I felt the same cross shopping the LC and the Grenadier. I ended up buying the LC and have loved it so far. I’ve got about 1600 miles on mine and it’s been good. The grenadier is awesome but the no display or gauges behind the steering wheel is a no go and the ride quality is so much better in the LC. Since it’s my daily and off-road rig, LC for me. Time will tell but I see myself keeping the LC for a while. Just waiting on my Westcott lift to add the larger wheel/tire setup I want. Love your content, it’s giving me ideas.
First thing I did with the JKU in 2010 was remove the rear seat, made that so much more useful. Then again, years of driving a CJ7 with no rear seat maybe influenced that! The LC looks great with your mods.
Love this channel and long time follower. Brad, as you're relatively new to IFS, spacers don't create tire clearance like it does on solid axle. The travel stroke will be the same, just changes ride height. That may help on-road, but not off-road because it will stuff just as deep, unless you lower the bump stops.
Looks great! The Land Cruiser is really the only new Toyota that excites me. It's not in budget, so this actually makes me want to do a storage system in my 4Runner. it's super comfortable even sleeping just on the floor.
That intro shot is so crisp I thought it could be green screen! Great info and very enjoyable to watch. I'm enjoying seeing you venture into Toyota territory!
I’m planning to buy a land cruiser but have been waiting to see what kinds of camping kits and mods people come up with for it. Am thrilled you’re now in a Land Cruiser for this reason.
Brad, you are going to like this set up sleeping in back. I did my FJ 4years ago very similar to what you’re working on. I like my Goose Gear base. I spent 4 months in the mountain states this summer and love how my lay out worked. I put a wood top on my ARB roof rack set up with solar and ample space so I can stand on top for my photography.
Brad - a treat to visit with you at OE. I am grateful for all the content you provide that we can provide those eager to learn and develop confidence in their off road skills in our Land Rover community. Thank you!
I think those tire are all you need and I would not go larger, IMHO you don’t need 35, do some off road then make the decision if you need 35. You don’t need a winch use a strap on a tire save the weight. Like the drawers and fridge and storage. A Pelican gun case on top for gear and you will be set. Very Nice Brad.
I’m sure Brad of all people could use 35s. He definitely hits trails that the long wheel base would greatly benefit from 35s. It’s probably not the best idea to be scraping the underside of that complex hybrid vehicle constantly.
We just picked up a blue with premium package. We love it so far! My kids want to go overland camping inside of the vehicle. So we're going to get a lift gate tent to attach to the back and camp on the ground.
Hi Brad, great looking rig. you should go for an EcoFlow 3 kW Delta pro . Married up with EcoFlow alternator charging kit which is bit misleading because it actually collects directly to the battery. This will be a great combination for your rig.. keep on making great any informative videos about Overlanding
Looking good Brad! Caution: Be careful you don’t cover/block the vents that feed cool air to the Hybrid Batteries with your cabinets. My daughter did on her Sequoia and warnings showed up on the dash. Just something to look for.
Really love the new ride but I don’t wanna sleep in that cramped rear. You have a patriot camper x3 that I would die for lol I know you are just showing how the Landcruiser can be a great overland build. In a pinch sleeping in the LC is a cool option but on the regular I couldn’t . I’m a gladiator guy with a rooftop tent from zero 23 but hope to get a patriot camper on a few. Thx for the vids and keep them coming. Oh the Ineos and patriot camper look awesome together and patriot is launching their new camper on 9/5
Great video. "All in one shot" Well done sir! Love the Rhino Rack and the Method Wheels. I don't think I am going to lift mine but I don't do near the off-road you do. I am going to put those tires and wheels on though.
I really enjoy sleeping in my jeep WK2, It’s super fast, super quick and easy. I do wish that somebody manufactured a seat delete platform system to go inside the grand Cherokee WK2. I currently have a 60% rear seat delete, the 40% side to sleep on and a 60% side to store gear. The only downside is getting to my 34 inch plus spare tire under the rear cargo floor.
Brad, thank you for coming back to Colorado and Overland Expo Mountain West. If you plan for it, we would love for you to come back for Mile High Jeep Clubs 60th Annual All 4 Fun event the last week of July 2026. Brian aka GIGrandpa
Personally I wouldn’t do 35s simply because of gas mileage I feel one of the main reasons if not the main reason to get this car over lets say a current 4Runner is gas mileage. So getting 35 just kills that purpose. I’d stick to 33s perfect size for overlanding in my opinion because of all the road we have to drive anyways to get to trails. My 2cents
I've never been a fan of anything from goose gear personally. I just never understood why you would rely on a product that can rot and mildew. If they didn't solely use wood I'd have been more willing to consider them. But the fact it's all wood marine grade or not is a hard hard pass for me
Osmo pocket 3 I see. I use the same one for my stuff. Goose gear is nice. I haven’t installed a drawer system for my 4Runner yet. I like how you set this one up. Nice ride.
Curious how you quickly go from one new set of 33” tires and in short order swap to a new set of 35s. Are you buying all of these tires and then resell them or are sponsors just throwing new rubber your way? Just wondering how this works logistically and to some extent financially.
I have a 40 liter drawer fridge that will go down to -4. The space is much more usable on my drawer fridge compared to the chest. type IMO. I am thinking of adding a 30 liter drawer fridge above 40 liter. The 40 fits in the backseat of my Power Wagon and offers easier access than my chest type fridge.
When the build is done and you load it down completely, maybe you could weigh it for us. Full out trip weight, not empty. I would like to see what the weight difference is between this and a 4x4 express van.
In my opinion the Land Cruiser needs to also have bull bars to complete the look…..I have seen a few on new LC’s, mostly round headlight version……love the method wheels….really nice!
I would be interested in hearing about your long term impressions of a Toyota hybrid system. I think Toyota uses a planetary system for combining the electrical motor and combustion engine but what happens when electrical part breaks down on the trail? Is it still drivable or does the complete system shut down? Does the combustion have a separate starter motor or is it dependent on the electrical motor? How is it to tow with the motor over long distance. I suspect the electrical motor is great at pulling a boat up a launch but I am talking about towing a trailer for days. I am guessing you have lower load rating with the extra weight so a lower towing capacity. Do you get usable regeneration?
How can you out drawers on the hybrid batteries that have a fairly low weight capacity? Everyone was worried about this Super curious what your thoughts are Not to mention vertical space lost So don’t go with hybrid model?
I’m curious what you do with the seats you delete? Do they just get thrown away? Placed in storage so they can go back into the vehicle when you trade it in?
Can you measure the height from the top of the platform to the roof? I'd like to know compared to my GX470 build how much room you have in there. Looks like a nice setup!
Nothing new there, how you have to take the door/hatchesbof is a pain in the hole. Do that in the shed with a sheet of ply 😅 Looks class though looking forward to next vid.
I noticed you sitting on the bumper last video, can you still sit that with this shelf system? Also can they maybe a slimmer shelf system that isn't so high so you can sit still back there while camping instead of laying down as if in a coffin, I hope they make a slide out tailgate to sit on
Just started watching your videos and it’s so informative! Is there a way I can communicate with you about my Jeep wrangler JK? I’m new to doing mods and I just recently got a lift on mine with bigger tires and I wanna make sure I do things right and after watching your video with the jeep technician, I have so much I wanna learn!
Thanks for sharing. Do you feel like the rear drawers will have a negative downstream impact on the hybrid system? I thought the manual said not to exceed 90lbs or so?
From the owner of a 2008 Land Cruiser No Thanks I will keep the Tundra V8 and transmission the much bigger platform they sold you a GX but as a Jeep guy your use to small and underpowered!
I think less is more; I have the LC 250 coming from a 23 Tacoma on 35s and I think LC 250 on 33.8s in 17s is the perfect performance will give all you need to do LC things. Not Jeep crawler
Is there a TRD Pro version yet? I mean, for the price and only street radials on 20 inch wheels? I have a hard time thinking Toyota is taking the 4 Runner seriously! Actually, I know they're not.. I.E. Prado
Brad.. coffee one take question... All these vehicles, we are all wondering how you get to get all these vehicles? What I mean (or asking is) is for transparency is YT or other sponsorship putting you into these vehicles? Seems like a short turn around on a lot of these high dollar vehicles for a single owner which is why I ask.
The more he gets excited about the LandCrouser (and the specific reasons for it), the more stoked I get about my Rivian R1S. I throw a cooler with dry ice in the fronk and insane amounts of room in the back (where the gas tank normally goes). It self levels, I can have climate control all night long. Concert hall music at night via Maridan speaker or at lunch with the camp speaker. And before all you haters start talking “range”…pick an awesome BML spot worth going to that I can’t get to and I’ll prove you wrong. I have over 52k miles (Since Oct. ‘22) on my rig that I’ve explored the beautiful US of A with an American 🇺🇸 made vehicle and have had 0 issues getting there and back. I love mountain biking and the Rivian is like hitting all the trail heads with a portable 4 Seasons hotel. 🤟
Brad, I appreciate the speed of your narration on this type of video. Informative reviews should be this way! Look forward to more updates.
wow, i love how well the Goose Gear stuff integrates into the LC, even with the hybrid battery forcing the platform up a few inches. Great work!
Brad, I love what you have done to the LC. It's an awesome rig.
I felt the same cross shopping the LC and the Grenadier. I ended up buying the LC and have loved it so far. I’ve got about 1600 miles on mine and it’s been good. The new land cruirers are pretty sick! Cool to see that upgrades are already rolling out
I agree and more upgrades coming soon.
We need more in-depth videos on those upgrades. Can you please show them in progress instead of when it’s all done?
@@TrailRecon I can't wait till we get some more things on the market. Looking pretty bare right now lol.
That intro shot is so crisp I thought it could be green screen! Great info and very enjoyable to watch. I'm enjoying seeing you venture into Toyota territory!
Awesome video as always Brad. Expos are such an amazing experience definitely going to go to all the expos back to back one year in the future.
Fantastic advice and analysis as usual Brad....
I’m planning to buy a land cruiser but have been waiting to see what kinds of camping kits and mods people come up with for it. Am thrilled you’re now in a Land Cruiser for this reason.
Love what you have done with the Toyota!!!! Back in my Navy days I had a sr5 long bed Toyota pick up. Miss it but had great times.
🤩🤩 living the dream. I see trips to latin america and canada! Toyota needs to build a 4x4 CARGO VAN!
Nice setup, thanks for the video!
I have those same wheels on my 1993 Suburban. They look great on the Land Cruiser 👍
It’s cute! I would prefer the gladiator with a 6.4 Hemi swap! Love your channel.
Brad - a treat to visit with you at OE. I am grateful for all the content you provide that we can provide those eager to learn and develop confidence in their off road skills in our Land Rover community. Thank you!
So glad we got a chance to meet!
1600 lb payload capacity. The 60 kg limit is for the tiny compartment cover at the tailgate.
loved that light bar
I think those tire are all you need and I would not go larger, IMHO you don’t need 35, do some off road then make the decision if you need 35. I will check it out
Nice upgrades. It's impressive how fast these companies have gotten products out for these new trucks. It'll be fun to see where peoples' builds go.
Thanks! I'm excited to see what else come out of this platform.
Looking good Brad! Caution: Be careful you don’t cover/block the vents that feed cool air to the Hybrid Batteries with your cabinets. My daughter did on her Sequoia and warnings showed up on the dash. Just something to look for.
Thanks! Goose Gear built in special vent holes into this plate system. I'll have some close up stuff of the kit coming soon.
Wife wants one of these. Hoping to pick one up for a reasonable price in a couple years. Can't wait to see what it's capable of.
Definitely check out Dissent Off-road, the top name in US Land Cruiser armor. They’ve already run their new LC thru the rubicon
Love the tires. Wheels are spot on. Great improvements. 😊
Finally, i can bring along my full sized Goat... Thanks Goose Gear!!!
Men I love your Wheel and Tire setup that is amazin
Great video Brad. Sorry again for trying to grab one of your waters, I seriously thought they were for giving away 😂
Man it would be great if you could get just a few more commercials. Love your stuff!
Goosegear did a great job, love how that turned out.
Very cool to see you building a Toyota, anxious to see it progress.
That Land Cruiser is looking nuts 🔥
Really love the new ride but I don’t wanna sleep in that cramped rear. You have a patriot camper x3 that I would die for lol I know you are just showing how the Landcruiser can be a great overland build. “That’s a great rack” -Brad
Nice work. Love that refrigerator setup. Still, was hoping to see you build out a Grenadier-maybe one day.
Not a hybrid fan. Let’s see how putting all that stuff on top. Other than that…. Looks great.
Love this video! Such a sick Land Cruiser!
The only up grade i want is a V8.
Don’t change that tire and wheel set up!! It looks perfect
Wow what a great video. Keep ‘em coming!
Looks like a great time there! Btw Brad, you can never have enough coffee!!!
Great video. "All in one shot" Well done sir! Love the Rhino Rack and the Method Wheels. I don't think I am going to lift mine but I don't do near the off-road you do. I am going to put those tires and wheels on though.
Super exciting Brad! Very interesting build!
I really enjoy sleeping in my jeep WK2, It’s super fast, super quick and easy. I do wish that somebody manufactured a seat delete platform system to go inside the grand Cherokee WK2. You one takes are very enjoyable.
Brad’s out there seeing sounds with that much coffee 😂
Historically, I'm a Ford & Jeep guy, currently a RAM & Toyota guy, refreshing seeing the new Toyota stuff on your page, can't wait for more.
Brad, thank you for coming back to Colorado and Overland Expo Mountain West. If you plan for it, we would love for you to come back for Mile High Jeep Clubs 60th Annual All 4 Fun event the last week of July 2026. Brian aka GIGrandpa

What is the main purpose of this vehicle? Different use case? I mean, when are you gonna use it and why would you choose it over the Gladiator?

Fingers crossed you take that thing to Dynatrac soon and SAS the front.
Please give us some inside views when you make your next video. Show how your get in a lay down. Thank you!
+20 might not work with 35s. Icon recently put out a video on it. Then recommended +40 wheels. Might have to cut the fenders .
It’s almost impossible to put 35s on a Toyota without cutting the fenders to be fair… unless you run $20k portals
Missing the regular content, seeing more members only content. Get the reason, but as I'm retired, needing to keep within the budget.
Cool seeing you there! Daymond John from Shark Tank was there as well!
Curious how you quickly go from one new set of 33” tires and in short order swap to a new set of 35s. Are you buying all of these tires and then resell them or are sponsors just throwing new rubber your way? Just wondering how this works logistically and to some extent financially.
Brad doesn't do things that make sense financially, lol.
Wescott Designs has a minimalist sleek roof rack that with a low profile design that looks stock for the new Land Cruiser.
So what cars do you have now, Brad? Land Cruiser, the JK, and the Gladiator? Is the 392 gone?
Mike from Overland Bound has a drawer fridge in his LC 80 build they he and Parnell designed to keep the rear seats.
Toyota screwed the pooch on the battery…too much cargo sacrifice
It’s funny the European/ Japanese models don’t have such a big hump
When the build is done and you load it down completely, maybe you could weigh it for us. Full out trip weight, not empty. I would like to see what the weight difference is between this and a 4x4 express van.
In my opinion the Land Cruiser needs to also have bull bars to complete the look…..I have seen a few on new LC’s, mostly round headlight version……love the method wheels….really nice!
I have a friend that installed an Egoe Nest in the back of his grenadier & works well…….
Sweet! Looks good.
Congratulations on your new build. But I have to say. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Need another update video on your cruiser!!
Candy store for big kids! Where's the Jeeps though?🤣
Wish I was at MTN WEST this year. Couldn’t make it in 23, maybe next year!
Awesome your cameraperson is using a DJI Osmo. I love mine (shadows tell).
I would be interested in hearing about your long term impressions of a Toyota hybrid system.

Super curious what your thoughts are
Not to mention vertical space lost
So don’t go with hybrid model?
It’s just the back 5” that have the weight limit. It’s not a big deal.
Every LandCruiser is a hybrid...no option to go 'without the hybrid'.
We're going to have a coffee intervention for you Brad. Clenching that coffee cup like it was going to disappear.
Welcome to Colorado
Easy on the coffee!!! 😂
Love the wheels. Was the wheel offset 20 or the 35 listed on Methods website? I'm doing the same tires. Wanted the C rating
I have the same question... found same thing as you. Wish we could get an answer to that. Thanks
Freezer set temperatures are generally 0F and below. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but that, sir, is a refrigerator.
What kind of tool bag is that? Looks cool!
New tires just to swap out in 2 weeks for bigger?
Cost is no matter. Never talks$$
Nothing new there, how you have to take the door/hatchesbof is a pain in the hole. Do that in the shed with a sheet of ply 😅
Looks class though looking forward to next vid.

33s to to 35s almost immediately? Did you even get to see how the 33s felt?
That's not how it works in TH-camr land.
4cylinder gonna be so tired in a couple of years
From the owner of a 2008 Land Cruiser No Thanks I will keep the Tundra V8 and transmission the much bigger platform they sold you a GX but as a Jeep guy your use to small and underpowered!
Maybe I missed it, but, weren't you going to put a first aid kit in your LC, too?
Anyways, you got a really cool set up do far on your LC
I think less is more; I have the LC 250 coming from a 23 Tacoma on 35s and I think LC 250 on 33.8s in 17s is the perfect performance will give all you need to do LC things. Not Jeep crawler
Looks great. But from now on one cup of coffee only when doing videos.
Wheels look like Method MR705
yes... but no 20 mm... looking to find if it's better to take the 0mm offset or the 35mm offset. Do you know?
Is there a TRD Pro version yet? I mean, for the price and only street radials on 20 inch wheels? I have a hard time thinking Toyota is taking the 4 Runner seriously! Actually, I know they're not.. I.E. Prado
Brad.. coffee one take question... All these vehicles, we are all wondering how you get to get all these vehicles? What I mean (or asking is) is for transparency is YT or other sponsorship putting you into these vehicles? Seems like a short turn around on a lot of these high dollar vehicles for a single owner which is why I ask.
Im assuming he makes money.
Any product presentors are required to disclose if there are sponsorship. Otherwise, the content is biased if that.
