch library is massive. Outside of 3 or 4 android games, this is mostly for emulation, but it can't run the higher end emulators like ps2 well. If they tried to include a current flagship chip, it pushes the price into the $400-$600 range where is will struggle to compete with other devices. Granted, I am sure some people would still buy it if they made it an option.
    Razer recently made a development handheld with a gen 1 processor. Hopefully with all the horsepower that gives to android, developers will make more games for the platform so the purchase is more enticing in the future.

    • @ChrisAegrim

      Honestly, ps2 is mostly up to optimisation on the emulator side. It hasn't been long since we finally got our first proper ps2 emulator in aether sx2, which is still in a early stage. I just used my old SD820 (LG V20) with a 55 dollar Razer Kishi (it’s on sale) and bought a USB-C to HDMI with Passthrough Charging dongle. So far I’m really happy with it but I wish the ergonomics were a bit better, and that it was sturdier. The Kishi is plenty enough sturdy but I don’t really like how it can flex, and again just the ergonomics. Maybe the GameSir x2 would have been better, but I preferred the design of the Razer more. A launcher without an app drawer (like the Odin has) that works with gamepads was hard to find, and it took a lot of searching. But so far I’d say it’s pretty similar to the Odin setup. I can do pretty much almost anything the Odin can, for significantly cheaper. Tbh I wasn’t sure if the Odin was ever going to ship, and with the whole supply chain shortages happening. I figured it would be like 6 months to a year before I got one lol. The fact that the company has been so secretive, and we’ve known next to nothing about it hands-on made me extremely suspicious. Especially since I’ve never backed anything before, and didn’t want to take any chances. Don’t blame you for not being able to wait honestly. I couldn’t wait either. :S
