My Apartment Purchase Experience in Portugal
Hi Everyone!!
I hope you guys are having a great week. I had a spare few minutes in my day so I wanted to share a quick video with you all. As some of you may know and or have watched previously, we have a rental apartment here. The purchase of that apartment was a completely different experience than my primary residence. So much so that I wanted to share this experience with you. *Disclaimer*, I worked with both buyers agents and listing agents and I accidentally clumped them both up when I said buyers agent in this video. Some were not buyers agents, but were actually listing agents.
If you are a buyers/listing agent- please take what I say with a grain of salt. I know not all buyers/listing agents are the same. I am just disclosing my experience with the handful that I have worked with.

Feliz Ano Novo Todos! I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday and wishing everyone a prosperous New Year. I'm sorry I have been MIA these past couple of months. Happy Friday Everyone! Here I go again talking about the weather. If you're like me, you know the importance of good weather. Obviously, "good weather" is a very personalized opinion since good weather to me may not be ideal for you. I love the weather here in the Silver Coast of Portugal because, to me, it's the perfect temperature for most outdoor activities. With that being said, it's not al...

Happy Friday Friends! Did you know that Portugal is known for their abundance of fresh seafood? Honestly, it can be either very intimidating or adventurous cooking a new fish. In today's video, I wanted to share with you my favorite way of cooking Robalo. Robalo is similar to sea bass. In fact, when I looked it up online, it stated that it's the "European sea bass". It is a hearty white fish th...

Hi Friends! How are y'all doing? I can not believe it's almost October. Though, I will say that the fall is my favorite time of the year. I have already picked out my children's Halloween costumes and I'm looking up Thanksgiving recipes as we speak. So an excit...

Thank you Josie!!
Nice video! If anyone is wondering, like I was: CPCV is an abbreviation for Contrato Promessa Compra e Venda, which translates to "Promissory Contract of Purchase and Sale". It's a legally binding document in Portugal that outlines the terms of a property sale and purchase between a buyer and a seller. (<-- From a website called SuperCasa.)
Fog De Arelho, we left and headed south. Best decision ever.
Now that you've had a chance to experience things...where is your favourite place to eat? Shop for clothing, etc...would love to hear your favourite finds since moving to Caldas area. thanks for sharing!
Happy Early Thanksgiving 💜💜
Portuguese is literally the most beautiful language in the whole world! I wish I was a native speaker! And your kids speak it super beautifully
I bet you are happier taking multiple vacations with no responsibilities, and living care free
Yes, I saw you by the Dunas last Halowwen, and I told you! 😊
I would like to know more about the A2 test and citizenship in Portugal because I want to move there.
Awesome! So glad things are progressing for your household. Fingers crossed for you to make more Portuguese friends and to encounter some French friends in the future.
Welcome back Josie. Great to hear you and your family are doing well. Kids are so adaptable and learn languages so easily. I have a question about traveling outside of Portugal. Like you I’m waiting for my citizenship through marriage. What documents do you need to get in and out of Portugal without any problems.
Welcome 😊
Welcome back! And congratulations on your tests! I'm looking forward to more videos on life on the Silver Coast for my own research.
You talk like your Spanish. Not bad, to be honest.
Wow! This is impressive. I'm learning Portuguese now and love it but it is not easy.
Giving citizenship to people who cant speak C2 is insane.
Portugal needs people to live there and pay taxes to support social programs. Not giving those people citizenship after 5 years is insane.
Your face doesn't move
Bienvenue de retour 🇫🇷 Happy to see you! Parabéns on passing both language requirements! That dedication 🙌🏻 The cost of living is terrifying here in Canada. Vlog away… anything you want to share. I love house tours… and comparisons… general life in Portugal, especially the Costa Prata! 🇵🇹
Happy to see you again, Josie! Would love specific information about the Portuguese language test for citizenship, especially info/resources on how to study and take the exam online from the U.S. Also enjoy your videos where you walk around town and go to a cafe or wherever and take us “with you.” Thank you!
Nice ramble! More info on the difference between French and Portuguese citizenship would be great. I’m child-free, and my oldest nephews are French adults. They want me to move to France, but I prefer Portugal, at least, to live before I’m a real old lady. 👵🏾😜 I have some French, but the process in Portugal seems easier. I don’t mind if it takes 7 years. In the US, it’s very fast if it takes 12 years. An update on how you navigate your daily life would be great too. Have more friends? Glad to see you looking so happy!
Hi Josie, I am living in Sao Martinho do Porto. Love it here! Trying to learn Portuguese. It is a difficult language. I have been here for one year. It was easy for me to move to Portugal from the States because if have dual American and EU citizenship (German citizenship). Nice to see you again. Ate logo!
Congratulations on passing your test! As soon as I saw your face, I'm like...I remember that woman! You are so beautiful and smart! Hope I see you when I make my move over! I'm going to buy a farm and grow some olives and cherries! Welcome back!!!
Hi Josie! Welcome back! Would you please do a video on the pros and cons of immigration to France vs. Portugal? Also, would you please do a video on the various ways to qualify for residency in France? Thanks, Josie. Good to see you back!😊🫶🏿👍🏾
Glad to see you back and to hear that everything is going well. Good luck with your French citizenship
Great to see these videos again!
🎉🎉welcome back🎉🎉
Hi. Are you still living in Caldas da Rainha? My wife and I are seriously considering moving there. I’d love to hear how things are now.
GREAT VIDEO, AND I LOVE YOUR MUSIC
Hey Josie you still in Portugal.
Has this home sold?
Can you share a link to Article 15 details? I can't find much on it. Thank you!
Fantastic this kind of info. We are dreaming about living in Caldas. Can I ask what school the kids go? Many thanks!
you have the more performance of real state so far .....
How much rent u paid for a month ? For this house ? And this house is beautiful ❤
Miss you videos. Are you done with updates?
Other treats to give a shot to are some staples of my childhood which are still around to this day and staples of Caldas Da Rainha: Cavacas, Beijinhos Das Caldas and Sugus. Cavacas are sold in the store near the Fruit Market and are so sugery and sweet as well. I ate one of those in a package of 6 when I was last there and the sugar is not so prominent as before and has a taste of lime, not lemon like back in the 80s and 90s. Beijinjos Das Caldas is the little cousin of the cavacas for they are balls of sugar in a transparent bag. Same effect as the cavaca but smaller scale. Last but not least Sugus are tasty caramels similar to Starburst in North America BUT easier on taste buds. Give those a shot the next time you want to do a taste test. They have my stamp of approval.
Me personally love more the white Filipinos
Where can I get hold of your homework books ? I'm 57 years young and try to learn Portuguese. Thank you Luba Quintal
I was in your neck of the woods and Uber is available.
Yes. Over the past 3 years, Uber has become more available
To think Afrikaners almost never recognised Portugese as being ‘white’ to their warped whiteness standards. How times have ‘changed’
Bro. Portugal is like the poor man’s Spain. People pleasant though and unlike the Spanish , make an effort to speak half-decent English
Hello, Thanks for the information. It is very helpful. We are looking for private Portuguese schools in the Lisbon area and are having difficulty finding a directory of these schools. We keep getting the international school listing. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!
❤ the most sweet of the sweets is your little girl. My heart was swept by her.
If you are a citizen, you can get the whole thing covered. I am a citizen there so I pay nothing.
Thank you for your video! I am not sure if I missed it, but how much are you paying for private Portuguese school?
She said 1,100 euros per month for all three kids and that is with a sibling discount. I believe that is accurate.
South Africans constantly experience trauma. We have to be constantly vigilant. Its exhausting.
Клано❤
😊❤❤
Come to downtown Toronto and pay 20$CA for parking and wait 8-10 hours for a non-emergency, in a shabby environment but it will be free if you’re a Canadian citizen (maybe for others as well - not sure)
Hi Josie, I am looking into Caldas for my new home. Do you speak Portuguese? You mentioned some businesses you frequented and wondered if you spoke with them in Portuguese? I am just starting to learn. Thank you.
