Nibbi PE30 on Hawk 250 with Loncin RE250 Engine SWAP Motovlog & Review

  • I finally got a Nibbi PE30 carburetor, the Nibbi intake and the Nibbi air filter for my 2019 RPS Hawk 250 with the Loncin RE250 engine swap. The engine is a clone of a Honda CRF230F engine and has an overhead cam and six speed manual transmission. It did make a noticeable difference, but isn't a magical cure for a lack of displacement. Come along for a test ride and be there when a distracted driver pulls out right in front of me.
    Here are the parts used in this video.

    Nibbi 48mm Air Filter amzn.to/2SLgoqc

    Here in Philippines we have a motorcycle with that engine. The number 1 recommended replacement for carb was always nibbi pe30. It's by far the best value for money, easy to tune, plug and play and superb quality for that engine. Great choice!

    Nice to see more people rocking the PE30. Glad my jetting worked out for ya. It took me a while to get that part figured out lol. The adjustments being where they are is one of the best parts of that carbutetor too.

    I just bought a nibbi carburetor and filter for my kids 125cc and got it on. All I had to do was adjust the air screw, idle screw a small small amount and adjust the needle up one to make it more rich at topend(just cause). It Worked amazing.. I personally think its more the motors being Chinese made that the piston rings are not gaped the same to every 125 motor 150, and so on so comparison ratios are all over the place from my motor to your motor to the next one an that is causing more the issues then anything.

    Watched your whole build this far. Great job, especially with the documenting! I believe you would be much more glad for your efforts, if you were to swap BACK to the original. I truly feel that the whole swap, this far, is a much further step forward in the comfort segment, which is equally critical in my opinion for any ADV bike.
    I really like what you did, and I feel thankful someone took the time to capture what is possible with enough patience. I'm mostly curious as too how much smoother the counter-balanced variant makes things. It's something possibly you only know!
    Well done

      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment. The best thing about this swap honestly is the counter balanced engine. It isn't a whole lot more powerful but six gears is fun and there is absolutely no vibration transmitted from the engine. It makes more a much smoother, more comfortable ride.

Driver was blind to see you until they pulled out which they need to fix with a mirror or sign or something cause I'm sure that is not the first time for them to almost get T-Boned from that direction. Again I'm glad your OK. *I have done the same and I'm reminded by my 150 BPM to slow down and pay attention. You did great on control of the bike. Blessings

    I figured the carb would be larger, I have a 24mm carb ona 88cc scooter engine, it's a bit crazy tuning, because it's originally for 125-150 engines, but it's not stock, it has a large valve head ported about as far as it can go without welding or epoxy, I do thavetge intake as as far as it can possibly go, it looked like Swiss cheese then fixed with epoxy, I also have a 150 aftermarket intake I'm going to try, it's about the same internally as the stock mod intake, but with the cam exhaust and carb, it will do about 60-65 on a very slight down hill, the only way I can tell it's down hill us it's slower going the other direction! It looks flat! I have looked at nibbi carbs because I'm looking to do a slide carb conversion, a 26mm is about as far as I'd want to go, 24mm is plenty large, although small for a 150with any mods, around 26-30 with a big bore cam exhaust, a 30 works from 171- 232cc, I figure I'm over 6hp not bad for a 4t that started out as a 49cc, I'm planning on getting a stroker crank, that will get it to 95-96cc and hopefully gain a HP or 3, and a decent gain in TQ, the head should flow plenty enough to turn 11k even at 95+cc,
    The good thing about these Chinese scooter and bikes, they are cheap, and some are clones of Honda engines, and yeah I have about been a hood ornament like that myself, they don't see bikes, especially scooters, they don't expect them to be fast! I can pass cars alot of the time at stoplights, if I'm moving and they are just getting the green, it runs the best from about 5-30 mph, and does 35-45 easily, it's hard to keep it at the legal speed! To start with me on it it was about 25 mph full on! Now flats, it will easily do 40-45, 55at full throttle (after about a mile) but hey it's a 50cc scooter, it's not going to be that fast, I don't want to go much over 55, on the small 10" rims, i want to get a hawk, maybe swap a 250 ninja engine, maybe something a bit larger, a 600 ninja engine is kinda small!! Maybe ??? Ha-ha wouldn't that be cool!!

      I wouldn’t run it with the stock jets. I’d buy the jet kit. Flat slide carbs are slightly different and need larger size jets then the old style rounded (like the VM26 clones). So Stock I’d try that 32 idle jet and the 120 main jet (depending on your distance from sea level) I am also having the problem of what mount will fit with the stock motor. I don’t really wanna grind down the frame like all of the reviews on the Amazon listing for this carb say you have too.
      Edit: I now realize this is not a PWK clone but a PE so it is not a flat slide. I would still look into jetting it

      @@JackofAllMasterofNone The speedometer matches my girlfriends car to the mile per hour (a 2023 Toyota Rav4) and its withing 2 miles in per hour in either direction of any road side radars I've gone by. I know its a 230 but they call it a 250. Also its fuel injected and a 2021 model year. I drive it 27 miles every day that its not raining to and from work and I go by 3 pole mounted radars. Not only that who cares about 1 or 2 miles an hour, I've had it read out over 70 at some points but it doesn't hold that speed.

    Gotta add another thing... It'sa shame it doesn't come with a kick start. Sad in case the battery goes bad or something...gotta give that good ol' push start.

    • @JackofAllMasterofNone
      @JackofAllMasterofNone  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They have to remove the kick start to make room for 6 gears. Unfortunately it's what you have to sacrifice to have that extra gear and it's worth it

      Fuck a kick start lol. Small price to pay. And actually an awesome one. I'd rather deal with keeping it running well than to have to kick the big bitch lol. Iv had 2 back surgeries so that isn't any fun.

    That car pulling out in front of you was scary. That's a terrible driveway. They need to trim the trees and bushes at the end. They might be pretty but they're going to hurt someone.

    Then the air gap box below the saddle is always paper pleated breather. But you are Red Line Super fast Motocross Enduro jump motor bike with red filter cap and NIPPI with a cable for choke and I like but neither Mikuni and Nibbi car builder and it is proof that the car painter buy a car pre-owned.

      A 17 front sprocket and 45 rear sprocket would be the best setup for almost every single motorcycle manufactured good acceleration and top speed and mpg.
