Wow! This is impressive. I'm learning Portuguese now and love it but it is not easy.

Wow!! I’m very impressed, I’m Portuguese but living in the USA since I was 1 yeard old and I speak Portuguese fluently and understood everything you said without a problem. From what I’m told Portuguese is very difficult to master and you’re definitely on your way.

How brave Josie! Kewl that you're digging into the kiddie books. That's my strategy too. Read, watch and listen to a wide variety of Portuguese inputs, and before you know it your brain is trained. Long time fan here, waving from Figueira da Foz. Boa sorte!

Bravo! Your Portuguese is better than the majority of 2nd generation Portuguese born here in Canada & US, so keep going and congratulations.

Hi Josie, SO pleased you made this video! This is exactly how I have been feeling about learning Portuguese. We have been here about seven months now and when we first arrived we signed up for a group class. It was a very small group and the Tutor was excellent, but it was just too much for me to take in, it moved too fast for me and the grammar element was just too confusing for me at that stage. (It still is!) it’s good to know I’m not alone in that struggle. You sound like you’re doing really well, I was very impressed! It’s given me hope. Thank you. 😊

Hey josie appreciate your videos especially the one on article 15! … how is caldas in the winter? Do you find it’s too cloudy or any sessional depressive effects from lack of sun?

Hi! Since being here for a bit more than two years, the winters have been vastly different. Our first winter was extremely pleasant and I recalled it raining only a couple of times. Most days were sunny and in the low to mid 60s. Keep in mind that that year there was a drought. This past winter was different. The temperature was still mild but it rained more (not the entire day but usually in the mornings). The rain wasn’t like a downpour, but more of a light mist and sometimes a light drizzle. However, the sun usually came out mid day. Other than that, the winter is incredibly mild. I only had to wear a light jacket or thicker sweater.

I hope that you are in good health and enjoying your life.
    Suggestions and concerns while abroad:
In order to help travelers in general while traveling abroad, and since you are such a good communicator, I would like to suggest the following topics for you to address, if possible, please:
The importance of having a will and power of attorney for both property and personal care.
What if you get demented while living or traveling abroad without family or friends...who is going to decide for you during that critical moment?
What to do if one has no family, wife or kids and start losing our memory while living abroad...should one see a lawyer regarding our assets, and other issues?
How does one solve the issue of (yahoo, face book etc.) accounts passwords as well as credit cards PIN in case of sudden death abroad...should we contact a lawyer about the same?
The importance of having a laminated card in your luggage with all the necessary, and very important contact information regarding the executor of your will and power of attorney, or any other major issue in case of sudden death abroad.
The importance of having funeral arrangements made in case of sudden death while traveling abroad.
Options for doing and paying the yearly income tax return while traveling abroad?
How to get your mail from back home while living and traveling abroad?
The importance of advising your banks about your travels plans abroad so that your credit / debit cards don't get cancelled while you are traveling.
The importance of having good antitheft luggage while abroad to keep you safe.
The importance of having a hobby while retired to keep you busy.
The importance of seeing a financial advisor in order to prepare for retirement.
Outliving your retirement savings, and the impact of inflation on the monthly budget.
The importance of seeing your family doctor for a physical check-up, and getting vaccinated against hepatitis, malaria etc. before going abroad.
The importance of having more than one way of getting to your money while abroad.
The importance of having travel medical insurance while traveling abroad and your (insurance company suggestions).
Stay healthy, safe and thank you.
