Stunt Double Squarebody Chevy Truck Interior Restoration - Stacey David's Gearz S11 E7

  • They say that true change comes from within… Well, this week Stacey turns his attention to the interior of the Stunt Double. The old, crusty junk hits the floor and our Fall Guy inspired build gets a new look: from painting trim and door panels, to a new bench seat. Man o’ man, this truck is starting to look completely different. A shower of sparks lights up the garage as Stacey demonstrates how to make a bracket that mounts our new bench seat to the truck while using the stock seat adjustment. It’s a tour de force of aftermarket parts and salvaging what we’ve got on GearZ!

seat brackets were the first project I did with my welder. I got some seats out of an 89 Suburban to go in my 78 K5. I thought they would just bolt up...I was wrong. good to see I had the right idea with the adapters.

Many years back I watched a video about the Fall Guy truck. I don't remember how many trucks there were, but it was a few. The major difference between the stunt trucks and a stock truck was a mid engine. The frame rails were boxed and had a few cross members added. Anyone out there that knows where the video can be found should post it.

The only problem with the spot weld cutters is there way more difficult to sharpen then drill bits. I just sharpen my drill bits at a shallower angle and they work fine.

I really like the information on the seat conversion. I am going to be replacing the seats on my 78 Suburban 4x4 soon. The issue I have is that someone stole the seats from the vehicle when I had it at another storage place that it is at now. I will have to build a seat frame and also get some good seats for the vehicle.
Living on a V A budget is making this rebuild much harder as it is not a large amount of cash and most of it is going to other important projects that I did not know were coming up when I married the second wife. I also am repairing sagging floors and other structural and electrical issues in the house she owns with her mother who is rather sick ( Alzheimers) and takes u lots of time and effort.
Either way the interior is not the only thing that will need to be redone. I am going to have to replace the original body mounting bushings and lots of body work including panel replacement. I hope that I can start sending you pictures in the near future of the start and then keep you updated. When I get back t the states I will take the start pictures and then every time I get something done I eill send more information and pictures.
