These trucks are brutes, the shit we put them through on our logging teams back in the early 80's was a testament to their durability. GM hasn't made a tougher truck since the squarebody and they never will. Fun seeing guys still putting them through their paces instead of babying the hell out of them! Put them to work, a squarebody will never stop begging for abuse!

Definitely far more powerful than the Hilux. It would have been more interesting to see them try to put the weight on the back of the Toyota instead of through a trailer. But we know what would have happened. That let's be honest, there's no way to put 32000 lb on the little tiny bed of a Toyota.😂

Loaded my 1500 chevy with engine blocks to scrap.. The frame broke by the spring hanger. So i loaded the entire truck and load onto my f100 ranger and hauled it all to the scrap yard. The f100 was a cab and a half till i cut the back of the cab off to make a ten foot flat bed. Had to pull the rear bumper down and jack the cab up to put it on tires to get the clearance . 6000lbs in blocks. 5400 in chevy lbs. I put super heavy 15" trailer tires on the rear to hold extra weight when i scraped some molds that weighs 9000 lbs each. The f100 was a rot bucket when i bought it for 100 bucks. Still have it two decades later after scraping the chevy i paid 500 for and had it for a week before i broke it.
You got to look closely this truck isnt nothing too special. It's some single stage crap paint job they painted right over all the rust holes eating away the bed and rocker panels they sprayed black paint over the frame to make it look nice but it's just a worn out old beater in disguise he didnt destroy a survivor or a clean collector truck just an old crummy beater there are 10 in my neighborhood and probably 10 in yours.
In all honesty thought for an old pickup it actually managed the weight well until it all shifted to one side, after that it was all downhill (literally)
Considering these trucks are still on the road,farms,and businesses means they were built to last. New trucks are made for girls who think healing their side by sides is "working" them. No new truck could compare to the old workmanship that went into these trucks.

Square bodies are my favorite trucks but these early ones with the weird front fenders I don't care about. Only thing is you can bolt the later fenders on them and make good looking trucks out of them. But this being a 4wd version I'd rather see ran hard like this. Just think he put a couple too many logs on it.

Loaded my 1500 chevy with engine blocks to scrap..
The frame broke by the spring hanger.
So i loaded the entire truck and load onto my f100 ranger and hauled it all to the scrap yard.
The f100 was a cab and a half till i cut the back of the cab off to make a ten foot flat bed.
Had to pull the rear bumper down and jack the cab up to put it on tires to get the clearance .
6000lbs in blocks.
5400 in chevy lbs.
I put super heavy 15" trailer tires on the rear to hold extra weight when i scraped some molds that weighs 9000 lbs each.
The f100 was a rot bucket when i bought it for 100 bucks.
Still have it two decades later after scraping the chevy i paid 500 for and had it for a week before i broke it.
This is probably the only truck I'm pretty sad about.

You got to look closely this truck isnt nothing too special. It's some single stage crap paint job they painted right over all the rust holes eating away the bed and rocker panels they sprayed black paint over the frame to make it look nice but it's just a worn out old beater in disguise he didnt destroy a survivor or a clean collector truck just an old crummy beater there are 10 in my neighborhood and probably 10 in yours.
Not to mention the bed is a few feet too long to be cool kinda like a four door chevelle.

Square bodies are my favorite trucks but these early ones with the weird front fenders I don't care about. Only thing is you can bolt the later fenders on them and make good looking trucks out of them. But this being a 4wd version I'd rather see ran hard like this. Just think he put a couple too many logs on it.
