  • @racheljones9786
    @racheljones9786 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Thank you so much. This is so obvious. I struggle to meditate due to a constant monkey mind. So so simple, just sit and let be before even trying to meditate. So so simple! I am able to sleep at night and listening to one of your previous teachings I know its because I am at peace in the person I am. Its so good to recognise and understand that and why my partner is never able to sleep because of his own demons. Had a few encounters recently, one was this afternoon with a young man in a car on a mission to get some where fast. Nearly caused us to crash but I sat in car and just put my hands up calmly. Had a load of aggressive verbal and hand gestures from him but I just sat there and didn't retaliate. Off he sped only to cut unfront of a bus and giving him grief the the window. I didn't react at all and felt no anger, just a little agitated (I'm only human and not that far along my path). For the first time I felt the power of letting go and letting be as I usually give a load back and see backing down as a subconscious weakness. This is all down to your teachings and being open to buddist philosophy. I just can't understand why the world isn't buddist, if only for the kindness to all that it shows. The instantness of this world is driving everyone round the bend and making us all so angry and entitled. It's a worrying world ahead of us for so many reasons. Thank you for empowering us in the right way and showing us to be the best people we can be in this minefield of madness 🙏🌱🌏

    I love your graceful & peaceful way of being & preaching. I was listening to the preaching of our parish priest during last Sunday's mass, somewhat similar to this video in using smart phones, all instant (good & bad) connected in all kinds of things. Sometimes there may be no connection in different places,. When it come to spiritual thing it's done only when the need arises (when fallen in trouble). So to be abide in the lord always so our connection will never be disconnected & that our prayers will be answered.

    As a Buddhist, I would add a twist here. Just being is foundational, I entirely agree with it. And we cannot always be focused. Sometimes just being, without any thought or intention, is good. But I also feel being means being present, mentally and physically, aware of oneself and one s consciousness of being in the world. Just being, while mentally alert in a balanced way, is sublime.

    Hello from 🇨🇦
    🙏 for your content, I love it.
    When I was younger, I had a lot of problems. And at some point I became a Zen Buddhist, and started learning meditation.
    Meditation was very frustrating to me for the first couple of years.
    I did not know what I should expect from it, yet, I remained convinced that I should continue.
    Problem was, just as our wise narrator suggests, I was so used to having the power of getting something the minute I do what is required to get that thing. I was used to the fruits of my actions coming instantly. And meditation is just not like that. In fact, meditation was probably the very first thing I’d experienced in life, in which the fruits are not instant.
    I only began to notice the fruits of meditation, at times when I forgot to meditate. Every so often I would be too busy to meditate, and I began to notice that in those days, the way I interfaced with my life’s circumstances became short, irritable, impatient. I would make mundane decisions that would often be discourteous to others, and require apologies, lol.
    This is how I first came to notice that meditation, calming my mind, would have a great beneficial impact on- not just my life- but also for those around me.
    It’s been 13 years now since I took the basic precept ceremony, and began cultivating my own meditation practice.
    And I can say for those at the very beginning, that it’s very much a skill that you get better and better at over time.
    I do not know what life would have been like had I not taken meditation up seriously as a daily practice. I feel the same about finding Buddhism in general.
    I hope others can find something good in these things. Everyone on earth deserves a better life.
    ✌️🫶☸️😎
